A good run { 3 / 4 wins } will make a huge difference to any of the teams - given the weather this time of the year we'll be luck to have another 2/3 games

Rathkeale are a good footballing side with good players in midfield called mikey Lyons and Alan o Shea.Lyons. Plays centre midfield and o Shea plays on the right wing.have a great striker called Barry riordan so be wary of him.back four are average tbh..

Disappointing for Avenue to lose on penalties but hopefully the Clare teams will progress in the FAI this weekend. Cant say I know anything about Rathkeale or Killarney but surely both Avenue and Rock have a decent chance being at home.
Any reports from Bridge Celtic and Rock?

Rinnanna Rovers to win. Bridge Utd not going well at all. (Is there trouble in the camp)
Lifford on a good run at the moment but no better team than newmarket to stop that run.
Tulla Utd conceding alot of goals but can see a draw here.

Bridge Utd have a huge injury list at the moment which includes their 2 goalkeepers. They are down to the bare bones at the moment but once them players start coming back from injury you should see an improvement in their results.

Any predictions for this weekends fixtures?

Husquarna Maloney Garden Machinery Premier Division League
Bridge United A V Rinnanna Rovers A
Lifford V Newmarket Celtic A
Tulla United A V Hermitage A

F.A.I. Junior Cup 3rd Round Clare/Kerry/Desmond Area
Avenue United V Rathkeale
Rock Rovers V Killarney Celtic

Can see Kilkishen Celtic knocking out bunratty, any one else agree.Bunratty arnt going great and kilkishen managed to knock out lifford in last round so will fancy there chances. It would be great to get 3 clare teams in next round and at least the clare teams have home advantage and at least der wil be 1 team deffo in next round.Hopefully it will be the 2nd div team....no bias or anything :)

Think the Avenue C report there is spot on. Think it was the best Avenue performance in my time at the club. From 1 to 16, management and supporters, everybody put in a great shift. Russ was a colossus at the back and Mikey Mahoney had their LOI full back in knots and taught the lad was gonna get sick the amount of times he was turned inside out. Saying that they were a decent team, people that saw the game were saying it was the best 0-0 they had seen. Anyhow we will be trying to repeat that performance come sunday when again we will host a very decent side in Rathkeale.
lad was going to get sick from being turned ha thought i was going to get sick reading this post give it a rest man

Super result for Rock and good to see Clare temas progress. Hopefully Avenue will follow Rock through to the next round! Hickey will get the plaudits and deservedly so because he was a step above everyone else but a great dogged team performance and 3 superb goals.
How strong will Limerick be this weekend? Will the players from Pike/Fairview be playing as I heard they are not in favour of playing the Oscar Traynor?

noteable absentees - Stephen Kelly , Johnny Okoru , Daryl Eade , Pa Fahy , Seamus Lawlor , Mike O Malley , Davy Wall , Shane O Connor , Daithi O Connell , Davy Hogan , Mike Devitt , Colm Mullen ,Brian kelly , Derek Byrne

Have the above been notified - were they given a chance ? - - given the above talent compared to some of the lads who have made the panel , are there mistakes been made , is favouritism a factor ?

Just giving our opinion BTW

Any other opinions ?

Iv 'heard' that Mike O'Malley has called it a day, as regards the county team. Davy Wall has more than likely had enough of the Oscar Traynor in the past. Daryl Eade and Seamus Lawlor were'nt asked.
Whats the story with Liam Murphy (crusher).....? He was one of clares better players last year.

Best of luck to all involved anyhow......lets hope there's a good turn out on the day

Nugent (Cb)
Maxwell (rm)
o rourke (cm)
Mc Carthy (cm)
Mc Naboe (cM)

O Connell (CF)

Agree some lads not in squad who would make massive additions to it, Stephen kelly, Daithi O Connell (Devil fish was he approached), Colm Treacy, young centre back from rock think he is russell, and nobody from hermitage?? Mannion and Dullagahan are as good if not better than any player in the squad. Not having a go just given an opionion. Best of luck to all involved should not fear limerick as we are every bit as good as them at this level.

4.russell
5.collins
6.o rouke
7. maxwell
8.mcCarthy
9.hickey

Don't think Hickey is as good as people make out on this site watched him good bit with Limerick last year, mile of the pace. If Limerick have full team on Sunday ie pike and the view players he wont get a sniff, 3-1 to Limerick.

Good passing side and really punish teams when on a good day. Two lively wingers, the lad up front [McDonagh], fast good finisher too but can go missing in games. CB Russell strong in the air but slow and gives too many frees away try drag him out the field. They normally play 3-5-2. Get in their faces and they WILL lose their composure and more often than not discipline goes out the window too.

€10 into Digifone for the Oscar Traynor match today, absolute disgrace. It was €10 into the Aviva for the FAI Cup Final ffs. Joke.

The circuspony
15/11/2010, 8:28 AM
It was only €5 into the Aviva.
Limerick were a classy team..........they were well used to playing at that high tempo! I dont think any other 11 from clare would have done any better.
Premier League wide open at the moment. Few big teams near the bottom and a few small teams near the top makes for an entertaining few months.
Hey 'Onetrickpony'......surely we should be supporting all the local teams in the FAI, i'm not a great fan of that last trick of yours!!!

That wasn't very nice one trick, but at least we don't have to rely on one player to win games for us. If your star man got injured I think ye would free fall.but that's just my opinion.and Russ is a smart footballer to know not to get dragged round the pitch.

Maybe bunratty and bridge utd, 3rd last team will prob survive the playoff. Ya i do think Rock are a strong team and could win it, think Tulla might surprise a few. Not saying they will win it but heard thay had 19 players at there last game so could finish in good position. They 4 lads on the clare youths aswell.

Limerick could've been 2 up before they got the 1st. Hickey equalised, took the goal very well but it was totally against the run of play. Limerick created a good few chances in the 2nd half. Their 3rd goal was the pick of the goals imo, great cross and nice volley from Barry. Only for Healy in nets it could've been 6 easily. Clare created no real chances at all in the game, the 3-2 scoreline doesn't paint a true reflection of the game imo

Hard luck to clare. Limerick were better organized and their quality on set pieces gave them the edge on the day. €10 entrance was a bit steep alright as well.

Looking at Sundays fixtures. 4 draws in the premier
Is quite the possibility. You'd get a nice price on that.
Good to see one trick pony back under a different name after being suspended. Welcome back.you should let the rathkeale guy know that avenue play 4-4-2
