Correct.
Great signing for Manus.......unfortunate loss for Avenue, though they are sure to make a new signing or two in the next few weeks.
Lets hope he stays on the Clare Panel, they need to be firing on all cylinders to beat this talented Galway side.
Any chance Martin O'Neill from newmarket might get drafted in, now that he is fully fit and scoring goals for fun ?
It is looking in all likelyhood that Martin won't kick a ball again for the remainder of the season. He is very unlucky with all the injuries especially as he was going so well.

Thanks for reply. I follow all the big games in Tipperary Southern District League. Don't know much about Clare league but aren't Avenue and Newmarket Celtic the top teams so their clash should be a good one. Winners away to St.Michaels so I will look forward to a good game whoever they play. Again thanks.

Just taught i'd share this with ye - - Rineanna v Hermitage
Rule 52: In the case of abandoned or unfinished fixtures the Executive Committee shall investigate the circumstances, and shall have the power to order a reply, play the unexpired time in 2 (two) equal periods, or award the points or tie. In the case of unexpired time being ordered to be played, it will not be compulsory for the teams concerned to field the same players who participated in the original fixture, but it will be compulsory that each team start with the same amount of players as they finished with at the time of the abandonment or unfinished fixture.
I do not think this rule is valid. Unexpired time in any format cannot be played.

I suppose its down to the commiteeeee - but if AVE / Bridge can do it cant see why it would be changed - precedent set IMO !

nononsense, Newmarket top of the league at present and avenue league and cup champions from last season so like you said the game should be a good one. Whoever wins the game have been given one of the toughest draws to progress in the following round against St Michaels.

Planners, has there been an outcome with the abandoned game. Heard the game is to be replayed in full with score back to 0-0 and rineanna back up to 11 players, is this true?

i think once a game has passed a certain amount of time ( 70 mins??) then it doesnt get replayed , depeNding on the circumstances.I THINK!!
so comparing ave/b. clt 78 mins gone ave 2-0 against 10 men
to rin/tage 20 mins gone 1 nil tage is like chalk and cheese IMO
hopefully games go ahead this weekend, some teams havent played in 4 or 5 weeks

Thanks for that info. St.Michaels could be getting very familiar with Avenue - I see they are drawn at home to Avenue or Ballina in F.A.I. Junior Cup.

If game is played again it would be a joke. Game last year wasn't played it doesn matter that there was only 10 min left thats a long time in soccer. Avenue getting the 3 points more than likely helped the commitee come up with there outcome again this year they're a disgrace.

This is what really gets to clubs and players no consistency in decisions made by the league. Not the first time this has happened

On behalf of all the avenue players and staff I would to apologise to st micheals for the delay of the match between avenue/nof.but the cdsl can predict what the weather is going to be like on a sun morning during a saturday morning meeting.I know we wanted to play. Make the decision Sunday morning.it's a joke.every divison is itching
to play.
waT has been done to hermitage this week i think is a discrace from been up 1 0 and playing against 10 men to having to play a replay from scratch is just wrong i know what i'll be doing if we go down 1 0 and the game isnt going our way there might not be too many games finished out for the rest of the season

How do they expect to get respect from clubs when they dont show it themselves. Seems to me you need a representative on the committee to be heard.

yea the clare league as ruled that the game is to be replayed with 11 v 11, 90mins. although the refs arnt happy over and are kicking up a fuss so it may not stand.

From a neutral point of view, I cant see how this a fair resolution of the situation, if Hermitage had got to finish the orginal game being one goal up and one man up at the time the game was abandoned the chances were fairly high in their favour to get all 3 points. What was the decision of the Clare League on the outcome of the Rhine Rvers and Kilmaley game being abandoned?

what do you mean it may not stand have they made a decision on whats to happen or not, if they've already made sa ruling dont see how they can then change this decision

Great win for Ave and the best of luck to them in the next round - NOF seem to have had all the luck by all accounts with the great Russell not playing and an man sent off after 10 / 15 mins - - is it a case of the reds not being able to step up to the plate when called upon ?

In fairness the Avenue red card came no earlier than the half-hour mark, it was around 10 minutes before half-time. Newmarket were reduced to 10 men with 20 minutes to go (In my opinion harshly, a yellow would've been enough. Don't think it warranted a straight red). At least we didn't get the game abandoned :)

I thought both reds were a small bit harsh to be honest.
Ave deserved the win over all. Hopefully they can put it up to a very strong st michaels next week.
Planners any info on yere great away win

Full 90 mins were played this time - Johnny A scored 2 from midfield and Gary OC scored the other - JC was outstanding in goals apparently , along with PF and EK at the back - DS came on but found it hard to stick the pace - - up to 4th now and 8 points of that all important 21 :)
Ave seem to have had alot of reds over the last while - obviously dicipline is a problem !
Best of luck to them

Any truth that Bridge Celtic have a complaint in about the game yesterday. Seems one of the Rovers officials broke wind during the game and BC are claiming it was unsportsmanlike behaviour...BC want the game replayed, they have a 5-0 headstart and Rovers to play with 8 men.
Worth a shot I suppose after recent decisions made...
