great speech from a great player just thought it was a good way to finish of the season.
Have to agree with my collegue - and the celebration in the dressing room afterwards and the words spoken there - inspirational
its great to see

It's a pity you never had the priviledge of celebrations like that HK in your long and industrious career!!! But no need to be envious next time ask newmarket can you come into the dressing room and they might let you sing championas with them. At least that way you can say you have experienced that winning feeling at least once ;)

Play on. Did planners not win a clare cup with rinanna a few years back.. I believe he's next rinanna manager too so he might add to that

Second his biggest contribution to that cup success was opening the bottle of champagne outside the honk on the Monday!!

My opinion is that a team is bigger than the first 11 out on the field - its a squad game now - i did play in that great win and was instrumental in the set up of play - and by the way i couldnt open the bottle either - it was a casey special - one he didnt drop { for a change } :)

Heard through the grapevine that the Clare League will be holding a memorial tournament for Hugh Kelly in August between the four league winners Newmarket Celtic, Shannon Olympic, Rhine Rovers and Coole. Very good idea

Ya great idea fair play to whoever came up with it. Also The Munster Football Association is to organise a new competition for the 2011-2012 season. The competition will be for the winners of the top League Divisions of all affiliated Junior Leagues. As there are 12 affiliated Junior Leagues in Munster the competition will entail the following matches:1st round: 4 games and 4 byes
Quarter Finals: 4 games
Semi Finals: 2 games
Final: 1 game

What has Colm Ryan done for you to say he has pedigree... O ya he kept rinnanna in prem for 2 yrs... And won a poxy cup .. If I'm right they didn't play any prem teams on route.. Mike o malley will be a good appointment for Newmarket .. Well respected

They would be a very experienced combination.

No surprise at all, he would be a good addition to any club with ambition.

I don't understand why a club would need a manager to arrive in with a group of new players and see this as improving things.
Especially when these players have been relegated with their last club. Adding a few players to strenghten the squad is always needed but from what I hear bringing a load of players in to replace those there can't be good for a club and in the long term knock it backwards.

You need to get a bigger screen or font on that mobile of yours, you're missing stuff and just repeating what has been said already. :)

I heard from a little fish that Stoney was on the move to either the Rats or the Bridge - also NOF have allegedly admitted they are at a loss as to who is going to take the reins next year - pity considering the near perfect league run - cant understant a winning combination dropping out after one season !!

so why don't you do the referee course then and improve things :D..
just have to accept that referee's will make mistakes and unfortunatly some poor ref's out there but some good ones as well and its always been that way.

I agree oldgit... I bet you the refs are saying the standard of football and the abuse they get is getting worse too.. Any person out of work should do the Ref course if any good you could make €88+ on a Sunday for 2 prem matches ... all tax free..And if a player you could do schoolboys.. Help out the fixture secretary

would hope the lads doing it are 100 % commited to being refs no matter what the money is and there must be a load of ex players out there who could bring another dimension / views to the game.

Just read on the CDSL Site that Bunratty & Cratloe have joined forces.
Bunratty Cratloe FC will be their name, best of luck to them.

I find that very strange, Cratloe mid table first division team and rats were league winners just over 2 years ago. Anyone from the respective new team/club any comments on why they went this route? Maybe they see it as a rebuilding process and in the long term see it as the best way to go.
Any 1 know when league fixtures are starting in the premier this year?
Obviously neither has folded.. It will obviously be bunratty's pitch they will use but I'd think cratloe would have more players..
Obviously they have both folded, seen as they are beginning in the 3rd Division, so it's a new club, maybe just in name but a new club all the same.
To have remained in the 1st division one of them would have had to fold and just sign the players from the other club.
Good luck to them, taking a few steps back with a long term view can be a good thing.
