Avenue are the flag bearers of Clare soccer . They have been for the last twenty years and its not going to change anytime soon . I would say still favourites but thats just my opinion not sure what the odds are .

i know it's valentines weekend in all ,, buy them some flowers & chocs and express your love to all at avenue :D ... some flag bearers for clare soccer after their great success over the last numerous years you would think this great club would have their own pitch / changing roooms !!
oh by the way think newmarket / newtown / bridge utd / bunratty / bridge celtics might disagree with avenue being the best team in clare over the last twenty years

Best of Luck to Avenue on Sunday.
It's good to see a Clare club team competing at the latter stages of a national competition no matter what your club allegiances.
11 of the last 23 titles in Clare shows the measure that the rest have to aim for.

not caught just dislike the lovefest for avenue .. no disputing their achivements over the last 20 years and some magnificent teams/ players during that time . but you would think they created clare soccer at times with all the hype here and clare people/ champion .. and believe it or not best of luck to all at avenue on sunday a tough game away to st michaels..

best of luck to avenue,, they could spring a shock i reckon!! good price i bet..

cant see them winning league, they wont be able to win 7 or 8 in a row to get back on track, would make their league game vs nwmrk very interesting if they did theough

Rule 52: In the case of abandoned or unfinished fixtures the Executive Committee shall investigate the circumstances, and shall have the power to order a reply, play the unexpired time in 2 (two) equal periods, or award the points or tie. In the case of unexpired time being ordered to be played, it will not be compulsory for the teams concerned to field the same players who participated in the original fixture, but it will be compulsory that each team start with the same amount of players as they finished with at the time of the abandonment or unfinished fixture.

looks like league will decide outcome at one of their secret meetings ;)

Well in fairness Newmarket are going very well so they are entitled to be confident, they are in a great position and deserve to be where they are. Up to the rest to play catch up

don't need to elaborate further, just my opinion of which i'm entitled to.. but here goes just for you, thought they were unlucky when they lost 3-1 away to newmarket. conceded early o.g, then penalty and had some good chances that day. so should be good game i'd say. Hope this helps you!

Watched tulla at the weekend they were very unlucky to loose (again). But they seem to be on a slippery slope. Newmarket look like 2010/2011 champions. Cant see avenue winning all their games in hand. Thats the pros/cons of doing well in the cups.

I suppose so - sur NOF have more or less won the league { according to them } and will probably win the cup as well { according to them even though they struggled to beat a 3rd division team } so there's not much point in talking about it !!

Newmarket did have a tough game against Coole park yesterday. We were in control for the majority of the game and got the win against a team that will be im sure in the premier in the next 4/5 years. They are a welcome addition to the league and I wish them the best of luck for the remainder of their season.

Planners - no one in newmarket is talking about winning anything. Stop stirring.
A question for you - now that ye are out of the cup and ye are safe in the league will the squad still be motivated for the rest of the season?

Never a question on the rovers motivation , and i'm sure they will do all they can to assist NOF to the dizzy heights and keeping them at the top of the table !!!

Slow start from Bunraty allowed Avenue into an early 2-0 lead. Pegged one back before the break and got deserved equaliser with about 8 mins left of normal time. Avenue were stronger in extra time and got winner in 1st half thru Con Collins. Bunratty had goal disallowed late on but Avenue deserved their win overall.

it would be great to see a avenue/lifford final.but there is some tough teams left. i hope nof defeat in the cup derails their league run. what are the chances of getting our league game with nof pushed forward as we all know its penciled in for last game of the season if we can go on a run ourselves

Ya like it was last year. 3 nil. I'm sorry but a final should have 2 heavyweights in it. I'm all for the underdog but not in the final, sorry.a town derby is what will pull a big crowd for once.

plenty of well supported clubs in clare outside of ennis ... i'm sure tulla or bridge celtic would bring plenty of support to a cup final .. and since when have lifford become one of the heavyweights of clare soccer !!!

interesting results at the weekend, just shows on any given day that any body is susceptible to getting beaten, fair play to the underdogs..
Im sure there will be another upset or 2 before the cup is lifted, tulla and lifford will be a good game, especially after great results on sunday..
odds for the cup/ league are about right as well. bookies are never ( usually!)wrong
