Not a barage HK, just one complaint and a letter....water under the bridge now. Sure, if we are losing, I'll get Cousin Syl to abuse the ref, get the match abandoned and we can have a replay at a later date!! Best of luck against Ruan, hope to see you below in the next round.

rovers hoping to spring a shock against their lovely neigbours next sunday planners?
going well the last few weeks, should be a good game..
looking at munster thread ,avenue got off to a terrible start against michaels..
hopefully rock will regain some pride back for clare,,, and avenue in the fai im sure they would love another crack at michaels again,,, 2 very tough games,, any one think either have a chance?

To be honest Rock don't stand a chance in the Pike field on Sunday. Pike will hammer them. Pike aren't 2/1 favs for FAI for no reason

Limerick League is supposedly the best junior league in the country and Pike have won it 6 out of the last seven years. Rock have lost their last two league games, doesnt bode well for them. Ballina have had a lot of success over the last few years also. Avenue would want to be at their best. Home draw may play to their advantage.
Any reports on the weekends games?

Did he not get sent off in the last game.
the sending off occurred about 5 or 6 weeks ago then served his automatic 1 game ban V bridge cel and played sunday v tage and got winner when he shouldnt really have been on the pitch, that must have been sickening for tage. why has it taken the cdsl so long to sort out this suspension. Alledgedly the red was for use of the elbow/arm so according to clare soccer website this warrants a minimum 4 game ban -
SENT OFF; Fighting, kicking, elbowing, punching, stamping or unsporting conduct towards match official
Minimum four match suspension

Ya its totally unprofessional. There is no way a player can only get a 1 game suspension for an elbow.
Dont agree with mouldedstuds re Avenue. Id say they will not want to play Michaels again.6-0 is an awful beating.

i think the game was played the 9th - hardly 5/6 weeks ago - - CDSL is a voluntary outfit - not the FAI - - give them a break

1 game is automatic unless notified otherwise by the CDSL - - delay in getting the letter to the club sec. apparently - - of course the player is going to play unless otherwise notified
In any case all that is happening is a replay with the game starting at 0-0 and 11 aside each - fair play to the CDSL for using common sense !

no the game that was abandoned rovers v hermitage was played well before Christmas. Bridge utd v bunratty was postponed the same day as it and that was at least 5 weeks ago therefore the league has had 5 weeks min. to deal with this. maybe they decided that 1 game was suffice which must be the case if it has dragged on this long.

didnt know secretaries played on the 1st 11 although looking at some of the squad in NOF you would have to question who is picking the team !

Rovers vs Hermitage was played on 12th december. there was a blanket postponement of all clare games on jan 9th. i know theyre only voluntary but still some things do baffle me with them. just 2 weeks ago lee's road was closed early on the saturday, rock rovers were informed their mjc game with pike was not on. the LDMC were not told by clare league until close to 8pm the saturday night so it was fairly late when pike were informed, actually about 6 hours later than rock. a simple quick call from clare league there would have sorted it but no they couldnt manage this

contrary to some peoples beliefs, avenue would love to get the chance to play st michaels again.... but a very tough test on sunday stands in the way..
an awful start totally scuppered any chance avenue had and would agree with the posts from their fans on the munster cup thread, it wasnt as simple as the 6-0 shows..
fingers crossed the boys win sunday and set up another crack at one of the top teams in ireland
best of luck rock as well,, a very hard ask and will do well to minimise the damage to 3..

Missing a few bodies ourselves but that's why we have a squad.
SL served his suspension against Rock Rovers.
I thought the ref had a good game bar one decision but sure we all make mistakes.

Well done to Avenue yesterday. Nice to get another crack at Michaels... Wont be 6-0
next time. Also to Rock who gave a good acount of themselves in Pike.

Really disappointing for rock yesterday. Fought very hard for 90 mins and then conceded a sloppy penalty in first minute or two of extra time. Down to 10 men and it was a big struggle after that obviously.

ave 5 -1 ballina
great win, badly needed after the week befores result,, nice to get another chance to compete against st michaels
started strongly and deserved to be 2 up after 20 mins,,alan roche and david smith.. they got one back from some slack marking from a free , but 3-1 then at halftime was a fair score line, john healy made a great save midway thru the 2nd and thats all ballina really had ,, great individual goal by young alan roche and an excellent free kick by davey macarthy sealed a good day.
sunday week should be interesting and hopefully a big improvement..

Avenue are the flag bearers of Clare soccer . They have been for the last twenty years and its not going to change anytime soon . I would say still favourites but thats just my opinion not sure what the odds are .
