this appointment will make villa contenders once again. saints are getting on a bit and town were less than impressive last year. if they got foggy and a few more back they will be right up there. i dont think two mile borris will welcome the news though, a tug of war for players will go on all summer

Not sure about saints getting old as at least 3/4 of their squad under 26/27 with at least 3/4 youths coming through
As for town if they get help up front for young maguire they will b thereabouts next season and I also think Celtic will be strong next year so I believe peake will need more than Noel Byrne (as good as he is ) to compete u think they will need 6/7 players as they were so far off the pace last year
nononsense

Republic of Ireland amateur team drew with Turkey 0-0 to-day in European Nations Amateur Cup, being played in Portugal. The irish team dominated throughout but were denied victory by a brilliant turkish goalkeeper. Adrian Walsh (Carrick Utd) played in goal and Chalky Walsh (St.Michaels) captained the side. Paul Breen and Chris Higgins were unused. Ireland will play their next game on Thursday against Serbia.
