i know the season is barely over and technically we still have the lawson final to play but has anybody got any credible transfers that may happen in premier/1A over the summer months?.i have a feeling there may be afew this year.everybody bar pike and fairview need to strengthen there squads without a doubt.alot of teams were a bit thin on the ground squad wise towards the end of season.and with carew and balla getting no younger squad wise i think we could see alot of activity?

The top two will strengthen the most as usual.

i wouldn't be surprised if tommy hefernan moved into a bigger club no disrespect to kilmalock but i could see a few teams having a go at him he's definately good enough...

If pike had their full squad out there is not much you would change....
gk - Smackers - (could do with a back up)
defenders - corbett, mitchell, mcgarry, mullins, enright, purcell, (could do with another left full as cover)
Midfield - Hartnett, o'grady, o'shea, gregg, hanrahan, o'donovan, barry
Strikers- maloney, boyle, sniffer, nabs

probably missed a few names from the list also.....

alot of the players are interchangable with a number having played in diferent positions in the team (in some cases 3 different positions)

Out of that list pat barry will join boro thus summer, can see purcell going back to park, sniffer is only good for 4 maybe 5 games.. mullins is good enough for league of ireland and limerick have to be knocking on his door.

spot on ted.why would tommy want to travel in to limerick 3 times a week when his local club are playing in the same division.but i know from last year all the lads enjoyed playing alonside each other and with the lads coming through we should be challenging shortly for honours and the likes of tommy will still be young enough to play.they all know it is a massive achievement to stay in premier with a team built from all locals and the main thing is to keep it going and not travel for the sake of winning a medal and letting down all your close mates when as isaid earlier its only a matter of time before we are challenging for honours.

As i said on a previous thread i was delighted to see kilmallock stay up they play lovely football and yer u17 did so well this year, but i dont think that ye'll challenge for honurs any time soon, no disrespect meant in that comment i just think that teams like pike and fairview have ways and means of getting guys to leave a club that they have been loyal to for years, $$$$ and the guarantee of challenging for league munster jr and fai ...I hope im wrong and tommy stays put.....

i would not take that for granted look at wembley they won a few fai under age in recent years but dont compete at the top lost a lot of very good under age players to so called bigger clubs in town

A lot of the players Wembley lost went back to clubs that they originally played football with when they were underage. Others went to Limerick and then there are the few that just dont play anymore.

With Kilmallock I think most, if not all, of there under age players grew up with the club. That would help them keep those players and the fact that they are all from the area as well. (I dont know much about the kilmallock teams and Im guessing that they all come from the town :) )

sure you guys at pike say that every year and come the start of the year its the same old faces up at pike with maybe 1 or 2 new young lads so nothing chages just wishful thinking on your part

yes but would you not think a few of the kilmallock lads once they finish playing youths football if good enough would be tempted to play with the view or pike.

is he by any chance an ex granville and pike schoolboy who played in england as a pro for a number of years?

spot on 99.9% of all kilmallock teams are from kilmallock and if you go back a long way not many if any went to limerick to play soccer.thats the difference out the country its very easy to keep the players together as its one big happy family and they all grow up and hang out together and enjoy playing together.
