Never made it into our first team when he was here. Saw him playing against our under 21s last year too, didn't really catch the eye. He's only about 21 or so though and was in some Ireland underage squads so he may improve I suppose.

Are Bohs fans not getting seriously worried over the amount of cash they are spending? 3 of their strikers Crowe, Byrne and Fenn must be costing them the guts of 8-9k a week.

I'd be starting to fear for them going down the same road as Shels...

Id say fenn could be going elsewhere to get more starts under his belt.

We have offloaded nine players and are in the process of releasing at least two more. We have signed three players that would walk into any first team in the league that will not cost any more than the combined cost of the released players. Best bit of closed season business I can remember from Bohs. Please ignore the last comment if we sign O`Callaghan:eek:

True, although I always thought he would improve if he got more games under his belt but then again if there is one thing John Ryan knows, it's whether a striker is good enough and obviously he didn't think Darragh was up for it. Still young though but when a 19 year old is moving to his fourth league club it's not good!

Another thoroughbred leaves us for our arch-rivals. :D

Stevie is a decent midfielder. Can create good stuff and can also be an invisible man at times. Not a bad signing though, I think he needs a fresh start.

County In: Michael Comerford from Kilkenny City FC

Sorry I have to laugh at that one, how could anyone sign Mickey Comerford? He only played for City the last few years because he was going out Jimmy Rhatigan's daughter & was only in the starting line up in the really desperate years. I think the squad is looking better for next season already!

Fair enough. Was superb against us last season so I'm willing to give him a chance.

MALONE BECOMES A MON AGAIN
Kildare County player Ian Malone is returning to his first League of Ireland club as he rejoins Mick Cooke’s squad at Kingspan Century Park.

Malone won Young Player of the Year in the 2005 season at United and made the move to Kildare County for the following season. He is United’s third signing from Kildare County as Cooke strengthens his squad.

Agree. I always had a lot of time and respect for Ian. When he left us the last time he rang me to let me know and to wish us all the best. Very few players have that kinda manners and I have always said that he would be very welcome back at any time.

Also he is a solid solid player and as a mate of mine pointed out the sale of Mondogs will shoot up again as Iano likes his mondogs!

Has it been announced yet?

I think we're sick of your "offers", so as punishment, we've sent Dick ****ing Shakespeare to negotiate. Be afraid. Be very afraid! :p

Do UCD have any players left?
One or two. Fortunately, last season we had our biggest squad ever in terms of strength in depth, so we've still got a decent first XI, along the lines of Gregg; Mahon, Bermingham (currently training with us; may well re-sign), Kenna, McNally; Finn, King, Fitzgerald, Doyle; Byrne, McWalter. The bench is where we get a bit weak now. But there's a few players training with us at the moment with a view to signing.

Worth noting that this time last year, we'd never heard of McFaul, Gallagher, Bermingham, King, Fitzgerald, Bogdan, Bolger and a couple of others, so I'd be hopeful that a few of those training will be able to slot straight into the first XI. But I'd much rather we hadn't lost as many players as we have though.
