Watched the Charlton v West Brom match yesterday and Paddy McCarthy put in a MOTM performance. He was really excellent particularly in the last quarter when West Brom threw everything at them. Don’t know how consistent he is but an option for us I am sure.

leicetser v hull 0-2
no Irish these days for leicester, but Caleb Folan for the visitors, who to my disappointment was kept out of the starting eleven by the silken and sublime footballing God that is Dean Windass.
He did however join proceedings with about 20 to play, joining Windass up top and immediately issuing him some instructions on how and where he wanted it flicked on.
His first involvement pressurised the CB into conceding a throw from the type of header he had previously been sending down the middle, and Folans first time in posession killed the game and sent some home fans to the exits. It came from a long high punt which the CB's should have dealt with but inexplicably did'nt. Folan was in behind and, his first touch removing the trailing CB from the equation, he then cleverly drifted accross the covering fulback, thus removing him. he then calmly took it on and finished accross the keeper to confirm three pionts for his team. very well taken I thought, as he had work to do when he picked it up.
after that, it was all about the basics, keeping posession, offering a decent outlet and keeping it simple, which he did on about five or six occasions. he also showed a good burst of speed on two occasions when defending from the front, once covering ground well when his side were defending a corner to stop leicester picking up easy posession from the half clearence and on another when the CB he was chasing rolled it to the LB, only for Folan to make up the ground quickly enough to make the opposong player have to hoof it, and give it away.
a nice little cameo from the man, and his seventh of the season (i think), if we are looking at Lee, Morrisson, etc, could he become an option? his side are in the playoff spots at present.

Ciaran O'Brien came on as a sub for Colorado against LA Galaxy on Saturday night with about 20 minutes to go. He looked to be a decent player, doing well in midfield, broke up a few LA moves and passed well until a few minutes remaining when he promptly hacked down Carlos Ruiz and got a red card for his troubles.
The other Irish MLS player Ronnie O'Brien should play on Thursday night in the opening game for San Jose.

Delap had a solid enough game, and was a threat on every throw-in past half.

O'Shea overlooked in the centre of defense in favour of Pique, alongside Ferdinand.
If I were O'Shea I'd be packing my bags in the summer, but I've got a feeling he'll stick around for his 15 minutes of fame each week.
you'd seriously wonder what the lad must be thinking. This time last week he was first choice off the bench but this week he's been leapfrogged by not one, but two defenders (Silvestre and Pique)....If he doesn't do something in the summer it'll just confirm everyone's suspicions that he's in it for the money and title of "Manchester United squad player"

Looks like Richard Keogh is impressing at Cheltenham - encouraging considering our current dirth of Decent Centrebacks.
Keogh extends Robins loan deal
Bristol City defender Richard Keogh has extended his loan spell at League One outfit Cheltenham Town until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old has made six appearances for the League One side since moving to Whaddon Road on an initial month-long deal in March.
"Richard has been a tremendous asset for us. It's a big plus to have him for the rest of the season and I'm thankful again to (Bristol City manager) Gary Johnson for loaning him to us," Cheltenham boss Keith Downing told his club's official website.
"Richard has struck up a good understanding with Shane Duff from day one and I think they are as good a centre-back pairing as any in the division."

Ronaldo and Rooney leepfrogged too? Ferguson always rotates his squad for CL games that don't count for anything, don't see why this would be any different.

Rooney and Ronaldo were leapfrogged as starters for rotation purposes.. O'Shea was leapfrogged as a replacement option. I agree with Dr Ogba...
