Figured it between 600 and 800 but nowhere near 1000. Loads of kids for sure
Had guessed around 850. No point in them lying tbf

5,338 at Pats Bohs tonight. The highest attendance the ground has seen in over 20 years thanks to the new extra capacity
I never thought id see the day the league became this popular. I remember the days when I could watch the first half from my ST seat in the main stand and then stroll over to the camac for the second half no hassle.
806 in Bishopsgate tonight. Nice crew up from Kerry, 50 plus.

I remember in 1996 a Pats Bohs game there as being given a 6.000 attendance but thinking now I can't see where that could come from given the stand was less than half the size..no stand behind the goal and loads of unused areas

I hate to say it but it didn’t look remotely like 806 based on the main stand and the 2 behind the goals.

You'll often have a couple of hundred under/to the side of the camera that you never see on stream if there's a bit of a crowd. I think the big stand holds about 1.5k, so can easily have 3/400 in there and still look relatively empty :D
If the place can hold 5k total, that's just over 15% capacity, so even when there's over 1,000 it won't look heaving.

There were Longford crowds provided last year that did not match the attendance. There was one where I had photos of all parts of the ground while the game was in play at various points throughout, counted several times and the gap between the attendance and attendance provided was very significant. I doubt they numbers they provide are 'bodies in the ground', perhaps they have a different calculation of tickets distributed.

Something I found out recently is that in England every attendance given includes every season ticket sold by the club that season whether they attend or not ,I don’t know if it’s the same here but would explain some of the attendances given I think…..

It will slip under the 2k mark, in the 1.8k next game. Cobh will be the next 'bumper' gate of 2300 imo and the the slow fall off until the run in. Maybe there well be a less fickle tendency this season bt I think patterns will be similar.
Cobh v Athlone attendance went under the expected 1,000 mark to 827, because of heavy rain during the game.

Weather really affected the crowd, thought they would at least break the 1,000 mark given the good start, a status yellow rainfall warning earlier in the day might have had an impact? Thankfully the rain stopped about an hour before k.o but came back at the start of the second half.

That's Dundalk's lowest of the season, but one trend that needs to be watched is, I think its a reduction on every game so far, from the high of 2,600 (clearly closer to 3K) on opening night v Athlone.
Would think home to Wexford on Fri will prob see an end to the reduction trend, then Cobh at home after that should swell it a but prob needs to be looked at, missed the Longford game myself as was coaching under age, most games Sat am, but at least that season will finish in later April / early May, also as expected the 80-90% drop in away attendances at this level is also a factor. That is by no means a swipe at any club, full credit to the 30 or so Longford fans, the 100 or so Treaty and whatever Athlone took on day 1, any away fan travelling has to be good, especially to that away end **
**Note to other FD clubs and especially this season, pay the extra 5 euro, head to the stand, 3 or 4 rows at front reserved for away, very good view of the pith, access to upstairs bar, better coffee / tea / snacks, nice crew in that bar too, away fans always well received, god forbid 3 toilet options too.
Terrible really what Dundalk have to offer away fans. Then again Pats and Shels both offer uncovered away ends too.

Dundalk v Wexford - 1,926...................
That's every game in a row now the attendance has dropped for Dundalk, the almost zero away fans are starting to bite, overall crowd was around 100 down on the Longford game, last game at home. Maybe a few hundred headed to the races that were on at Dundalk stadium same night, it looked busy I drove past on the way to the ground.
Would imagine next home game v Cobh should be close on 2,500, but would think crowds will probably hoover around 2k mark all season, then again some of the Mon night league games under SK got just under 2k the very odd occasions.

Ryan Moore was in town tonight so I'd imagine there would have been a slightly larger crowd than usual at the races alright.

There are always distractions elsewhere though and its a well established trend. The save face part is that its a 1st Division crowd. But there hasnt been a whole lot done to look in to crowds, trends, or attendance development. There has been some organic growth regardless over the years which is a positive in the absence of title tilts driving numbers up. Being unlikely that there'll be PL trophy possibility this decade it really is time for the club to look hard at the issue. Catch 22 with Oriel is that it is sufficient for current crowds in most basic ways, when they are dividing up funding.

That's because of the big student away following that travelled to support UCD, I suspect! ?

Is if just me or are there some disappointing crowds in there?, particularly some of the Premier Division ones. We’ve been hearing all about this new stand in Derry for ages and how it takes the capacity up loads and how every game last season was sold out at around 3,600, then it’s opened and there’s only 100 extra people in the ground? Cork with around 3,300 home fans is kind of expected with their ticket prices and form but even so it’s a little disappointing. Rovers crowd is below their average too

I don't think they permit full numbers into the new stand yet. Like most clubs when they are struggling their attendance will drop a fair bit anyway

Kerry attendance was undoubtedly disappointing, but presumably the unseasonably warm weather was a factor.

I could definitely be wrong, but I thought Derry's capacity last season was around 3,350.
However despite the new stand being somewhat restricted, I'm guessing they could have got more than an extra 400 in.
Nevertheless form is likely a factor.
Cork as stated, either need cheaper tickets or to be up near the top of the league. Either would result in those attendances being a good bit higher. If they were challenging for the title I'd expect the Cross to have 6,000+ at most games, even with the prices.
Shams is the real disappointment for me there. I didn't actually think they'd get an attendance that low on a Friday night this year. It's a great thing saying that, when it's still nearly 5,000 people.
However what it does show is how spoiled their fans have been the last few years. It's easy to have a buzz around the place and attract people when you're expecting to win every week.
They're very much going to be in the mix for the title, and as a result attendances will likely trend upwards as the season goes on and they pull themselves away from the mid table pack.
Tallahht must have felt empty last night however.

Leinster game didn’t help the Tallaght attendance last night, we have a lot of walk-up attendees due to large capacity so leaves us vulnerable to drop-offs in non-‘glamour’ games like last night. Still should be getting 5k plus though.

Dont think Nigel posted an uptodate set of attendance stats for this season yet, but aside from the distortion of the 35k at Aviva, we are probably on par with last season, with Cork higher than Dundalk, Shels and Pats higher, Derry and Drogs slighly higher, Rovers below the 6k average of last 2 seasons I'd say. Galway, Waterford, Bohs, Sligo I think are similar to last season.
Either way, this is still a newish phenomena in our league, averages well over 3000, but as Cork are showing, and possibly Rovers, you wouldnt want to be banking on it!

I arrived late due to work. I couldn't get parked, I said to myself jaysus must be 3k here. Walked in and knew it was a smaller crowd than earlier in the season. Does be like that in Longford at times too, people must drive a car, park it and go get another lol

Wonder is there an argument to only show Bohs 'Dalymount' attendances, they will argue though and will have a point its still their 'home' crowds.
Every single PD club showing increases, great to see.
8 of 10 FD clubs also but obv much much smaller base.

Absolutely. Glenmuir,Quay Celtic and Bellurgan also in this and they're well supported sides in the context of nefl .
When Dundalk in the premier all was sorted even the minor division school boy League think they also all changed their nights.
100 ? respect to those leagues, played in all but still think dundalk should have priority on every 2nd Friday .
