Thanks Shearer, outspoken & nigel-harps1954 :)
Classy stuff by a very small minority of Drogs fans last night, on 3 separate occasions and fire brigade guys on hand, deliberately lobbing flares on to the pitch in attempt to damage it,
Why are Drogs fans so keen on doing Dundalk a favour?
Maybe that should be a regular thing actually continuously damage the stupid 4g pitches until we get rid of them.

Wasn't at the game but I was told around 250 Dundalk away to Shels. Prob safe enough to divide that in 10 for the next away game to Sligo !
11 Waterford fans in Galway last night according to a Waterford fan who was there. Long journey for a game that didn't really matter on a wet Tuesday night.

Not sure about that. I got there late and was down the side where the UCD fans tend to sit. If the crowd was 1200ish there was a lot more than 200 UCD fans in attendance.
Actually, as a side note, UCD is way busier on a Thursday than a Friday and I think this fed into their crowd. I’m sure they have tried games on a Thursday before but I wonder should they look at it again. I’ve mentioned it before but my impression is their fanbase has grown a little along with the rest of the league, granted from a much lower base.

I think I remember UCD did play some games on Thursday nights maybe early 00s
Did a bit of googling to find something to confirm and I came across this RTÉ article back 2007 by Ed Leahy before Belfield Park was wound down and end of article confirmed Thursday nights definitely were trialled with tie with sponsor at the time Budweiser. Obviously now with summer football the campus quiet between May-September and lobbyists/wellbeing brigades losing their minds about anything to do with alcohol promotions it's a harder move now but I think they should look into again for February-April and September-November though some teams may oppose Thursday with end of season run-ins etc.

Shouldnt have to praise people for behaving themselves but worth pointing out that with the stadium bursting at the seems there was no segregation of Sligo fans with Rovers fans all around them and zero problems from both sides.
