The one thing being in a job where you're privy to sensitive information, is not being able to share/debunk some absolutely "out-there" thinking.
And they all think you are "just" the ice cream guy.

Been away from the forum most of the day.
If the situation continues as it is, there's no way the game will go ahead in Ukraine. Stop arguing otherwise, it's crass and disrespectful, at best.

It's not neither faux, nor outrage, just disappointment. There's a time and place for levity, maybe not just now.
I appreciate you're trying to be helpful... but... um... which half? Help a fella out, like.
In fairness, you both have a better moral compass than FIFA.
I’m really not trying to be helpful

Because the war isn't in Lviv. The distance between Kyiv and Lviv is massive. It would be like us moving a game from Dublin to Brest in France.
UEFA have already announced all Ukrainian games are on neutral ground, so it won't be Lviv. And Kingdom has rightly pointed out the insurance issues of playing in Ukraine
Putin has said he wants to take all of Ukraine, so you can't judge what'll happen in three months. We might have nuclear war, Ukraine might have repelled Russia, Putin might have accidentally shot himself in the head three times. It's far too far away to be planning for it. And if/when they do get back to playing games, the World Cup playoffs will be their priority. If they're in June, there's no space for our game.
Africa can be a basket case for sure, but I'd challenge you to name an African country as bad as Ukraine right now. South Sudan maybe? They're already playing in a neutral venue.

Editing posts at the first sign of trouble? just as well for the Ukrainians that you're not fighting in Kharkiv Pineapple....
Can't remember what was edited, but you can see it was in two minutes of the post, so probably a typo...

Poland is an obvious option for Ukraine to play their 'home' NL games should it come to that.
The hopes for Ukraine now making the WC play offs depending on a request for postponement whilst war is raging in their homeland look forlorn in my opinion.
Why not Uefa invite the Ukraine ladies team to take Russia's place in the Euro finals even if they have suffered the ignominy of being beaten by NI in a play off?

Any chance of us having new kits for the Nations League?
This stuff is just horrendous. From the jerseys (1990 rip-off) to the training gear to the lounge gear

Looks like we could down to one game in June now (Armenia away) (https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/international-soccer/irelands-nations-league-clashes-with-ukraine-and-scotland-to-be-rescheduled-due-to-world-cup-play-off-41424993.html), as the Scotland v Ukraine play-off is tentatively being moved to June, and both sides would need to keep the second match day free as well.

Play offs should only affect game 1 and 2. Should be no reason Scotland can't play us in game 3. Game 4 will obviously depend on whether Ukraine can field a team come June.
Should also move our home game against Armenia up to game 1 since their game 1 against Scotland will also be postponed.

Our current stuff is awful, I wouldn't buy any of it. I take it they just take for granted that it will sell regardless of what it looks like so they don't bother designing anything decent.

Agree 100%.
Even the training gear is shocking. They’re trying to create some 90s nostalgia bull$hit but it’s just bad.
The early 2020s will be remembered as the worst time for football kits….and Covid ….and Putin

How is this going to pan out now I wonder?
It seems more than likely now, that the only time Scotland and Ukraine will have to play their play off (if it happens at all), is during the NL window in June?
But when and where? Ireland play Ukraine on GW1, Scotland then play Ukraine four days later.
Does this NL game, now become the play off game?
Or are GW1 games postponed and the play off game taking precedence?
Then, depending on who wins, Scotland or Ukraine, another GW game may need to be put in.
Where will the extra games be made up in the international window? Personally I think some of these NL games will be moved to next March
But I can't see the expected NL campaign go ahead in June

The home game against Armenia will be moved up to June to cover game week one and we'll play them away on game week two. Think one issue might be game week three if Scotland make it to the play off final. They might try to get it pushed back claiming the break between play off games should be four days for them too which would put the play off final to June 9th and we play them June 11th.

I'd be shocked if Ukraine are in any position to fulfill football matches by the time June comes around. They'll probably forfeit their place in the WC and drop out of the nations league for this cycle.

Probably better for us.. one, if not both of Scotland/Ukraine could be coming off the low of WC knockout, or been on the **** for 3 days after qualifying.. two packed Avivas in 3 days would be good too

Yeah, it’s hard to see them playing. Certainly home games must be off the agenda, unless the war stops by then, which doesn’t look likely.

Unless things take an unexpected turn I'd expect them to play now. Things moving mostly to the east of the country in terms of the battlegrounds, so western areas such as Lviv should become relatively safe for them to gather and train in.
Apparently they have a training camp lined up for the home based players in the next few weeks. They'll play their home game outside of the country I'd imagine, probably across the border in Poland.
Not sure how many players both teams would have in the Ukrainian team but Dynamo Kiev and Shaktar Donetsk are playing a bunch of friendlies over the next few weeks against teams in Europe as part of fundraising and to probably keep players fit for the play offs
The last squad they had in November 13 of the 23 were from these two clubs and see they are trying to organise games against France and North Macedonia before they play Scotland.

Anyone reckon Kenny should bring a squad of around 30 together for the four June games?
There's bound to be a few injuries midway through the campaign, and it'd be a way to see how players react in a "tournament" style set up.. because four games in 12 days is as close to being at a Euros/WC as you're going to get
