I think Brighton wont sell this summer, but their whole business model is based on selling the likes of Ferguson who they get cheap or free, (Im surprised they not had more bid for Mitoma this summer as a side note) so if an offer comes in thats in excess of the Caicedo fee they will accept it and it'll be up to Ferguson to decide whether to stay or go. I think he'll stay for this season but move on next year. I know hes young but injuries can change a career in a second so with the money he will make from a move he will have to sooner rather than later.
I agree - Spurs would have to offer something like £150m for Brighton to consider it - selling Sanchez and Caicedo means that they have finished the summer with a significant surplus and brought in several good players in the process. I think Ferguson should stay at Brighton - Spurs are a bit of a hot mess at the moment - and nobody knows how Postecoglou will do over the next few months.

Started against West Ham and played the full game. Really tough day out. West Ham seemed to be almost double marking him. He worked very hard. Despite the pressure I think he had 4 attempts on target and he might be a little disappointed not to have done more with 2 of them (although decent saves from keeper). He looked very tired and a bit frustrated from about 70 minutes. I think he’ll have learned a lot from the game.

Brighton were really off their game today. Ferguson had some good moments, and one thunderbolt that was well saved, but quite a few touches that didn't come off too.

Ajax, Marseille and AEK Athens for Brighton in the Europa League. Some great games to get his teeth into. Seriously tough group actually.

Brighton have signed Ansu Fati from Barcelona.
That's a serious signing, and extra competition for Ev unfortunately

Doesn't he usually play wide? I suppose it's more bodies in a crowded attacking room but there's room for both in the team of Fati finds his feet.

Don't worry about Ferguson - the kid is going to be a superstar.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Brighton play with one proper centre forward and Fati isn’t that. I view him as more of a No. 10 or wide player.

Given the difference in profile and the quality and qualities of Fati this is more of a help than hindrance in my view. And Enciso was there anyway so it's just a replacement for him. Is Fati more like Mitoma so could play far side?
Don't get that reaction myself.

If anything having Mitoma creating chances for him on one side and Fati doing the same on the other should be a good thing surely? Ferguson's main competition is João Pedro.

But even at that they are willing to play both centrally and they can also play Pedro wide.
Starts today Vs Newcastle.
Goal for him. Slams it home after the keeper parries away (probably spills - but it was a blemmer) a shot.

Proper poacher's goal. Love it. Keeper maybe distracted by the defender in front trying to block? Not Ferguson's problem anyway!
He’s been a real handful for the Newcastle defence in the first half. Getting the better of Dan Burn frequently. Strong as an ox and great link up play.
Gets his second. Absolute belter from about 25 yards
Stunning strike. Places it in the corner from about 25 yards. Unreal.
£150m bid incoming from Chelsea this January/next summer.

Oh my days - hat-trick.
I understand the Fati signing now. He's there to learn a thing or two off Ferguson

An incredible talent. Our once in a generation world-class player.
I just hope our having an player of his ability to call upon won't be wasted and he gets to play in a major tournament for us.
Hat trick. Took a deflection but I’m giving it to him ;)

Yep. This has all the hallmarks of a proper break-out performance too. How do you put him back on the bench after this?
One for you Tets, who was the last Irish player to score a hat trick in the top flight and last Irish teenager?

I think says everything that needs said.
Looks like he has injury…hobbling a bit but still on.

Jon Walters v Stoke in 2015. Leon Best before that in 2011, and then a hat-trick of Robbie Keane hat-tricks - two in 2003 and the other in 2009.

If the moderately talented 22-year-old Brennan Johnson is worth €55m after scoring 8 PL goals, just how much is Ferguson worth? Is there a better striker in his age category in Europe?

I usually try to be the voice of caution about young players, but Ferguson is the real deal. Not potentially, now.

On the injury scrapheap by 29? Let's hope not!

Well Brighton feel he'll break the British transfer record set by Caicedo's sale and don't think they'll be wrong. Can see Chelsea chasing him like a dog on heat next summer. They love throwing money at Brighton. Arsenal another club that could do with a CF. Big clubs are gonna be throwing big money at Brighton for him.

First goal was a tap-in that fell right to him. Second goal he wasn't closed down for no apparent reason, which is unlikely to happen again. Third goal was a deflection.
He'll be on the bench at Bohemians by next summer.

His mindset is incredible. He's on Sky here and gets asked about his hat trick and responds by referring to getting beat last week.

I don't place much in that hat trick other than to say that the first goal showed great awareness and the second even better awareness of the keeper's position. It is more than likely a one off for Evan. And I'd be just as happy with three one goal performances from him over the next 4 or 5 games. Consistency will be his best friend.

Christ - Michael Owen had scored three top flight hat-tricks by Ferguson's age! I know it was a different era, but that's an utterly phenomenal stat

Owen, before the hamstring troubles was one hell of a player. His pace and finishing were unbelievable. Especially his pace.

That would make him twice as valuable as Erling Haaland.
I kind of poo-poohed the suggestion of a nine-figure transfer back in March. But let's go wild here (and I don't usually go for that, so indulge me this once!) - is Ferguson actually going to be as good as Haaland?
Certainly has a similar brick ****house build about him, a range of goals from pure power to clinical poaching. One of the five youngest players to score ten Premier League goals (obviously Haaland not eligible for that one). Nominated for PFAI Young Player of the Year, which Haaland won - but Evan is what, four years younger?
I'd love to see him get a run of starts now and see what he does. I'm sure his playing time is being carefully managed, but how do you not let him loose after a hat-trick against the side that came fourth last year?
In other news, it's a bumper Fantasy Football week for me, with Ferguson and Haaland up front. 57 points - thank you :)

The short answer to that is no, there isn't. There are plenty of exceptional young attacking players, the likes of Arda Guler, Bellingham and Musiala. But out and out centre forwards are like hen's teeth these days and there's really no other striker out there in the 17 to 19 age bracket who is anywhere close to Ferguson's level.
Nine league goals for Atalanta was enough to convince Man United to spend massive money on Rasmus Hojlund this summer. Ferguson already has 10 in a better league and he's 18 months younger.

I’ve only the 81 so far. Sadly don’t have Evan but have Son, Haaland, Mbeumbo!
Ferguson took his goals well. I said he’d learn a lot from a tough outing against West Ham and it looks like he did. I though until he scored he did look a little bit lower on confidence and not as assertive as in other games. But from when he scored he was superb. Got much more involved in play and gave the centre backs nightmares. His movement is just incredible, comes short goes in behind, near post, front post, not at all predictable but makes sure his midfielders can pick him out.

Quick note - he's hit ten Premier League Goals 238 days younger than Robbie Keane - I know, Robbie also had over 20 in the First Division already but that is still terrific

Keane scored his tenth Premier League goal in his 18th appearance, it's taken Ferguson 24 games to reach ten goals

In just PL games he's played 1177mins in 24 PL games scoring ten goals and two assists.
