So what did everyone make of the Football of festival that was held in cork over the last 2 weeks . Massive to see some legends of the game and the Fai top brass visiting over 50 clubs in cork and giving out over a million euro in grants . Lakewood kinsale carrigaline crosshaven some of the big winners in terms of donations with over 400k going to them 4 clubs some very big projects inCork with lakewoods new Astro Carrigaline 2 Astro kinsale club house and Crosshaven Astro I think . Was their any other big winners what do the grassroots feel about the Fai ? Was it a success . Would be interested on the opinions of the football people from within did they help your club was the visit to your club a success etc .

Lad this is the fai nothing will go outside Dublin and if it do its to tipp to johns club the money from henry hand ball went to the avia so we wer told 2 years later .they had to be pushed to helping the semi pros of Loi.its like Irish water just a name to get some of uafa and FIFA honey pot.they
Won't be to botherd about aul or school boys football.and the lads that went to the clubs got a nice day out of it.
so no money was given to Cork clubs ? The 170k to Lakewood the 100k to Carrigaline the 100k to kinsale the 30k to Crosshaven the cheques ranging from 2.5k to 10k given out at over 50 Cork clubs means nothing ?

Correct I just think it's funny when someone gives out about something that they know nothing about that they slag the powers that be because they know no better . The Fai are open you just need to present a workable plan not just through the hand out and hope something falls into it .

Why the smart arsed response it was a fair question. Was this application for the fai festival of football on the fai website or were specific club's invited to apply for it? Could be just that a lot of clubs didn't notice it. It's not ingrained in the football calender for most I'd think.

Its basically whereever delaneys tour stops next hes brought the agm on tour and created a festival of football week around it. Clubs from county apply for the grants then. N when the time comes good ol john goes on a photographing tour with big cheques conning the masses and guaranteeing another few years at the top table.

Yeah it's like a back patting w*nkfest from what I can make out. I didn't notice it coming up though until after the club's would have been selected so was curious about where the applications where online etc. (Mainly to avoid not being part of it next time, like everyone else I'll lower my morals too for some FAI money)

If your club had to pay for use of a pitch and dressing rooms you might be asking Filofax as you call him how to get some money of the FAI . But your team invests nothing in football. Just a bunch of fellas playing a game of ball is all ye are . Ye aren't a club ye are a team

Its just players they had before coming back and weakening other teams . They will have a good team . Others will be weaker and the Glen will be in Div1 when a lot of those players should as we know be playing much higher
Have you ever won anything ? No one in the AUL that has ever won anything is safe on this that's just my opinion.
