Anyone head out to the game in Turners Cross this evening?
Wondering will it draw a crowd. I personally think a testimonial for an amature player is as ridiculous as it gets.

Sure there are plenty of loyal players in the amature game still. Do you think he could have played professional if it wasn't for his loyalty to rockmount???

All this comment is doing is purely trying to get a reaction. What's the point? Out of curiosity, did you watch the game? If you did, maybe throw up a report. Plenty of higher level teams lost to lesser teams in cups this weekend, were those teams wrong to get promotion? League 1 is more than fair. They have played 5, won 4 and drawn 1. Looks to me like they are more than comfortable at this level.

Kearney the whole of cork know the glen were missing half there team and 1 of their managers, they creased village down the glen park in a friendly, the glen are obviously aiming for promotion and I recon when they get that they’ll go for another treble like they did a few years ago , from what I seen so for that team is the same plus 5 or 6 better player in this time around, all of them missing for the village game , get real mate

Seems to be a lot of anger towards the Glen reading here. The stronger the teams around Cork the better the standard in the league will be. You can't win though. If the Glen were put in AUL 3 and banging 10 goals a game what would be the point of that? The Glen should be in Prem with the quality they have but they have to get a few promotions to get there. I'm sure they will. Good group of lads who are all buddies as well, best of luck to them.

Parasites?
It's not begrudging at all. The Glen are a club who have always had discipline problems with players, management and locals/fans. Referees and opposition have been frequently abused especially in the Glen. Also they have a recent fold to their name, hadn't the balls to keep it going at the time but are back now thinking they are world beaters. Most refs were disgusted they came back that says enough.

well it says it all in your post you clearly have something against them .. I don’t know how you say most refs were disgusted they came back because the last time the glen were in aul it was almost a different panel of refs with all refs packing it in lately. So that’s a load of bull & in regards to discipline you can’t judge a side on there past without even giving them a chance to create a new image for there club. I think it’s wrong and unfair. They are well in the rights to believe they are worldbeaters there is nothing wrong with a confident team.
if you have anymore ridiculous statements to make ill gladly correct you anyway pal.
and the fact you say hadn’t the balls ? folding has nothing to do with balls.
what because crescent are gone now they lack balls too ?
Or glenvale ?
have a day off boy will ya.

For someone who claims to have nothing to do with the Glen you get very bad when someone slags them off. Xmas3formation and yourself make good points though . Somewhere in the middle lies the present state , yes it is mainly new refs, but clubs and opposition teams do hate going down there and it has more to do with idiots on the line that have nothing to do with the club than the club itself which is a shame

look to be fair they are entitled to reform and i hope they bring less issues than before and become a more positive story going forward. i`ll admit my post maybe a good deal overboard. how have they been getting on this season in terms of sending offs etc both on and off the field? does anyone know?

the line I agree but the players shouldn’t be painted with the same brush that the spectators are painted with Jake
its unfair on both the club & players

The club should move out of that pitch. Its a public park . They cant control the spectators then they shouldn't be playing there

I was at that game yesterday watched the full game from the hill , IMO glen should have went in at 1/2 time 4-0 , played fast football on the ground. Ref wasn’t great , called at least 6 off sides for the glen that were on , and about 3 for cathedral and a stonewall penalty. Second half cathedral got better and started playing good football getting level an unlucky OG pushed them ahead 2-1 , but the glen pushed on and equalised , then took a late goal to win it , both teams gave a great account of themselves a pleasure to watch apart from the referee who IMO was criminal, glen deserved their win and look very good as do cathedral, always enjoy watching the glen v cathedral it’s guaranteed good football.

Yes the glen manager was sent off after 20 minutes or so , multiple yellows for both sides , game wasn’t heated or anything IMO the ref was away with the birds

Don’t think I’ve ever heard of an incident in the glen park after a match or before, nor did I hear of any violence towards anyone i.e reffs or away players , what I do know from being at a few games there it’s the closest thing to a galatasaray home game I’ve seen , and that adds to the fear and bad comments towards the glen , this also applies to a few other north side clubs but seems there’s a fair bit of jealousy here towards the glen

Ya the ref was poor for both teams . Throwing out yellow cards for fun and looked lost alltogether . He completely bottled it on a couple of big decisions . Anyone who was playing or watching would agree . Spoiled the game for us and the Glen.

You never heard of any incidents in the Glen park ever? You must be hard of hearing then ! As for Galatasaray comment. I think I have heard it all now.

I full on burst out laughing. Comparing the Glen at home to Galatasaray - I'm sure the lads will be thrilled with that comment.

I think you picked that up Bulldog. I wasn't laughing at the Glen, I was laughing at the comparison. Glen have left their football do the talking. Simple as.
