Ended one nil to Dundalk who also missed a peno. It was a decent enough game that's was very open with some shocking officiating thrown in.

I wonder what the odds would be on a bigger crowd tonight in the Leinster Cup semi than tomorrow evening in the less glamorous FAI cup semi?

Meaningless trophy obviously!

Shows why it's important to play games on one fixed night this proves why midweek games don't work in the loi fans liked their Friday/Saturday night games.Im positive that played on a Monday the crowd would have been halved.

Won't be 1500 at this. 1000 home fans plus 100 or so Rovers

Congrats. But did rovers give you a guard of honour?

No, but this puts added pressure on Bray to consider it now for Friday, this is treble winners now don't forget, League, Presidents Cup now LSC winners, will there even be room in the trophy cabinet for the FAI Cup I wonder.

Another dilemma was my thinking for over 2 mins in what order to list the trophies, I'm happy enough with Presidents first over LSC. Its tremendous excitement really.

Congrats. But did rovers give you a guard of honour?

Incredible but true - no GOH.

However, as a mark of respect to the champions, Pat Fenlon abandon his place in the dugout and sat in the stand.

Apart from sparing the eardrums of the 4th official and Asst Referee, this also meant that Vinny Perth had to make do with tangling with some other randomer on the Rovers bench

Congrats, Dundalk. Good to see both teams showcasing the next generation, in Rovers' case the next generation of players who'll be given no opportunities then shipped out to succeed at other teams. Anybody at the games comment on the standard of football?

I thought it was a fairly decent game. Dundalk put out a stronger line up than Rovers and it showed, particularly after about 30 minutes.

I was sitting a couple of rows away from Fenlon in the stand. I thought it was strange that he choose to sit in the stand. It sent out a strange message to his players.

Rovers lacked the pace to trouble Dundalk.

Saw he was in the stand with Stephen Bradley, no idea why. Would maybe make sense if he let Marc Kenny take the game as it was mostly u19s, not sure why otherwise.

Did the same for the game in Longford, probably allows him a better view of some of the younger players on show. Either that or he just couldn't give 2 f*cks about the LSC. I say the latter 😂

Defo an LSC thing. When Bohs reached the final in 2011, he let Heary take the team too

While Hyland, Blanchard, Luke Byrne, Waters and Ryan Brennan added experience to the Rovers team there was still a significant gap between the two sides. On the evidence of yesterday, none of the Rovers youngsters are likely to make a step up anytime soon

Of the Dundalk starting line up, while only one of John Mountney or Darren Meenan are likely to start in the Cup Final, Gabriel Sava, Shane Grimes, Paddy Barrett, Kurtis Byrne and Sean Maguire are all established players.

It was an enjoyable match played at a decent tempo and definitely more interesting then seeing the established first teamers going through the motions. I also never tire of seeing Rovers take a hiding!

A sublime free by Dillon is going a bit too far Marty. It took a massive deflection off a head in the wall and totally changed the direction of the ball. It was our under 19's and fringe players who started with Dillon, Simon and Haverty coming on in second half. Drums were down to 10 men very early on when their striker slid in on Molloy and connected with Molloys face with his studs. Great to see Pat Flynn get a good run out tonight.

Who thought the LSC could be so exciting? Great entertainment at CCS last night. Only for the senior players that came on and Jamie Mulhall who was super, we would have been beaten by a very good and well organised Drums side. They had a ball cleared off the line with the last kick to save it going to extra time.

Disappointed with some of the younger players, I know they wouldn't be use to playing in competitive senior games against quite physical grown men but had expected more from a few.

What are they doing - mailing individual pairings out to the two clubs involved? Do they know what a website is for (home page currently has January fixture lists ... more up to date than usual)?

Anyone care to share their news here?

Bray Head
12/03/2016, 7:56 PM
Yeah the LFA emailed us and Wexford with our fixture anyway.

No news from any of the other clubs left in the draw. Surely they would have been emailed as well. No wonder clubs don't take this competition seriously when the organisation is so bad.

Well that explains it then.

A couple of weeks ago they tried to stop a website from publishing fixtures because they had a deal with the herald.
Apparently you can't copyright fixtures so they were made look mugs.

They are an amateur minowistic sham of an organisation so it's no surprise there is no official draw details.

They've blocked me on Twitter the gimps! Can't think why.

Fairly sure you can - it's why very few sites will carry advance fixtures for the English leagues (apart from the immediately upcoming game). You've to pay to reproduce the full fixture list.

Maybe that doesn't apply in Ireland though.

Nope the copyright of publishing of fixtures was outlawed in a European court.
