Honestly, I don't even remember posting that, rough night

Yeah for sure, even better woke up to find I came home with the same amount of money I went out with ha.
All this is completely relevant to the lsc of course

Nah, in the LSC even the winners emerge with less money than they went in with.

and this is more interesting than the LSC!

3 quarters have to play
Pats v Crumlin
Longford v Rovers
Newtown v Bohs

Dundalk are through to the semis having beaten Wexford in the only quarter to have been played

None of these three have been played yet have they?

None of these three have been played yet have they?None scheduled either AFAIK. Usually delayed until the LSL season starts, regardless of who's playing.edit; actually I'm wrong. Bohs beat Newtown already: http://extratime.ie/newsdesk/articles/14229/leinster-senior-cup-report-newtown-united-0---2-bohemians/

Can I claim a potential domestic treble for Dundalk again even if its the LSC?

Sure can. Pats treble of FAI Cup, FAI President's Cup and Leinster Senior Cup will long be celebrated in my house

Good point, we can count this seasons President's Cup so we're still on course for the quadruple!

Longford V Rovers set for Tuesday 25th of August at CCS with a 7-45 KO. That may change though as our FAI cup replay with Cockhill Celtic will be played at the same venue on that date if needed. Hilariously poor planning

Sure just give them a walkover, you're not going to try anyway ;)

Seriously though, I've a good feeling about this one!

Dundalk's last game in this seasons LSC was a 3-0 win away to Wexford in Mid March. I'm not even sure what stage that was, possibly the QF.

That has to be one of the longest periods between last and next stage in a cup in LOI? As it will be at least 6 mths when the next round is played.

Pats last game was on the 9th February. So it's exactly 7 months between rounds for them.

These 2 games are the last QFs.

Bohs and Dundalk are in the SFs already

How does this schedule compare with the Munster or Connaught version. Are they completed yet.

Also would this competition not be better served as a poor season tourney

It still baffles that the top tier of football in this country plays a different season to intermediate, Junior, and provincial leagues. Its a disadvantage for non-league sides for starters and over complicates transfer. No doubt people will talk about summer holidays etc as the reasons why. I played schoolboys football for a good chunk of the summer last century and while not what it was in the past Dundalk Summer League is full of players that play ball anyway until their 'home' club's season returns. Seem to me that it is some sort of passive aggressive LoI bashing or flexing their collective vote. Should weight senior clubs with more than one vote to balance out the sheer numbers of non-league members.

To be fair, the winter season is how it's been done for 100+ years and, most importantly, it's how they do it on the mothership in England.

theres no version of LSC in Connacht I am afraid! There was a competition called it all right but that was in the 30s in which we won! maybe the Galway lads/Sligo Rovers can elaborate further on this.

The teamsheet made it on to Twitter yesterday. Rovers had a half decent team of out-of-favour players and kids. Hyland, G Brennan, D O'Connor, Kavanagh, McCaffrey, Waters started. This competition is officially only interesting in terms of how long it can be dragged out. Could well be 200 day between games for Dundalk.

Crumlin the latest team to get a chance to smash a few goals past Pats tonight. Going to be cautious and go for a 6-0 Crumlin win.

Made the Irish Examiner at least (http://www.irishexaminer.com/breakingnews/sport/tweets-have-we-a-match-epic-banter-from-league-of-ireland-player-695002.html).

Longford player didn't realise the match was on.

He was injured anyway - and was probably taking the **** from the start, and certainly was later on.

100% taking the **** from the start. He's out for the season so he's amusing himself on Twitter. He's great craic on there to be fair I had no idea he was that funny. He's properly gone viral, Newstalk, the Indo, the Examiner and loads of UK pages and blogs were mentioning it. More coverage than he's got in 10 years as a player as he says himself.

Richmond Park, same as the FAI Cup game. The split gate at Richmond is presumably worth more to Crumlin than having it elsewhere.

This LSC game was a Pats home game. The League Cup game earlier in the season was a Crumlin home game (that was switched to Richmond)
