What makes the Oji balls up even worse is he is going to the only team that looked like they could be anywhere near as bad as us.

Oji is staying in Ireland? Bad for Limerick but he's one of the better centre halves in the league and we aren't exactly blessed with them.

Ya expected to be signing for Galway. I can't believe a few of the top teams haven't jumped on it.

I heard that too but are they even allowed to have soccer in there?

That can't be right. The GAA wouldn't possibly OK it.
Edit: Are they waiting on the outcome of the meeting mentioned here: http://www.independent.ie/sport/gaelic-games/gaa-urged-to-open-up-all-county-grounds-to-rival-sports-30909159.html

Playing in the Gaelic Grounds would be a disaster.

Is there anywhere that wouldn't be now?
Oh and Oji confirmed by Galway.

Gaelic Grounds would be worse than Thomond Park.

Gaelic Grounds would be worse than Thomond Park.
It would but Thomond not a possibility apparently so Gaelic Grounds or Terryland both disasters.
Would playing Bohs and Pats rule out playing in Jackman with a temporary derogation from FAI?

Thomond Park is going to be empty till May at lest and possibly empty till next September. Cost is the only reason I can think of not going to Thomond Park and the Gaelic Grounds I wouldn't imagine is that cheap. Certainly not to a soccer team anyway.

Cost is the reason I was told there is no hope of Thomond.

If the fai would allow the temporary use of jackman park how bad would it be for a while.it would be better than playing out of town anyway.

23/02/2015, 6:02 PM
I'd be happy to go back to Jackman if it would be allowed. The pitch is bobbly, the stand is tiny, and if it rains there's always the chance you'll land flat on your back getting to the hill opposite the entrance, but at least you'd be in Limerick. But I dunno, I'd say the FAI wouldn't bend on it.
Jofspring
23/02/2015, 6:03 PM
I'd snap their hands off for Jackman park as a temp option.
delboyderis
23/02/2015, 6:36 PM
If they did get the go ahead for the temp use of jackman park?why not put up a temp stand.it would be the best option if the fai sanction it.dont know if the club have even looked at the option of using jackman park.surely the fai wouldnt object to its use temporarily?
Jofspring

Its hard to know. The fact it only has one entrance/exit is the real issue.
NeverFeltBetter
23/02/2015, 7:53 PM
Could the club even afford a temp stand right now?
I've heard rumors and inklings of plans to make a second entrance before, through one of those abandoned houses behind the car park ground, but it never went beyond that, too much of a quagmire with the council to even contemplate it I suppose, those are all regen scheme buildings.
If that's the big issue, it could be worked around. Limerick have no trouble-likely rivalries going, not really, and assurances about security or Garda being present before kick off and at FT could be made. But it all depends on the FAI I suppose. They're more than entitled to say no, and leave the club looking to Galway or wherever.

Apparently he and his family relocated here and his partner works for an airline. So it's possible that moving from the Shannon vicinity isn't convenient from him?

The amount of money wasted by POS is unbelievable bruff training centre been one ridiculous there wont be a Limerick soon enough. thomond park worse again pat is a great business man but is absolutely clueless on the running of a football club throwing money away.
I don't understand the objections to the purchase and proposed development in Bruff. In my opinion, the only thing wrong with it is that it's not in the city/suburbs. But then, there were probably no suitable sites available at an affordable price in or closer to the city.
If the development goes ahead it will save the club a substantial amount of money that has to be spent every year on hiring training facilities. It might even allow the first team the opportunity to go full time, if that was deemed worthwhile.
While it may sometimes be necessary to pay full time wages to attract the best players, unless you have full time access to training facilities you will never get the return that investment should yield because the team will never actually be working on their game/fitness in a normal full time setup.

Good few trialists at training today obviously Price and Faherty were there too. Two other CBs there and both looked quite good so if we could get one of those to partner Price it would be great.

Gaffney might need foot surgery, which would mean he won't play this season. Bad to hear, had hoped he'd make an impression.

Hughes was head and shoulders above Duggan (or Tracy) last season. He never went missing, never stopped running and made himself useful in both boxes.
