Ya I understand living within the means but where do we go as in who is running the club? Money won't just come from gate receipts, so where and how else will funds come in? Do the fans have to get more involved? For example a trust. Are the club going to look for more investors? How is sponsorship this season going. How much is the rent on the Markets Field? What income is needed week to week to keep the first team going?

There isn't a single club in the league being run off gate receipts.

These are the kind of things we actually need to be told not a list of things Pat has done for the club. Thought it was a very flimsy statement tbh gave no detail at all of what the current situation is and like you have pointed out where it needs to go from here.

I leave the country for a few days, come back and turn the internet on, and see that the sky is falling.

Man, it's going to be a rough season ahead. Everything about the current situation with the club is depressing, and I can't see any way out. Limerick looking like a FD-level team more and more, scrapping 500 people into a completed MF.

Pat talking about the same things we kind of know.

He has mentioned some kind of a trust and a group of corporate people possibly getting involved. Now that's the first I've heard of that and it is kind of what everyone wanted to know about. Still all very vague.

They need to park this thing about people wanting a top class team. I think that has been nipped in the bud and no one I have talked to is expecting it.

The genuine fans just want to know the facts about what they need to do from here on or who is running the show from here on.

They can't they have to keep playing down expectations. Although he then goes on to say we need 2 centre halves and a striker and you know if we don't get them a certain element of our support will be screaming that the sky is falling down again

I wouldn't be puttin a huge amount of trust in the trust.

As for people wanting a top class team, that squad is a half dozen decent players off being anything other than absolute relegation fodder.

Will I still watch them? Course I will I'm a saddo.

Will the good people of Limerick support them? Of course not. Nor should they be expected to.

Jason Hughes supposed to be training with Galway, he's not the best we ever had but a fella like him would add a bit to the squad are Limerick hoping the likes of Hughes don't get any offers from anyone else and play for their hometown club for peanuts or even less, I wonder was he even given the opportunity to play for peanuts!

Up until last week he was still talking to Limerick and had been made more than one offer anyway.

Mustn't have been a great offer, I don't think Jason would be the kind of fella to go to Galway unless it was his only other option, I think he enjoyed playing for his home town club, doubt Galway are offering him mad money to make it worth his while

Word on facebook and twitter is that Sam Oji is staying.

Would be a massive re-signing. Hopefully quickly followed by one or two more to finish off the squad and at least have us some way competitive.

Massive boost for everyone today with the news of Oji's imminent resigning...Maybe we might not be in as bad a shape afterall.
Worst case scenario that we make no more signings i think the following team would be competitive v Bohemians on the opening night.

Connor O Donnell
Colm Murphy Sami Oji Tony Whitehead Robbie Williams
Sean Russell Shane Duggan Paul O Connor Ian Turner
Dean Clarke Darragh Rainsford

Hopefully the couple of loan signings Russel alluded to today will include a target man to play up top beside Clarke.
Shane Tracy would be a massive addition. Anyone know anything about his current situation.
The complete lack of strenght and depth is a major worry. Prince and Jason Hughes would bolster things a bit.
I think the two boys in the centre of midfield should give us a good platform too.

He'll play 3 at the back

Very hard to say really until we have enough players that he can tray something different in friendlies. I don't think just cos he played it in one Munster Senior Cup game when we only had 3 defenders really available that its what he will go with for the season. I hope its not what he goes with cos we dont have the players for it.

What the hell was he supposed to do?Limerick didnt make him an offer or even contact him for that matter so he got on board with the View.He will also be coaching schoolboys there and im sure View are happy with that.

As Mike Ahern said on limerick 95fm this morning, the squad is very small and if they pick up injuries and suspensions they will struggle to field a team.its going to be a lot of pressure on the under 19's.

Would take Daryl Kavanaugh. With Carrick knocked out of FAI by Moyross he might be interested in coming back. Had predicted that Doherty and Kavanaugh would leave Carrick if they got knocked out and Doherty has already signed for Waterford.

Oji is a bad loss.

Looking at other teams in the PD you'd expect to be lower down the table, I have to expect Limerick are going to get relegated. The squad is just too weak and paper thin. The money situation won't improve, they'll be no mid-season squad makeover, and the effort to get a greater interest in the club from the city through the Market's Field has gone up in smoke. Question is whether the club can survive relegation really. It's crazy how bad things have gotten in the last few months. Part of me is wondering if promotion came too soon for POS' plan. Think on how much cash has been lost renting Thomond while Market's Field project scrapped along. Or maybe MF would never have gotten off the ground without promotion.

I dunno, its desperate situation altogether. I think LOI football in Limerick is just doomed to be at FD level.

Have heard he was offered a deal. Was over training with the team and played a friendly midweek. Club tried to change the offer and he wanted to stick to the original one. That's why we lost him.

This basically. You don't agree a deal one week and try go back on it the week later with someone especially not someone like Oji.

Can't get into it now either but some of the stuff going on in the background makes a mockery of all the talk coming out of the club about local talent.

The amount of money wasted by POS is unbelievable bruff training centre been one ridiculous there wont be a Limerick soon enough. thomond park worse again pat is a great business man but is absolutely clueless on the running of a football club throwing money away.

One ya, one a bit bitter cause his mate got the sack and another who is now not playing with anyone. Thing is I've seen it from other ex-players too. Players that were with the club a few years back.

Barry Ryan is the third. The same lads seem to take every chance they can on Twitter to have a go at the club.

Shows a complete lack of class in fairness taking to social media to have a bitch, hoping the club has a hard time etc. at least Oji showed what a class act he is wishing the club well and thanking everyone from the chairman to the kit man and the fans. All that Ryan ever did was whine!
