Good start to this season in 1A. Some nice match reports aswell. Early days of course but some surprise results already.

We played out two very different games at home this week past. We made very hard work of Pike B, missing several very good chances despite scoring 5. They worked us hard and were never out of the game, even at 4-1 and 5-2 they battled and made us sweat until the very end.

We were far more impressive against Dromore, cruising to a 5-0 scoreline against a spirited away side. They were honest and grafted throughout despite losing one of their better players early to injury. A good bunch of lads, I wish them the best of luck this season.

Went down to Shelbourne Park to watch this, although i had to head away with 20 mins left. Lovely evening for a game. Must say it wasn't a very pretty game to watch but Pike were the better side in the first half and should have scored more. Balla came back into it in the second half without really testing the Pike keeper

A tough, hard fought battle of a game tonight lads, not a hell of a lot of classy football, but two teams having a go from the off. The home side started the stronger and were in front early with a poor goal from our point of view. They chipped a long ball down our left, their winger controlled and fired over a good cross, and the centre forward tucked it away. We didn't let it get to us and began to come back into the game, with plenty of possession, if not many chances. Then just before the break, Mark Mc Donnell watched a high clearance come down out of the sky and he fired a sweet strike from an acute angle toward goal, it slipped under the keeper and we were level.
We were fast out of the blocks second half, and even though we were on top again chances were at a premium. That was until Cian Byrnes popped up with a stunning strike from all of 20 yards. We dug in and made it hard for Moyross after that, and though they threw the kitchen sink at us, we held on for all 3 points. Good battle, and great result for us.

Good win again for pike. Pike took the lead early in the game through a peno town equalised threw a free kick that the keeper should have saved but made a mistake. Pike took the lead with another peno. Pike were then down to ten men with a sending off but scored again to make it 3-1 pike fin with 9 men loosing a player threw injury and all subs were used Shannon pushed hard at the end but pike dug deep and fin with a win

Delighted with the win today. Really didnt think it was gonna be our day, striker off injured after 10 mins, centre-half off injured after 20 mins, then a red card for our midfielder. But we stuck together and defended very well again, scoring the second goal near the end to finish off Fairview and record our first clean sheet of the season

He can't get on with us :) he was carrying an injury coming into the game so we didn't want to risk him with the full 90 but he came through it fine thank god, best of luck for the rest of the season bud
