some good games to start of with lads its vital teams get 3 points to get the season up an running. Id fancy moyross to get at least 7 points cant see balla b getting more than 3 points. Shannon town and Caherconlish should get at least 6 points each.

Ya we beat them 4-3 alright. Slow start from us gave them a 1-0 lead then we brought it back to 1-1 then 2-1 them, then 2-2, 2-3, 2-4, 3-4.

We are also 2B now though :D

Moyross A vs Shannon Hibs A 6.45 Moyross sports field tonight in friendly match.
Finished Moyross 2-3 Hibs. Moyross looked good though, very good at keeping the ball, playing 3 in the middle. I'd say they'll do well in 1A this year.

paul lyons, graham carey and monty gone to abbey

Paul Lyons, Alan Lyons, Brian Lyons, Graham Carey, Thomas Butler, Glen Bussoli have signed with Abbey Rvs, along with Kevin Barry (ex Pike) afaik.

Im almost certain Pa Collins & Jeff Roche have signed with Athlunkard, Derek Hannon, Jordan Boland & Richie Flynn have signed with the Dines, Dale Mc has signed with Carew Park, Mick McDonnell & Brian O'Doherty have signed with Granville.

Paul Lonergan & myself are training with the Dines.

Thats all the info I have on former Star players.

St. Michaels 2-0 Granville

A great session for our squad out in Cooke Park yesterday afternoon. Pitch was magnificent and the home side were strong. Both teams missing a few big players. They kept the ball very well and we had to work hard to get it back. When we were in possession, we played some lovely stuff. We conceded two soft enough goals, and missed several very decent chances. I think 2-2 would have been a fair reflection on the 90 minutes, but for an opening friendly we got a super workout. And a chance to introduce several new faces into our squad. Results not as important as gaining match fitness at this stage of the season. Overall a good days work for us.

Their A team. They may have had one or two B players, but going on how strong they were, I wouldn't say many.

We won more comfortably than the score suggests, playing some nice football. The home side were a decent standard and worked us hard throughout. Ken O' Donoghue with a cracking debut goal for us.

"We" you must of settled in nice and quickly out there, how come you left Shannon Town?
heard they signed a keeper that wont be at all the games due to work commitments... How was pre season? will Lifford be challenging come the end of the season?
Granville are supposed to have a nice side with a few new signings, should be a good test for both sides.

That keeper is probably me...I work days and evenings but can normally get a swap for matches so i don't think is should miss many...if any at all

Pre Season is good. Really enjoying it. As for how we will do...I have no idea..I have never played Clare league so have idea of the standard. But here's hoping!!

Lifford 1-0 Granville
No question about it we are a stronger team than we were 3 months ago. We are by no means the finished article, plenty of hard work to be done yet before we start the season Thursday night.
In terms of the game, it was hot and Lifford were a decent side. We made 9 changes at half time which was always going to make it more of a training session than a real match situation. But everyone got 45mins more football under their belt, and we could have had a few goals but for fine keeping(Lev), and the Russian linesman not giving a clear goal!:) Even if I'm slighty biased..
Nice set up, and good bunch of lads Lifford. One lad in particular looked very skillful, young boy no.11. Not sure of his name, but a bag of tricks.

Friendlies Wanted

its kinda strange that none of the shannon teams can hold onto last years team and then add to it, in fairness in match above alot of young lads were given there chance to impress and the still have to add a few of last years team to the squad and another 1-2 possible ex players returning

I left and Darren Griffin went to Canada and Mark Mckee went to Olympic. I think thats all that is is gone from last years team from Shannon Town...
