There will be a full house at this.
Gotta get onto that bandwagon with a few games left...

What's your capacity now?

Think we have 4,000 seats now but could be wrong. There was 3750 or something like that at the European game. That's probably the official capacity I suppose. Wouldn't get too many more standing behind the goals at the entrance side.

Does any of the Sligo folk know of there being any plans to put a stand on that empty side of the ground?

There is plans alright but don't think they're going to come to fruition anytime soon.
Plans are to put a stand with bar/function room underneath it.

Would be great to see. Knock the old stand then, build a nice big one in it's place. And you never know...Pat Dolan might have his wish of 20,000 seater stadia.
In all seriousness, a 8000-10,000 seat stadium up around Sligo would be fantastic.

You'd need a rather big cash injection to do that surely. It would be costly to maintain unless you were filling it anyway.
It would be great to see though, sincerely.

Unlikely to happen any time soon as funding for such a project is a non runner for the forseeable future. I think if we can get funds to cover the new stand at the Railway End, ahem, sorry the 'Volkswagon Bank End', that is probably the next priority. The other thing is, the seating capacity is now up on 4,000 so we would be doing well to fill that as it is. The proposal suggested for the shed end is a stand for about 1600 - 1700 i think. The ground would look empty with our average gate (in good times) of 2,500 or so.

Would showgrounds be able to hold 2,000 people standing in front of main stand and behind the goal to bring capicity to around 6,000 people?

If we put them on the pitch sideline and in the dug outs, then yes.
Setanta confirmed now, showing the 2nd leg of the Play off in Waterford on Friday night.
