Out of that list Derry v Shels is the stand out if you ask me.
Maybe, but Dundalk V Drogs could be a very good game, hopefully anyway, and thats the most inportant thing imo
Funny enough I'd be more inclined to watch this fixture than most. Bit of needle and colour to it.
Other options
Mons v Pats - don't think they can show a live game there
Rovers v Cork - and risk the wrath of the "why are you always showing rovers" brigade?
Bohs v Sligo - maybe, but assume Sligo going to be on fair bit (3 home games from 6 so far)
Bray v UCD - clearly not an option
Derry v Shels - 2 mid table teams
So it boiled down to Bohs v Sligo or the Derby game. Don't see an issue with that
You're just relieved they're going to spare you any further Bohs related embarrassment in the attendances thread... ;)

Poor decision again, will be a very poor crowd at that and little interest from the general public. Shamrock vs Limerick was the obvious choice.

Ya would have thought our game would be on alright. Surprised any FAI cup game is on to be honest as they haven't been on this early in the rounds in recent years as far as I know.

Two incorrect offside decisions against shams.
Both times Richardson said they were good decisions.

Disagree, one was. So call it even, you're a moron and he is too :-)
Bray - UCD would be a good match (not dissing Dundalk and Dundalk lite), two decent footballing teams, should have a few goals too.

Watched 2/3 of game tonight. Poor crowd for biggest club in Ireland.
Terrible cheating from Dennehy (every week) and K Brennan, no punishment from ref.
Poor ref; dirty play from McCabe, he looks the type
Still Shamrocks are better to watch under Kenny than last year.

Televised game against bray another blow to the gate..
In 9 weeks Sligo will only have 2 home league games and 2 cup games.
Probably 7,500 through the gates with the 2 cup games being a split gate. Harsh stuff..

Just once, I'd like to see the 'traditional' lineup of RTÉ panellists cover a LOI game. Imagine the talk between Bill, John, Eamon and Liam at half time during a Shamrock Rovers v Bohs match.

Giles was co-commentator when Pats beat Shels in 1998. Walkinstown lad Paul Keegan was on loan to Pats from NE Revolution and Giles called him the American lad a couple of times. Always remember that.
It'll be Sligo's 4th home game on TV. Rover with 2 the only other club to feature more than once

That was in the days when I hardly knew the League of Ireland existed, I did watch the games on television though and I had a soft spot for Pat's back then, I must have been influenced by that commentary because I definitely recall thinking he was American too.

Its a pity Rte are not showing Pats v Sligo next Sunday as its has potential to be one of the games of the season
I presume Rte wont show another Live game until Olympics are over, as Rte will have Olympic coverage till half 10 every night, MNS will be on later and might only be a 30 mins program.

That will never happen. Bill Herlihys 'O'Herlihy Communications (http://www.ohcpr.ie/)' company are entrusted will the coverage of foreign / English / Scottish / European / World football for RTE, and RTE look after the domestic coverage. O'Herlihy Communications just aint interested in the National game, just the foreign/international side of things.

What's the story with Setanta and domestic games now? As far as I know, RTE have first refusal on games but after that they're up for grabs?

Can we put to bed this nonsense that RTE is pro-Shamrock Rovers now? That schedule clearly shows RTE and Setanta are only interested in the title race, which I suppose isn't much better.

Would you ever kop on - it was obvious that at the beginning of the TV schedule the number of Shamrock Rovers game was totally disproportionate.
However, now that the league title leaders are on the home straight and these games are being shown this is in your judgement a negative development.
Bizarre.

Disproportionate to what? There are teams in this league looking to change the structure of the league so they have a home game against Rovers. They're easily the best known team in Ireland, and as champions were ALWAYS going to be on TV more.
6 months on and the whining is still pathetic from Sligo fans.*

Disproportionate to what? Rovers are the team most people are familiar with and therefore more likely to watch on TV - the stations choose the highest-profile games with the best chance of good ratings. Now that Rovers are out of the title race, they are choosing the important games, i.e. the highest-profile games with the best chance of getting good ratings.
I didn't say it's a negative thing they're not showing Rovers games. I'm saying it's a negative thing they only show the most high-profile game instead of rotating it.

I'd love to count how many times each team have been on TV this year. I'd imagine Sligo are heads and shoulders above.
Have to laugh though, 3:45pm kick-off clashing with the English Premiership? What in utter jesus were RTE thinking?

Something along the lines of "Here's a slot which nobody watches anyway, may as well fulfil our LOI commitment there."

So far (ie not including games not played)
In the league
Rovers 9
Sligo 7
Pats/Drogs 4
Bohs/Derry 3
Bray 2
Cork/Dundalk 1
Shels/UCD 0
In all comps (including FAI Cup, Europe and Setanta)
Rovers 11
Sligo 8
Derry 7
Pats 5
Bohs/Drogs 4
Cork/Bray 2
Dundalk/Shels 1
UCD 0
Mons weren't on TV either
