I saw the rumour coming onto rte.ie - on the transfer watch. Personally I'd be surprised if he moved now, far better to wait until January.

ROvers will get a maximum of 5% of the €60k. Or €3,000

Hmmm, the star are reporting a five figure sum ...

Also after Bohs recently sold that young fella to Wolves wasnt it reported in the media that most of the fee would go to Home Farm and Belvo (iirc)?

Reports suggest the transfer fee is in the region of £75,000, with Bohemians set to receive around £40,000.
Smaller Irish clubs Belvedere and Home Farm are also set to get a cut after helping Doherty develop before his recent move to Bohemians.
Bohs boss Pat Fenlon said: "We have spoken to his schoolboy clubs here in Dublin and they are happy with what we are doing.
"This is a great opportunity for Matt, sometimes it's not just about making money - and I know we need the money - but we're not standing in his way. He's a very good young player who has a real chance.

I'm not sure what the deal with Doherty is - the other 35k may be speculative add-ons.

Sligo will be obliged to redistribute 5% (and no more) of the transfer fee received proportionally among Amond's underage clubs.

correct CD.

When a professional moves during the course of a contract, 5% of any compensation, with the exception of Training Compensation, paid to his Former Club shall be deducted from the total amount of this compensation and distributed by the New Club as a solidarity contribution to the club(s) involved in his training and education over the years (calculated pro rata if less than one year) he was registered with the relevant club(s) between the Seasons of his 12th and 23rd birthdays, as follows:
Season of 12th birthday: 5%
Season of 13th birthday: 5%
Season of 14th birthday: 5%
Season of 15th birthday: 5%
Season of 16th birthday: 10%
Season of 17th birthday: 10%
Season of 18h birthday: 10%
Season of 19th birthday: 10%
Season of 20th birthday: 10%
Season of 21st birthday: 10%
Season of 22nd birthday: 10%
Season of 23rd birthday: 10%
Total = 100%

regarding Training Compensation:

1. Domestic Training compensation shall be payable for training and education between the ages of 12 and 23. Training compensation shall be payable up to the age of 23 for training incurred up to the age of 21, unless it is evident that a player has already terminated his training period before the age of 21.

and

Article 5 - Training Compensation costs

1. Training Compensation is calculated at €500 per season of training. This payment will be on a pro rata basis to those clubs involved in the training of the player.

2. Accordingly, the first time a player is registered as a Professional, the Training Compensation payable is calculated by multiplying this sum by the number of seasons spent training from the Season of the player's 12th birthday to the Season of his 21st birthday. If a Former Club has the facilities to offer a contract but does not, no Training Compensation is payable unless the Former Club can justify that it is entitled to such compensation.

regarding Doherty as far as i know he was not a "professional" therefore different rules would apply and i think then that the underage clubs may have been entitled to more though i am not sure on that.

Is he the young fella who had a mare against TNS?

SkStu
31/08/2010, 5:36 PM
no, he only played against Wolves in a friendly. Thats where Mick noticed him. Dont think he has played a competitive game for Bohs.

BTW, there were 11 players who had a mare against TNS. Granted though, they werent all young.

Was told by official today that Shams are entitled to about 5% of the fee, Sligo Rovers to about 95% of it.

Any idea how much Amond will be on over there? And is it much of a pay rise from what he was getting at Sligo?

Some interesting players on the 31 page list. Surely some LOI managers could get a bargain here?

http://www.givemefootball.com/pfa-transfer-list

The likes of Liam Rosenior, Jeremie Aliadiere, Lee Hendrie, Francis Jeffers, Keith Gillespie, Russell Hoult, Gavin Mahon, Jay DeMerit, Barry Hayles, A Akinbiyi - all experienced performers at a variety of levels.

Gillespie was training with Rovers for a while. Think he played against one of the English reserve teams.

Some good players but they won't move to Ireland for €300 a week

Apparantly Rovers have signed former Everton and Yeovil player Aidan Downes till the end of the season. Ex Ireland U21 also.
