Rumour is he's off in July.... Hasn't been playing well at all so it wouldn't surprise me... talk was that he was going back to Scotland though

Floriana were hoping to get him back but the new president "doesn't rate" him, after all not seeing him train or play it's hard to give an honest rating ;-) My two cents, he's good enough to get to a much higher league than Ireland - he'd be ideal for most continental leagues, though how is his hamstring?

The few times I have seen Martin McGowan he played on the wing or right side of midfield, but I don't know what his "natural position" is - just that he has been brutal on every (limited) first team showing.

I can't see Galway paying a fee for anyone to join them. But if they have the funds available to pay wages, and a club wants to off-load someone from their wage bill then of course its possible.

Good signing was a great player a few years ago very strong and will do well in the league

For some reason he seems to have elevated his status in the leauge to one of the highest paid players .Not sure how that happened tbh . His time in Dundalk and pats wasnt exactly a great success , except his goals in europe for pats . Lots of people still hate his guts in Utd pk though !

Normally there's some sort of minor pay off - like €5-10,000 for the release, kind of to cover the cost of wages already paid, this comes from the new club. He only went to Galway after Cork collapsed and after he wasn't offered terms in Malta, so in fairness he wasn't given much in the way of long term stability. Cracking player and good luck to him. He'll be missed in the LOI. (until January if some smart@rses are right :-) )

he scored a couple of vital goals for us in the league, one against bray and one against you's
