"RE Nutseys revised contract, strangely for once you are right - I am not worried. There is no new contract or any new clause in his existing contract (this would render it a new contract) regarding a get out clause. It will be cheaper to buy out the contract simply due to time lapsing since the Dundee Utd proposal. if Nutsey does go it will be because he (and by extension Bohs) are doing so well that Dundee or some other club are impressed enough to buy out his contract in full.

correct me if i'm wrong, but is it not technically a new contract anyway? defaulting on payment rendered the intial contract breached and thus void. yes, bohs paid fenlon his outstanding money, but i would assume that this would only have been doable if fenlon had agreed. at the same time, would it have been possible to get revisions inserted into the contract for just such a scenario? although i do find it odd that the reported buy out fee is what, about 10k less than what dundee offered?

Just wondering marinobohs, have you actually read his contract yourself?

Fenlon himself stated in a radio interview that there was no contract adjustment following the Dundee United issue.

I wouldn't believe much of what players and managers say is in their contracts in this league...
And even if a contract says one thing, under the table payments and seperate nod and wink clauses are widespread.
Just heard of some dodgy stuff with players at our own club during the week.

So still no word on Bohs budget being sorted out and accepted, seems to have dragged on a while?

(btw that was a genuine post, please don't bother trying to turn it around on me or ignore the question with something along the lines of 'why don't the sources at Smellrock Losers know yet lololol')

okay... let me get this straight then (and i know youre not having a go but neither am i, im just highlighting the situation Bohs fans are in in this thread...)

1) we've been told we cant trust our Board to provide us with the truth.
2) told that we cant trust what the members are saying, cos they heard it from the club.
3) also told that we now cant trust what Nutsy says in a radio intervew and
4) sure throw the players in there while we're at it, we cant trust them either...

By my deductions this now leaves Bohs fans with only one viable option - trust the opposition fans that post on foot.ie..... haha, i love it!

BTW Jicked, havent heard anything about the budget but ill go with the "no news is good news" approach until i hear otherwise.........

Bohs budget will be approved and every player we have signed will be regsitered. Also our 2009 accounts will come under the 65% as well. Then everyone can speculate on our 2011 budget and SCP.

Not saying I agree with our budget etc, just that there are no issues.

No issue? Then why was the embargo placed, and still in force (I presume)? And why was the last budget rejected and still not sorted weeks later if there's no issue - surely there's got to be something amiss with it?

To me the FAI are trying to make a point. However the ultimate proof will be that the embargo will be lifted, Bohs will sign all those players that we have already signed etc. I would expect within 7 days for the matter to be concluded.

Well we know it wasnt bohs, as we know bohs did submit a budet and it was rejected and they are negotiating with the FAI to sort it out,
so why post it on this thread when it is so obvious it wasnt bohs,

This thread relates to Bohs. it was not Bohs to the best of my knowledge, if you know differently then say so (preferably with some source).
If it refers to any other club then you are on the wrong thread.

As pointed out 2 days ago, licences approved, sanctions lifted, all players signed. There was no issue with our budget for FY0, we are well under the 65%, the hold up related to another issue. Roll on the new season.

I'm just surprised the shamrock fans haven't started a new thread already. As Shamrock fans I'm sure they knew Boh's budget was approved days ago before any Bohs fan found out. Should we expect another letter of complaint to the media & FAI that it's all a fudge/conspiracy/cop out by the FAI & Bohs are cheats.

It's all the wannabe accountants on this site I feel sorry for. Can't post any ridiculous/fantasy rumors about bohs points deductions/salary breaches/prize money included in budget now

Have other clubs issued press releases? The team are off to Spain but Im sure the signings will be unveiled at some point after they get back.

Bohs are unveiling a new home jersey at the end of february and may tie in a press conference unveiling the new signings. An announcement nearer the start of the season may also boost interest in the opening game(s).

Maybe its gone quiet because their is nothing to discuss. Call me old fashioned, but you simply saying on here that you finally got your budget through in the absence of any announcement from the club or FAI will rightfully be taken with a large pinch of salt.

But the transfer embargo is nothing to do with the 2010 budget, is it.

Fenlon bolsters Bohs ranks after FAI cash go-ahead

BOHEMIANS have officially completed the signing of seven new players after their budget for the 2010 season was finally approved by the FAI.

The Gypsies had to produce extra paperwork after FAI authorities requested clarification with respect to some of the figures involved.

After receiving that documentation, the FAI have given the green light to the league champions. Manager Pat Fenlon has made considerable changes to the squad in the off season as the Gypsies target a third successive title.

That meant Bohs could register their new players in addition to ratifying new deals with existing members of the squad. Fenlon has added goalkeepers Barry Murphy and Chris O'Connor from Shamrock Rovers and Bray respectively, in addition to Derry trio Stephen Gray, Ruaidhri Higgins and Gareth McGlynn, St Pat's striker Mark Quigley and Sligo front man Raffaele Cretaro. The new arrivals have been training with Bohs since January 15, and they head off on a pre-season trip to Spain next week.

Fenlon has also been in discussions with ex-Galway winger Aaron Greene and remains in contact with the out-of-contract Joseph Ndo, who is considering options in Belgium. However, the Gypsies have no room in their budget for further additions, but are conscious that Greene -- a target for Peterborough amongst other UK clubs -- could have a sell-on value.

Not having been involved in this thread, can i ask the Bohs supporters a question. Now you may have been asked it before but it came up in a discussion i had with some people at the weekend. Did some of the Bohs players get paid wages for working in the bar, and for doing ground work?

SkStu
08/02/2010, 6:12 PM
Hint: the answer is a resounding YES!

They've approved our budget for 2010. Theyve registered our new signings. You are claiming, bizarrely, that the two are mutually exclusive because why? Because the club hasnt released a press release, a press release that you (no doubt) would not give any credibility to (if one had been issued). You cant have it both ways.

My reading is that the article is simply incorrect and the embargo is still in place.

Its actually quite remarkable that you base your opinion on just thinking that the article is incorrect.

Anyway, i would have thought the behaviour of your fans over the weekend would be of more immediate concern to you and your ilk rather than semantics over who has or hasnt released a press release.

he is just being stupid now lord help me :) if they passed 2010 it makes sence to think that means that the fai lifted the embargo as they are now in accordance with the ruling?? take off your hoop tinted glasses for a minute please man its getting really petty and annoying

Hold up. There is nothing official in that article to indicate anything either way. The transfer embargo has NOTHING to do with the 2010 budget process. It has to do with the 2009 licencing process, one Bohs breached and were punished accordingly. The transfer embargo is curiously not mentioned once in the article.

Bohs did not breach the 2009 process. If so we would not have been awarded the league and paid the prize money. Get your facts straight. The FAI were concerned during the year that we would breach the SCP based on figures, but we got through the year ok. As regards 2009 we are under the SCP end of.

For 2010 the budget is approved, there is no embargo. How do I know this? Simple the FAI have now registered our players. If there was an embargo, they would not have done this.

So in short, 2009 no SCP issues, leagues prize money etc paid. 2010 no budget issues, well under the SCP and players registered. See you in Tallaght soon

Well done to the Bohs board for getting things sorted out.

It wasn't that long ago that when they were unluckily knocked out of Europe that it seemed they were doomed with news comingly shortly before that game that they had to win that game to get another four games in Europe, win the league and win the F.A.I. cup and would still be over €500,000 above the 65% SCP.

Considering they only won the league they have seriously done brilliantly to sort out what must have been a €1 million plus drop in the potential income they would therefore have lifted.

Cheers Candystripe. I would think that the extent of the fundraising effort was only possible due to the new found confidence that members and fans have in a more pragmatic approach to expenditure by the new Board elected this year. It also helped that Rovers were hot on our heels and a breach of the 65% would have handed the title to them.

Anyhow, good luck in the new Season and hopefully it wont be long before your back in the top flight
