Wolves' back four look terrible....

At the moment it looks like their only chance is results else where going their way.

However, when they concede another goal, which looks a certainty at the moment, they need
2 results to go their way (not even sure if that is enough actually!)

Get Henry and either one of the center backs off and bring on Stearman and Milijas. Ward has played OK but Samba has Fletcher in his pocket. Mick has to take a lot of the blame for one playing Henry and two having him as captain. A poor mans Joey Barton .

relying on United to win, keeping it at 3 and hoping that Wigan dont score.

Wolves were about 9-1 to go down, now they are marginally odd-on.

All Wolves really need is a Spurs goal against Birmingham and they'll be safe no matter what the score in their match

What a miss from Hunt.

This musical chairs craic at the bottom is mighty entertainment for the neutral. Birmingham in the dead zone now.

If Wolves concede another they are back in the shyte though.

edit - and they just nearly did.

awful defending from Foley there. Great save frm Hennessy. That might just be the break they need to stay up. Blackpool 2-1 up. Incredible.

There was talk on here of Wolves going down to a last minute goal with odds of 50-1
Wish i had £1,000 on it.

What a wonderfull free kick and great goal. We should try that against Macedonia.

Goal back for Wolves, I think that moves them up a place on goal difference.

Noelys Guitar

Wolves to win 4-3 and Blackburn to go down!

Blackpool losing now, that moves Wolves up another place.

It didn't put them ahead, but Blackpool conceding a goal has lifted them up on points. Evatt has had a shocker for Blackpool.

heartbreaking for McCarthy and Wolves. Talk about a rollercoaster. Come on Spurs!

Noelys Guitar

It might take a peno for Wolves to get another goal as Fletcher is invisible.

We've done very well relegation-wise. The only casualty I can think of is Fahey. Can't believe Wigan survived, fair play to them.

Delighted for Mick!

Mick looks completely drained. Get Long, Dunne and Shay Given in Mick and its top ten next season.

Delighted for big mick and the rest of the Irish contingent at wolves. With any luck Wigan staying up will help them hang on to McCarthy for another season, and give Sammon more game time up front.

I think as it turns out from an irish perspective the 'best' teams got relegated. Granted i would have preferred blackburn but they were the least likely. As it is, only Coling Doyle and Fahey are going down. Doyle may become no.1 because there is no way Foster will stay with B.ham. And considering Fahey never really held down a starting berth all season, it might be good for him to get a full starting run in the c.ship.

Uber goal from Hunt, got complained for shouting my head off in the hotel (it's 1am in China!!). Congrats to all the Wolves boys :)

Told you it'd be a last minute goal that kept them up!

Fahey in the Championship isn't a disaster. He may become a more senior player for them, though bar Foster and maybe their CBs I'm not sure they have any players that'll be in demand in the PL.

Delighted for Mick and the Irish contingent, some rollercoaster of a day but what a goal from Hunt, glad they did it off their own bat and didn't need the Spurs winner in the end.

Carr, Reid and Billy Clarke also relegated.

Am now hearing rumours that Blackpool will be in Europe next season via fair play.

rebelmusic
22/05/2011, 5:12 PM
Carr doesnt matter from an international perspective. Reid needs the championship to reboot his career and Clarke is young yet, and unfortunately never got tested in the PL. So still all positive!

Delighted for all the lads at Wolves and for Mick McCarthy. Hunt made up for an injury-hit season with the crucial goal. Hopefully Mick will be given some money to consolidate for next season.

I am not surprised, you don't get many tougher days for a manager, at half time he must have been preparing to face the press after being relegated!!
Then they were safe, and then they were back in it again, then safe again!!

Dennis Irwin coming out onto the pitch at Old Trafford. Getting a great reception.

Great to see Wolves stay up considering the Irish presence at the club.
