Because the title holder spot in the Champions League won't be used (Man Utd and Barcelona have already qualified for the group stage next season), the Champions of the Faroe Islands and Luxembourg will now be put through to the 2nd qualifying round of the CL. This means that Bohemians might yet be seeded if the Champions of Slovenia and Georgia don't have their own club co-efficient points.

Both the Georgian and Slovenian leagues have 1st v 2nd games this weekend that could go a long way to deciding the titles. Maribor v Celije and Dinamo Tbilisi v WIT Tbilisi.
Wins for Maribor and WIT would almost guarantee them the titles. Maribor have a higher coefficient than Bohs, WITs is lower (I think).

The BBC is claiming that Scotland, Norway, and Denmark have got the 3 fair play spots

They usually do. Unlucky for Sligo as all 3 will now be seeded in our region (if it is regionalised)

Does that mean we will be squeezed out of the seeded teams ?

Surely the fair play spots have a lot to do with the strictness of the refereeing in the countries in question. I can't think of a better system, but it seems a little strange that the fair play place could conceivably just go to the country whose refs let more bad tackles go unpunished.

possibly, although at first glance you're OK

its to do with their record in international and european competitions more (including things like fan behavious etc etc)

Fan behaviour, attacking play, respect of the club officials, bookings (maybe 15% of the total) and some other factor.
Load of nonsense unless UCD are winning it.

Just looked again there, and you're definitely safe.

It says on the linked thread that the league earns a place based on the amount of cards in the domestic league and international games, and then that the Scottish league award it to a team based on the factors you listed. That's the way I interpreted it anyway.

If you look at the intermediate leageu tabel uefa produced in january, they list a number of games after each country. These are the international, and european club games involved

Domestic discipline is not a factor in the UEFA rankings, only in the individual countries' rankings

Ties to be played the following Thurs and the week after that (2nd & 9th July).
Not exactly fan friendly.

Not exactly fan friendly.
Not at all.
Hopefully the draw will be regionalised so we wont have to travel to somewhere like kazakhstan with a few days notice.
Does anyone know when will the decision be made regarding regionalisation ?

if bohs get past the first round in champions league and get knocked out in second round i think they go into the Europa. i might be wrong about that so can somebody confirm it?
I seriously wouldn't rule out Bohs this season. I just feel if Fenlon can get the tactics spot on then the rock solid defence could see bohs make the europa group stages. i wonder what the odds of it would be. however i think if they get knocked out in second round of CL they wouldn't be seeded in the europa cup 4th round qualifier.

I thought UEFA had already confirmed that it won't be regionalised?
Bert has it on his site that it won't be anyway:
In the Europa League qualifying rounds the teams will be no longer be divided into regional groups (as used previously in the UEFA Cup).
http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/seedel2009.html
The old regulation said the UEFA administration could form groups based on economic interests of the participating clubs or based on regional criteria.
The new regulation just say that the UEFA administration may form groups. No explicit mentioning of regions. Strictly speaking it's not forbidden, but highly unlikely.

There's nothing been confirmed eeither way. The regulations certainly allow for it to be regionalised
Oh and Bohs must get to third qualifying round in CL to get to Europa League (if they lose)

Bohs enter at the 2nd QR. They need to get through this round to make sure they get into the EL - EL 4th QR if knocked out in the CL 3rd QR, or the EL group stage if knocked out in CL 4th QR.

Thanks Dodge, I thought it had been confirmed. Anyway, I wouldn't read much into them leaving the regulation there. The same regulation is in the CL rules allowing them to regionalise that if they want.

Slovenian champions NK Maribor will be seeded in the QR2 draw so Bohs are definitely going to be unseeded.

He'll play a 4-5-1 formation with Jayo Bryne out on the right.

Which "rock solid" defence is that - the one that shipped 2 goals in 2 mins on Friday night, or the one that let in 3 goals in the same game overall.....?
Dodge

But aren't you the best team ever steve? Surely every team wouldn't have the same firepower as you? Or are you saying that you only scored those goals due to Bohs defence being universally cack?

Can start a separate CL thread for Bohs related trolls.

Alot of work was put in by the club MC to ensure it would pass.
Good news for Sligo. Hope you sell out.

Visas required for Armenia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
Armenian one can be done online, others I'm not sure.
Some potential nightmare trips for Derry and Sligo.
One of the Azeri teams is in/near a disputed region (Zaqatala), as is one of the Armenian teams (Kapan). Irtysh Pavlodar of Kazahkstan are pretty much in China, and were part of the famous GULAG archipelago...
Shudder indeed Dodge.
And then there's Distillery :)
Yeah we'll all be praying for a NI or Welsh team. New rules mean that some of them are in the second qualifying round
From my former life working in the field of Visas, its easier to get a visa for a game like this than for normal travel. It will take the co-operation of the national federations, and none of them ever want to be seen not to be doing everything in their power. It might involve only official trips though

The Faroe is a nightmare to get to, and not a lot there(bar a lot of blacksheep)

Any of them thank you please. To be honest, I'd hate to get NI. First time going on an away trip as I was only a youngen the last time we played in Europe, so if we do get knocked out in the first round I'd rather it be in one of those rather than NI. Some euro away trip that'd be. More than likely come home the same night. No thank you. :o
Malta or Estonia my personal prefered pick out of them.

Aye, 80 euro return on the boat. Poifect. Suppose we'll just have to wait what the draw conjures up. Have a feeling it will work out....
