Ballina v Charlestown match called off because of pitch but find that hard to believe as it was such a good evenin.hear there was a 21st in ballina that might have something to do with it.... its meant to be rescheduled for thursday evening.

I notice on the Snugboro web-site they have the Cross V Snugboro B McDonnell Cup Match scheduled for next Thursday (4th) at 14.30. Firstly is it confirmed for next Thursday? and secondly I'd guess the time should be 18.30?

Speculation on my part. John D seems to have removed me from the fixtures/results email for some reason. Must have some problem with the Snugboro site showing fixtures/results/tables. Maybe if the Mayo league had their own website......

Yeah we're okay this week! We've moved the match to Moyne Villas ground in Headford (same as for Swinford B). It's a lovely pitch, great surface, nice dressing rooms etc. I left a message on Steve Clarkes phone to tell him about the change of venue.

We are renting Glencorrib and Moyne Villa at the moment! We are going to try and arrange something, depends on money really. Did Steve get my message, do you know?

Ballina Utd 5 - 5 Charlestown Athletic

Charlestown 5-1 down after 48 mins, poor defending and game rusty having not played since 9th may. But cant excuse realy poor finishing on our behalf and should have won the game by five more in the end. Missed penalty and lost count of 1 v 1's in the second half and ref was so poor that whoever shouted loudest got the decisions plus no notion off new off side rule. Still, happy with come back and lots to work on in the comming weeks if we are to mount a serious title challenge.

Finished 2-2 after full and extra time. Boro went 2-0 down and had to make a comeback as usual :rolleyes:
Pitch was not nice at all. Very hard and ball bounced everywhere. Scrappy aul game really. Not a nice way for cross to go out but we are well experienced on penos! Good cross side not to be taked advantage of. Killed us in the air. Villa now in the semi. At least its home !!

To be fair, I think you guys played most of the football, you played it very well out from the back. I'm suprised you only have 3 points. To be fair, we have a very solid back 5 and you did well to break us down.

Anyway it was a tough game in excellent conditions and a great result after the midweek debacle against Ballina Utd. Once again we found ourselves behind after a slow start, but we got our act together and got a deserved result.

Swinford took the lead early on but from there on in it was all Moy Villa, Villa could well have scored another 4 goals. Swinford looking like certs for relegation this season!!

Very good game. In fairness both defences played well but we just had the cutting edge in the second half. Thought the ref had a very good game and let the play go whenever he could, but in saying that both teams made it an easy game to referee because there wasnt a bad or dirty tackle in it. Very happy that our 1st choice keeper was back too, I think that a few of the Conn boys were in Ballina on thursday and were looking forward to having a couple in the bag :). Saying that he only had one decent save for the entire game

Ballina have some good players. The striker with the 'interesting' haircut was good and the huge no 2 playing in front of the back 4 showed good footwork.
