anyone got fixtures for coming weekend.
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

All games bar FAI have been postponed due to weather. A decision on FAI games will be made on Saturday

no avenue did not organise anything he is thinking of coming back to us but hasnt signed anything yet! i suggest ye try to sign him maybe the thought of a crisp 50 every week would tempt him! nah i doubt it he would certainly tell ye where to go.... in fairness though he would be a much better signing than wilson and for free too...

for everyone else, truth be told the early signs are the same as last season- we are playing in a bad league with bad teams, none of which can hold any consistent form!

I have to agree. The standard appears to be rubbish. No team(I havent seen them all) seems to be able to put together any sort of winning form.I know the grass always looks greener in the dim past ,but for 10 years Newtown, who had a team that would whack any of the current sides, were second to that great Avenue team of the 80s.
It makes it even more ironic that all that seems to be talked about is the standard of refs. What about the poor standard of player??????????????

too many tippy-tap, weak and windy players playing today. The attitude, work ethic and physical strength of years gone by is sadly lacking in a lot of cases. Lots of "nice" players with lovely boots and wonderful flicks but very little end product. There are not as many good solid players around these days. But that seems to be the case across the whole country..there must be a reason for it??
you are only a loser when you stop trying. Playing sport does not build character, it reveals it.

Thats seems correct. The skills are there ,but no balls guts or brains. Is it possible that the better athletes or some of the better athletes are opting for other sports eg rugby and gaa.How else can you explain no under 11 team from Shannon in the schoolboys??It appears that Ennis is doing a lot of work but they may be competing for players too much against each other and not concentrating on improving the players they have on the pitch??When is the last time we had a Shannon player on the Clare Kennedy cup team??

If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

Let me add, if i was to see a ref in Clare have a good game then i would applaude them but i can't. I'd love to beleave me i would but i can't.
What did you make of the ref in the Bunratty v Newtown game. The grapevine has it that he handled the game o.k.

    MOD EDIT:
Unless its a fact you can't just think out loud here.Accusations like that have to be backed up by evidence (as in where and when).

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no accusation or derogatory comment?.They both helped us out when we needed it.For that I was thankful. The point I was making was they went back to Limerick of their own accord.

It was the reply to your post that was edited and not what you posted.Your post was fine.
I should have made that clearer.

Ref was Dave McCarthy and he was very good as all agreed afterwards. He was very fair and set his stall out early. Game was played in good spirit with little or no serious incidents. The thing with this ref is that you can actually talk to him which makes a massive difference.

Agree that Dave had a good. Imagine if you tried to speak to Paddy Dunne
