    Clare Oscar Traynor 2006/07

Lads anyone know anything about fellas receving phonecalls inviting them to training with the Oscar traynor panel.
Has there been a management team put in place or dare I say it has a club or group of individuals taken it on themselves to get the ball rolling.

I was told that Rob Mc Sherry, former Oscar Traynor Manager and current Bunratty manager is to be involved, not sure if he will hold the managers position but we'll have to wait and see. I'd say it will be the same old faces on the panal again this year.
If you're in the penalty area and don't know what to do with the ball, put it in the net and we'll discuss the options later

As far as I know Eddie Corry has taken the job and Hughie Kelly is doing a bit of player spotting for him.

most appearances for Clare Oscar Traynor

Just wondering who would have the most appearances for Clare.
I'd say Brendy Mackell for newtown has to be up there and Mannix for the Avenue.

That they were....I was told a story about the Oscar Traynor a good few years ago.Frank Healy was the manager, he used to go around with a note pad and pen before the match, he would speak to all the players individually.
He wasn't talking about the game or tactics or anything, He was asking the players what they were drinking after the game.

There is great money in weather glaze, surely you are not suggesting that the steaks were been paid for by the league.
Anyway there is so many of them they would nearly have to bring thier own fatted calf. And anyone that ever played against them would swear they would eat in raw. Saying that they were a decent bunch to have a pint with after a game.

Guys can just say if these stories are true then I say fair play to them at least they got something for all the work they and their dad did for the clare league, people sometimes forget these people,When the Clare team won the oscar traynor a few years a go half the team didn't show up for the meal in the Clare inn where they were being offered a free pint to accompany there meal,I remember seeing at least 8 in the cusack stand drinking away for free,a couple of free ones from cusacks and whoever was there bought them pints,I think they spent about 20 mins in the clare inn before returning to either cusacks or town, as for the old Oscar Traynor they just showed up played there game and went home,no training ,no team meeting no interest
its a long way from Mcdonough park to here

Frank Healy was the driving force behind Doora and had the foresight to choose the site start the developement. He had much grander plans than are there now but his plans were shelved as being too grande and palatial.

Do the Managers of this years team not think that they should
publish the panel in the local papers or what. It would be nice to
see what the squad for this years Oscar Traynor is. Does anyone
have the power of getting the panel?

I think it a bit strange that Greg Deegan, who has been one of the best players in the league over the past 10 years but never got a sniff of a call up for Clare. As soon as he leaves the Bridge he gets a call straight away??

oscar traynor has always been a bit strange on selection of players
managers usually seem to pick same players every year with a few new faces.. find it hard to understand why list of players has not been released to clare people / clare champion.. i would assume clubs have at least been contacted and told who they are looking for
