Brilliant post Wombat, who do they think they are fooling, they were gutted in Cooke park last season when Town won the league and rightly so,Saints are desperate for a league,Breen and Carr and so on have never won a league medal, what possesses people to try and say they don't go for the league,Town have an obsession with the FAI last 10 years and have lost 3 semif finals and a host of quarter finals and been in several Munster finals but still won 7 or 8 leagues

Your more than entitled to your opinion but only a Saint Michaels fan would try and say they haven't won a league in 8 years because it wasn't a priority, not 1 Saints player would back up that argument, there are an awful amount of people who feel that league defeat cost them the FAI,it hit them very hard that night, also remind us who they rested that night???

I took the time to read your posts again and you said "players were rested for league games"....."towns priority is not the league either"...."attitude from saints towards the league is why they have not won it"......so yes funnily enough i don't think you feel the league is important!!!!

But that attitude does not exist at Saints from anyone, they have just come up short in the league full stop.People like James Walsh and Paul Tobin are winners and would never give less that 100% in any game and they are sickened by the poor league record and it is something they try to correct every season and they were simply unlucky against a gallant Town last year, you are paying a terrible disservice to Saint Michaels with your assumptions and to the integrity of some of the best junior players Tipp has ever seen, one thing about those guys is they have never made excuses they took defeats on the chin and celebrated great victories as well,Saints get a bad name due to guys like you expressing opinions on their behalf that are certainly not the views of anyone at the club

Well said stelling,I think most of us would disagree with his comments that league is not their priority, successful clubs make EVERY competition they enter their priority, and that's the way it always should be.

I think rightboy you are the one who has never played the game, The Saints players and genuine club officials (which obviously you are not) would give their right arm to win back a league title It has been a huge priority for the club over the last no of years, You just had to look at the players attitude on the field all season and their utter disappointment and sick feeling when they didn’t win it this year. Every knowledgeable football person knows that success is built on the back of winning league titles. No side will ever be classed as a great side until they are winning their own league. There is only one reason why Saints haven’t won the league in 8 years and its none of the rubbish you speak off. It’s the simple fact that they weren’t good enough over 16 or 14 games.

its great when a topic about saints comes up on this it makes the site come alive just 1 example of the saints players attitude toward the league, when they played peake villa away last season and drew nil all saints wer missin 6 regulars 3 wer at the afters of a wedding the night before so ruled themselves out, ( would that have happened if they were playing peake away in the fai ) ????? i think not. and 'wombat' u said for once show your class as a club in reference to saint michaels you must be forgetting that saint michaels are the most decorated club in the tsdl surely that represents class. what club do you represent by the way???

st michaels and class in one sentence u must be joking ,everytime they are beaten there is controversy, they honestly think they have a divine right to win every match they play, the abuse directed towards alan barry in fai final was an absolute disgrace and they were so graciuos in defeat most of their players did not even wait for the presentation afterwards which im lead to believe is a regular trait with this class club when they are beaten,I hold my hat off to chalkie walsh who was 1 of the few to stay on the pitch top bloke by the way who made a point of congragulating elderly pike men,And another point of note after munster junior game saints were invited back to pike club as a gesture to keep good relations between clubs but as usual saints are too good to mix with any other club,

i think you might misunderstand the meaning of the word class. And the only reason saints went to thurles without those players for the league game is because they were so arrogant that they could win without them that they had no problem giving them the day off. Sure villa had lost to galbally and wilderness so of course the great st michaels only had to turn up with half a team to beat them. Typical but it backfired. And yet when saints did play villa with a full team they needed an injury time goal to steal a win in cooke park so stop fooling yourself

Rightboy it was not the balla boys who gave Alan Barry the abuse,I know that for a fact because they were sitting behind me,there was some abuse from certain individuals from limerick but it was most certainly not ballananty,so I think you owe them an apology, there was abuse from some St micks supporters towards him and it was also there in the mj,yere name be saints but believe me some of yere supporters are no saints.might be a small section but they are there.and you're comment about deccie makes me laugh,ye crucified him last year after ye were beaten again and cited his reaction to the win as yere reason for objection,so you're fooling nobody here.

hoops wil you please stop posting unless you are gonna tell some bit of truth, oh my lord are you that bored that you have to make up such lies like in your above post i mean come on and wake up will you. all the saints players stayed till hartnett made his speech then they left the field. and you are accusing saints supporters of slagging alan we never said anything bout the pike fan that confronted the saints manager when keith scored the winner he ran onto the field to do so, but these things happen and you move on. both sets of fans were having a slagging match where i was sitting it was actually hilarious but we lost so that stopped the laughing for us

half decent post from you ,i see you backed down from the balla statement and your right certain things do happen and we do move on ,im making a point that everytime saints lose there is a farcical reason ,and your right declan considine did show a bit of class but if you were as much in the know as you claim you are you might tell me why a letter went off to the fai about connie from your club ,or did you know that or are you the sunshine supporter

Republican rightboy accused another club from limerick ie balla which is totally untrue,to blame another club is way below the belt, there was plenty of banter between both sets of supporters, but personal abuse of players came from yere supporters, rightboy speaks of class,if he has any of it he will apoligise to ballananty rovers, but I doubt he has

There are over 40 clubs in the TSDL. This forum is about the TSDL. Unfortunately discussion has descended into farce. Could we revert back to TSDL matters discussed in a fair and constructive fashion.
