Not saying they cost us. Was just surprised at the selection of one of the linesmen that evening that's all seeing as he wasn't involved in any Prem games prior to that. This is a few years back anyway, not recent.

If the clubs involved want to fork out the 140 or so euro then there's plenty of linesmen available this time of year.

Must say its a joke that springfield got the points..
    Not blaming springers,but that ruling..

Isn't that the joys of playing football, some pitches good, sum bad,its the challenage you must be up for..
Eg,if we ever play in clasduv road, silverheights,we might change the way we set up..
I think that what makes it enjoyable to play!

Fact. If both teams agree on linesmen, perfectly allowable

I remember Wilton had linos against us in a title decider a few years back also.
It is a good idea IF you can afford it.

Especially if there is going to be a big crowd, the ref needs every bit of help that he can get.
Wouldn't it be a good gesture from the AUL to pay for the extra officials for the big games (out of fines money?)
We played Coachford in a play off decider few years back and there was linesman.
What way does it work tonight if its a draw?
Played both teams recently and its gonna be a cracker but i think ill go with Springfield on this one.

poor show by the aul to give springers the points without kicking a ball, i remember playing on a pitch where my biggest worry was avoiding the cow s*&t, not if the grass was slightly long!! suppose you cant beat clever management!!

If it's a draw carrig win the league by a point. This is a regular league game.

Finished up 2-0 to Springfield. Deserved the win too. Carrigtohill had a lot of ball second half but didn't create much.

went to the carrig springfield game last night, not a regular at aul games but been to a few this season, have to say i was surprised with the level of fitness shown for that division.. neither team stopped for the entire 90 minutes, and good game as well. springfield well worth the win, organized and very potent from set pieces (ala rockmount)! for all carrig's possesion in the second half they didn't seem to have any ideas in the last third, but in fairness they kept going till the end! from what i've seen of mjl this year both teams would easily stay up/compete at that level!!

    SPRINGFIELD AUL1 CHAMPIONS 2010-2011!!!, ...fact!

After reading all the tripe that has been posted here regarding Springers!, about ''long grass, up to old tricks again, experienced managers'', we became Champions last nite - well deserved - unbeaten in League all year!.

Just remember peeps we showed up to both games, were either togging out or warming up when REFEREE decided to call off game, nothing to do with US. As the saying goes . . . 'referee's decision is final, nothing anyone can do to influence or change it'

Finally, big celebrations in Cobh last night and more to continue this Saturday night - Carrigtwohill your more than welcome to come and observe - seen as ye've spent the last few weekends in Cobh keeping an eye on us!. Ye surely know the way by now!!!

Congratulations to Springfield, worthy Champions, were the better team on the night. Offside Rule thanks for the 'invite' to your celebrations but I think I have had enough of Springfield for this season, best of luck next season!

As was said last nite, ''its a pity only 1team goes up!'' . . . Maybe something the AUL should look more closely at.
Best of luck to Carrig aswell next Season - im sure it wont be long before our paths cross again.

Congrats to Sprinfield on the league win last night. No complaints on the result, well deserved. Gutted for our lads as i felt they didnt do themselves justice. Goodluck next year to Springers and like Radio i too will decline the generous invitation to Cobh.
Great support for both sides last night and it was great to see.

well done to all teams in the aul this year and all involved with every club.On the springfield thing I must say its a disgrace what the aul did . Congrats to springers on winning the league but thats 2 very controversial endings to the league in 2 years but well done anyway.

I dont know the full story behind either of those "very controversial endings" and it may not be totally fair whatever rulings the AUL did give but having played in league 1 all season and watched the game last night, I dont think there's any doubt Springfield were the best team in the division and from what I saw played better football than anyone else too. They deserve to go up and whatever the AUL decides to do in both circumstances isnt their players fault.

It's a shame the way Springfield conduct themselves on and off the field, good football players but that's where it ends im afraid.

King-corner, do you honestly know anyone of the Springers players personally - to say the way they conduct themselves on and off the field is way out of order. Off the field, how has there conduct been bad?. On the field, they play to win - and the leagues success proves this.
I think you should retract your statement there lad!.

As Learpholl said ''whatever the AUL decides to do in both circumstances isnt their players fault''.
Its not our issue to ensure other teams pitches are upto playing quality.

Glad to hear you think we are good footballers - at the end of the day we are a football team playing in a football league!.
Football players who give their all in every match, training session etc, - to be slated on here is way out of order!.
