I'm sure Jamie Carragher won't let that go unchallenged.

He would make a great striker then

I have not see it yet but it sounds like it was a bit of a mix up.

Often defender score own goals because they are trying hard to cut out a shot which is a good thing, probably not the case this time, will have a look at it on MOTD, sounds a bit of an unfortunate blunder "Dunne was on hand to clear the danger, but instead of knocking it clear side-footed the ball into the bottom corner at the near post to give Sunderland the lead."

He had a great effort on goal in Armenia. He had Shay beaten all ends up.

At least St.Ledger has the knack of getting into good positions in the opposition box and striking a few goals.

Regarding Dunne's o.g. - i thought that the other defender that was running across him looking like he was going to head it clear totally messed Dunne's head up and affected how committed he was to hitting the ball. It was bizarre run for the other defender to make in fairness.
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

I had to laugh at that one. Hard to blame Carragher for yesterdays's OG though.

Paul McGrath used to score the odd o.g. (more in his utd days if I recall correctly)

He was a half decent centrehalf for us

Dropped to bench 2day. Has been shocking recently so its not really a surprise. Clark is suspended and Ireland has been dropped out of the match day squad altogether

In related news, I've dropped him from my Fantasy League team for this weekend. Not been good enough and I probably gave him a few weeks too many to be honest.

Ill keep you posted if I put him back in.
I thought you were off the drink Ronnie?

I still have him in mine. Might drop him, like I did with Duffer. Sad times.

I swapped John O'Shea out for Robert Huth this week. He just doesn't seem to play anymore, tough to get points when you're not playing.

Thats a good call. Wolves desperately need a good centre back or two.

Dunny is one of those players that seems to do better for managers that he "clicks" with.

Mind you, Mick did not give Dunny too many caps but that was a while ago. Still I believe they could be a good combination for Wolves. Why not get Sean St Ledger as his partner.

Can't imagine Houllier will be in there much longer. Maybe bought himself some time yesterday, but it really isn't working out. Hopefully the next manager will get the best out of him.

    Mick left seven years ago!

Whatever people say about MON's football, he always got the best out of his CBs.

Houllier would have woken up on Sunday to see reports claiming a training-ground bust-up involving defender Richard Dunne, himself and assistant manager Gary McAllister.
Dunne, who was axed for Saturday's win over the Baggies, is reported to have criticised both training and tactics at the club.
Houllier has yet to respond to these claims but he was full of praise for the character and togetherness of his players in ending a four game losing streak.

Bobo Balde, an extremely limited footballer is testament to that.

Balde, Mjallby, Laursen, Valgaeren all played right to their limits under O'Neill, even the likes of Gerry Taggart played out of his skin for Martin.
