Sounds like our lads in Europe had a decent weekend, even if none of them scored.

Garvan's and Treacy's goals from the weekend online here: http://www.skysports.com/video/inlin...467337,00.html
Both absolute belters. Garvan's is really impressive, controls the ball with his left and volleys it home with his right
Paddy McCarthy got the assist on Palace's second

There's a 17 year old prospect (Ravel Morrison) at Man Utd who has just been given squad number 49 for tonight's Carling Cup match against Wolves. Anyway, his mother's name is Sharon Ryan which indicates that he must have Irish there.

    A1, Sharon, A1.

I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

Conrad Logan got another chance at Leicester tonight, and made a game changing howler by all accounts after his side had goten back on terms at 1-1

taking heavy criticism from several here http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/in...pic=68897&st=0

he has had a few opportunities now, I thought his time as a Leicester player was over a couple of seasons back when the club used 6 or 7 different keepers but never bothered to recall him from the loan he was on, but with the place awash with cash now, and Sven fond of the big name signings and a contract running out, it may soon be time to try to get established elsewhere, most likely the lower leagues.

With Sven's history, I'd expect them to be linked with Kasper Schmeichel in the near future

    Sean Rooney

Apologies if this has been done already.

21, striker, 4 in 7 this season, Newcastle Jets, A-League, same side as Michael Bridges + Francis Jeffers (who also quailfied to play for us, I believe) involved in the Austraila U20 set up.

    here:http://www.limerickleader.ie/sport/S...the.5703594.jp
    and:http://www.newcastlejets.com.au/defa...ue_playerstats
    also:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Rooney_(footballer)

I wonder how the Aussies would react to it...

Irish Abroad statistics for October 2010: http://irish-abroad.appspot.com/MonthlyStats?month=10
Liam Lawrence won the most games in October, the Portsmouth loanee ended on the winning side 4 times, and also topped the scoring charts with Jonathan Hayes. Both players found the back of the net three times. Portsmouth also failed to lose each of these games, winning twice and drawing once
Paddy Kenny drew the most games, with his games finishing all square on four occasions
Crystal Palace teammates Paddy McCarthy and Owen Garvan reflected the form of their sides by starting 4 losses, Jonathan Walters and Connor Sammon also finished on the losing side 4 times
5 seems to be the magic number for starting players, with Darren Randolph, David Forde, Paddy Kenny, Kieran Westwood, Stephen Carr, Alan Maybury, Paul McShane, Paddy McCarthy, Sean St Ledger, Ian Harte, Kevin Foley, Cliff Byrne, Richard Keogh, Eddie Nolan, Sean Dillon, Mark Yeates, Owen Garvan, Stephen Quinn, Lee Carsley, Liam Lawrence, Jon Daly, Jonathan Walters and Shane Long all lining out for their side 5 times
Of these, Paddy Kenny, David Forde, Kieran Westwood, Darren Randolph, Stephen Carr, Alan Maybury, Paddy McCarthy, Kevin Foley, Cliff Byrne, Richard Keogh, Sean St Ledger, Eddie Nolan, Sean Dillon, Lee Carsley and Liam Lawrence all completed 90 minutes in every game. None of the strikers that started 5 games finished all 5
Jim Goodwin, Seamus Coleman, Keith Fahey, Stephen Ireland, Wes Hoolahan, Liam Kelly, Alan Lee, Jon Daly, Jonathan Walters, Shane Long were all substituted 3 times in October.
Ronan Murray was introduced from the bench more times than any other player, the Ipswich midfielder was introduced to the fray 4 times
Shay Given and Conrad Logan again topped the most unused substitute table, both players remaining on the bench in 5 games
Alan Dunne, Alan Maybury, Darron Gibson, Marc Wilson, Noel Hunt and Anthony Stokes were the most booked players, each player shown the yellow card twice
All goals, yellow and red cards tweeted in real time on mastodon, BlueSky and facebook

Thought this would be the best place to put this:

James Collins Junior scored twice already for Burton. Maybe he'll be a future Ireland striker alongside Brady or Roberts?

Bad news for Gary Deegan. I found this when I was looking for an update on Stephen O'Halloran. Does anyone know if he is playing reserves or is he still injured? I am also trying to find out similar info on Joey O'Brien. Does anyone know?
