normal service will be resumed i reckon, judging on john delaney cup results and new signings.
John Delaney cup is only a pre season tournament, will still be Villa and Town fighting it out,Villa always look poor in pre season, but Ron you were way off the mark about the 2 "excellent youth" players, both players will play their football in the 4th division and wouldnt expect either to be regulars in that league either,it will be the usual suspects driving villa on

not the place to be mentioning something like that inside the rock. this is a football forum.

if celtic add dwayne to paul kennedy ian fraher, paul shanahan and paddy o donnell etc they will pose serious attacking threat this season.maybe they lack a target man type striker ( eg aaron moroney) but they have serious pace in there team.

town have made few good signings brings bit more quality to there squad. saints have made 2 excellent signings in richie ryan and ross cosgrove i would imagine both will go straight into starting 11.

still no word on any cahir, cashel, rock rovers or wilderness signings ? anyone any info on there squads for new season
if it wasnt for birds and booze id have played for ireland juniors!!!!!

Jesus Insidetherock that comment is in very poor taste,do your own credibility a favour and remove it,this forum is definitely not the place for that, not to mention im sure its libelous

    And we're off....................

InsidetheRock asked a simple question about a footballer who was reported in the media for being arrested on possession of drugs............................. Whats the problem? He said nothing libelous. He only asked if there had been an outcome to the courtcase...........

To all Clubs, I wish you a good season 2010/2011!!

People are always spoken about on this forum...............be it about players, managers or referees. There character, especially that of referees is constantly called into question. Its a forum, to voice opinion and Insidetherock asked a simple question which I see he retracted but I for one don't see why you reacted the way you did questioning his character..........

Not questioning his character one bit,i actually think his posts are usually without bias and inciteful, his previous post was an error of judgement and im not at all surprised he deleted it,you are being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative, there was no way he could leave that post up and he didnt so surely we can move on

Apologies if people took exception to my post/query, but it was not meant to be provocative or derogatory, it was simply asking a question.

Given that the particular case is a matter of public record it doesn't have any libellous potential attached.

It was a footballing question in the sense that it could impact on the players ability to play at some point, and therefore also have an impact on the club he plays with, but I accept the decision of moderators to remove the post

(I moderate a forum elsewhere, so I understand reticence to discuss certain matters)

Now, back to footballing only matters... what about the "Wildie"... are they picking up any stray Town, Celtic, Bridge players ?
What about the Wildie anyone ?

No hassle,so tell me who is going to win the major honours this season? Im going with

    1- Clonmel Town
    2-Peake Villa
    3-Celtic
    4-Saints

I would fancy Villa to lift the Tipp Cup and keep some sort of momentum going and i reckon a TSDL side will lift Munster or Fai

The League is going to be very tight in my opinion. Any of the top 4 could do it. Town will have a good mix of youths with pace to add to there new signings and current experienced players. Celtic have also signed a few and will also be a threat. If rumours are to be believed Michaels have signed several good players from Limerick and will also be stronger than last season. Peake on the other hand I havent heard much about, I'd be worried for them if they haven't signed a few quality players to add to last seasons League winning squad....... So without sitting on the fence, I honestly think its to tough to call between the 4. The first 4 weeks of the season should tell us alot. I for one as a neutral.....can't wait!!

ross cosgrave could not get on fairview,so why is he a good signing.they lost their best player in kiely, how come no-one is tipping them to win league when they got to the fai final last year, even though it was by default, but they were still there?

Now that Rock Rovers have pulled out of the league will it be an 8 team league or will Oldbridge or Borris perhaps stay up?

When did you hear that Rock Rovers pulled out ?

I know they weren't universally liked but it's terrible to see any team have to fold. They'd some cracking players when they actually got down to playing imho.
