no prob will sort those out for you and lads!!!! i suppose we will see ye tue night?? massive game next sat grattan-kinsale, draw would be lovely!!

leeside c 2-0 dunbar b in corinthians cup
into quarter of this cup now and semi of county cup going further than our 2nd team. 13 wins in 14 since the start of year. on some role and fantastic achievement for a third team in the club. really helps when getting big turn outs every week and all the youth that we have in the club. going to have a go off team of month for last month, 6 wins out of 6 and three where against higher opposition in cup games so think we will be there abouts for it, anyone else with a good record for the month of march?

Apologies for the delay at the start, There was a mystery bus outing yesterday to blame for that.
1 all at half time and ye deserved ye're 3pts as our guys never theatened your keeper in the 2nd half and only for a couple of top class saves by our custodian ye could have won it by more.

As I always say there is a fine spread put on in O'Callaghan's Bar after every Coachford home game, More teams should avail of it. Cheers for that Onefoot, Hope ye enjoyed your day after the couple of scoops
Thank's junglegym, we were glad of the refreshments & sandwiches in O' Callaghans afterwards as the heat was a killer. No I wasn't playing, I retired a few years back but I'm still involved in the club. We needed that win badly so thank god for that Coachford mystery tour on Saturday !!!

That’s Cork transport little man. They’re ran by a good bunch of local fella's. Your dead right about the attitude towards the refs.
I remember having many conversations with blabbs and dinny long about the village moving down to that end of the field, I can never see why they didn't as it’s the only flat part of the field.
Well it's been utilized by a different code now but I’m happy that there is more sporting options for the youth in the locality

It works both ways tho lads where the rugby refs are concerned, yes the players respect every decision and never talk back but the respect from the refs towards the players is a lot better aswell, the likes of a few refs in the AUL and there attitude to players is a disgrace,

I think though that rugby has a clearer "method" for discussion. A referee in rugby is encouraged to speak/explain his decision to both captains and both captains within reason are allowed to query decisions. But also if another player other than the two captains pushed the chat a bit there is a clear punishment - a penalty in rugby can simply cost 3 points or see a team having to troop back 50 yards. I can tell you a guy feels the stares from his pack of forwards when they have to run back after a penalty for chat back...

I don't think soccer referee's are given the instruction to explain certain decisions but I've always found the guys who will talk/explain tend to get on better with both sides and tend to manage/control a game better. Again though I've helped out on a few occasions refereeing a few underage friendlies and some junior kick-abouts. It was the toughest job I've ever tried... and it is unreal the amount of shouting and screaming goes on directed at the ref, I hadn't realised until I was the ref!!! I'll be honest it helped me change the way I spoke to referee's - tried to speak more than shout/scream - but maybe it was me just getting older and wiser.

Good question - one off the top of my head would be Tag-rugby; it is quite popular and I can tell you it probably involves more flat out sprinting than most games... Also is a short season so you wouldn't be committing for too long...

Another good win for Innishvilla at the weekend after a close fought win over Blackpool won 2:1 first league goal conceded since January - that is 12 league wins on the trot, 13 wins and 1 draw in last 14 league games and still looks likely we won't get promotion - need someone else to take points off Glenvale... Fingers crossed that Hibs can help us out this weekend.

Also Ballyvolane Youths and Innishvilla youths look like it could go down to the wire. Ballyvolane with one game left (away to Innishvilla) are 12 point clear of us we have 4 games in hand so I guess the league will try and wait and see if Innishvilla win their games in hand to leave it all down to a head to head decider for the title - I hope it goes down to this as they have both been outstanding this season. Ballyvolane as said earlier getting to the Cup semi final only to meet the all conquering Cork City side and Innishvilla getting to the out of tiwn section in both the Munster and FAI youth cups...

3-1 at Castle at the weekend. Good game. Castle played much better than the week before in front of a Waterloo fan club. All the goals in the second half. Last away game Thurs then 6 home games.

On the rugby v football scenario- rugby is leaving football behind in all aspects of the game and you know the one big difference between the people who run rugby and the people who run football- you never see any of the rugby leaders blabbing in the press about anything they just get on with making the game better.
Forget what YOU want and think about the CLUB before there is none.

    Thumbs up

Mario as I said I watched most of yer game Saturday an I though the ref handled it very well.He spoke to players rather than booking them.An he did warn players to concentrate on the football rather than being caught up with some of the hand bags that was goin on.It wasnt a dirthy game but I suppose with the pressure on for the last 10 for ye to try to win, then the games manship goes missing(along with the matchball) I can understand things gettin a bit hot.But theirs none of us angels an it aint all the refs fault .He actually did ye a lot of favours Saturday.

Littleman to be fair the ref had a great, he actually is a good ref but we (well i) never had many complaints against refs but i can tell you if you saw the ref last Thursday night i dont think you would have looked at this person in the same light again. Now i for one will applaude a ref when he does well look back at my posts and you will see that and 90% are good refs but i hope to god we never get that ref again and i hope the AUL act in our favour the players and give us a bit of justice ............

Our right back Willy O Shea is just class ( hasnt played ball for 3-4 years but flying with us), Spud on the right is a great player (littleman tried to sign him at start of season and tried hard to) Niall Collins in the centre another excellent player on the ball, Judge our left back in my opinion is the best left back around good on the ball likes to get the ball down and play football and a very intelligent player who organise's the defense well, John Cronin up front scores every other game and you'd know he is out with a knee injury the last few weeks cos our goals seem to have dried up without him, plus he has been doing it with Bohs for years, and David Cronin on goal and i stand by this comment is the best keeper in the AUL definately in the top 3 easy, already teams trying to sign him for next year and not just AUL there is also MSL teams enquiring about him i have been told.. David Lynch aswell at centre half is 10 time3s the player Bevan is and thats a fact, now im not knocking bevan cos he is a very good player in fairness to the lad but its just annoying the way we are overlooked...

So for an AUL manager or selector or talent scout to not have a look at these players is a bit of an insult to say the least, as the Best team outside the premier leagues and better than some in them leagues surely thats a bit of a joke...

Suppose the only positive from it is we dont have to worry about players getting injured as our squad is being stretched to the limits already with injuries and the AUL thinking we are robots and can play 7 games in 11 days, and prob will have another 7 games in the following 11 days. A JOKE
Mario if i was you id be happy not to have anyone on the panel at this stage of the league, now dont get me wrong if you think there good enough youd like to see ur players get rewarded with a call up but just bite the bullet for now and grind out ur remaining fixtures, win the league and get in to Premier A football and it will be clear to see if these players are good enough and theyll soon be on the radar!!

Fair points Ghost,I must have missed that post when it came up first time round.Other wise I would have explained a few things the right way instead of the Bohs way.Comment about Spud an me wantin to sign him an I tryed really hard is funny,an I have no problem explaining. An the best team outside the Prem/A.Id say Springfield, may be Kilumney or Glenvale at full strenght.

Mario, how about I say nothin anymore about Figo. Why dont you ask anyone else what they think of him,an if they dont agree with what you think tell them your fed up of them blowin their holes as well.

You voiced your opinion on what ya know about your players is fine with me,I guess every club could argue to have one or more players on the squad..But with regards to Spud an me trying very hard to sign him well thats just not the way it went.So do me a favour an if your going to mention my name at least leave it be the correct story of what actually happened.

An lastly Mario ye did beat Glenvale, but Mayfield and Dillons beat ye in games I watched so dose that make them better than ye.I based my comment on football knowledge an experience an what Iv seen of the teams I mentioned encluding ye.It wasnt a snide comment,an id say the same to anyone.

We'v lost to Springfield an Kilumney this season an Im big enough to admit we lost to a better team,on the day.

ya littleman i could agree with you there, altough i havent seen Kilumney i work with a lad playing and he said there very strong this year, you would know from ealier in the season?? Glenvale have some excellent players good to see them back winning!! and ive seen douglas hall a few months ago excellent footballing team and a few weeks later they hammered blackstone and are in the AOH semis Innisvilla, Springfield who i heard gave an excellent account of themselves against Pike.

i was onto the fixture sec earlier trying to organise a midweek fixture, FIGO VS BOHS XI
to sort this out once and for all!!!

Big game over the weekend littleman could the title direction swing once more?? bet leeside would love a draw!!
