It ha. But that wasn't the issue at hand. The issue was why Galway are so happy to ignore what is clearly a travesty of sporting principles. Your reply is utterly meaningless in that regard.

All I did was give you a scarf
Are Ucd fans bought that easily??
Now best stick our heads back under the parapet before some Galway fan comes rampaging through screaming "criteria, massive, tiny, IAG, five years" and other such words in a vain attempt at justificationComment

And a fine scarf it was too! It's got more to do with where I was born though, remember? And the fact that there isn't a Kerry team yet. Once Tralee Dynamos or Tarbert Kickers come in next year, you can sod off.

As much as I'd love to see us playing Premier Division football next year, I think it would be better for us to go up as Champions of the First Division. I know all about criteria etc etc, but let's face it, as a football team, we're not good enough. There was a lot of mediocrity, even after Cousins arrival.
We had a few impressive results and good performances towards the end of last season, but do we really want to go up and have to inevitably struggle against relegation. We've lost our best player for the past 2 years and will do well to find a good enough replacement. We'd need at least 5 or 6 players at least to compete. In the long term, I'd prefer to go up as the best team in the division and then build on that success.
By the way, i hate having to agree with Lim till I Die cos he spouts some awful rubbish, but it would be a very empty feeling.Comment

I've had an empty feeling for the past 5 years watching 1st division crap, i wouldnt mind having an empty feeling watching premier division crap

there are way to many get out clauses all over the place - as someone earlier said - this could go to courts - ala shels etc. over the years
the rules that were put down at the start should have been stuck to and unaltered - with no loopholes in it
but this is the FAI what do we expect!more water!Comment

Originally posted by sduffyAll will be revealed next Monday. For what its worth, I'd imagine that Dundalk are in with an outside chance, Galway have no mission. It amazes me that throwing money at gaining promotion appears to be regarded as progressive and an indication that a club is professionally run on this message board.
As far as I am concerned it won't be the end of the world if we don't make it. As for this line about, "its what Dundalk signed up for". What Dundalk signed up for was an assessment over a 5 year period, not 4. We also signed up to a licencing system that stipulated a minimum seating requirement for a premier licence yet Drogheda United appear to have been awarded a premier licence while coming nowhere near the required number of seats. Its amazing that they appear to have been given a licence on the strength of a development proposal, yet Finn Harps were refused a premier licence despite also having a development proposal.
What is all this throwing money to gain promotion "Bull****" coming from. The work that has gone on at United over the last 4 years has been in sorting out our club from the bottom up to ensure we met all requirements for Licencing and the criteria for the new Premier Division.
Fair Play to Dundalk for their on field progress this season but without your "Sugar Daddy" would the club still be in existence.
From what I hear things behind the scenes in Oriel are not as good as we are led to believe and losing one of your best assets on a whim of the owner is not exactly the best way to run a club.We are the Galway Boys Stand up and make some noise"Comment

I think you forget but we also have received a Premier license and met the criteria. By spouting the crap of Massive club, best run club etc etc some of you feel that you will sway the FAI decision. How ofay are you all with things that go on behind the scenes at other clubs, You seem to know more about every other club in this league than the supporters who go to the games of their teamComment
