Castlebar Celtic C 2-3 Clew Bay Utd

Celtic opened the scoring against the run of play with a header from a corner, Clew Bay equalised soon after and took the lead deservedly before half time. Clew Bay made it 3-1 in the second half only to concede a very late penalty in the dying minutes to make it 3-2. Clew Bay deserved the win and probably should have won by a bigger margin

Was at the Cross Mulrany match. Cross very unlucky not to get something out of the game. Hit the crossbar a number of times, headers going marginally wide, etc.. Thought the pitch was very bumpy - this did not help Cross either.

We had it rolled on Wednesday, it didn't help that GAA played TWO matches on it Friday evening!

three games in and clew bay and ballyheane seem to be setting the pace in 2A.
i felt that 2B mightnt be as competitve, but its very close after the first few games.

is there an easier division or they bought the same?

This weekend should be interesting in 2B as the two 100% teams (Castlebar Town and Mulranny meet)

Will be a tough game. Should give an indication of how things might pan out for the season but it's early days yet. Town have promised much in previous seasons and flattered to decieve!

Cross Celtic V Claremorris B, match abandoned one of the Claremorris lads got a really bad injury, looked like a broken leg or ankle, hope he's doing okay. Game had started very well, would've been very open.

I was talking to the management on sunday, and they said Clew Bay did not have all the play, they said a draw was a fair result.

Cbar Town and Mulranny played out a scoreless draw.

Mulranny defence is very tight. Ask Cross who unsuccessfully laid siege to them a few weeks ago.

clew bay playing against ballyheane tonight at 6pm.big game in that division with both teams needing a win if they're to hold any serious title aspirations.fancy clew bay to beat them but with ballyheane's first team not playing they will probably bring a good squad with them to louisbourgh.

clew bay beat ballyheane 4-3! ballyheane opened the score through a free kick on the edge of the box with clew bay equalising 5 mins later with a penalty. ballyheane took a 2-1 lead into half time through a good finish inside the box. clew bay came out strong in 2nd half and equalised and took the lead 3-2 soon after. clew bay were then awarded another penalty for hand ball but missed the penalty and the chance to put the game pass ballyheane. ballyheane then punished clew bay as they got a penalty for a push making score line 3-3. however with 5 minutes to go clew bay scored a screaming dipping shot that left the goal keeper with no chance, clew bay winning a hard faught game 4-3

Ballyvary BB 0 1 Snugboro B

The wind had a big impact on this game. Shnugboro dominated the first half with Ballyvary not even having a shot on goal. In the second half with the wind at their backs Ballyvary began to impose themselves on the game and forced numerous corners but could not capitalise on the pressure. Some solid defending from Snugboro.

There were a few surprises in the cup yesterday. Mulranny beaten by an in-form Glenisland & Castlebar Town being beaten at home by Ballina United. Swinford losing to Westport C and Claremorris winning away to Ballyheane. Cross Celtic beat Castlebar Celtic C in a tough but fair game in Celtic Park. Cross took the lead after 4 minutes but were pegged back with 8 minutes left in the first half. Scored the winner with 15 mins to go. Celtic C had good spells of posession but a Cross win was a fair result.:D

Yes Clew Bay away! Should be a really tough game, they're coming thick and fast now as we have Glenisland home in the league next then the same opposition away in the other cup.

is it Clew Bay in the next round for Cross?

Hopefully it'll be a good game. It'll give a good indication of how the 2 sections of the Division are set up. Both teams doing well in their section, and with a few of the early form teams being knocked out last weekend, it'll be all to play for.

Any early scores ? Cross Celtic scraped past Knock/Kiltimagh by one-nil. Cross had 5 one-on-ones in total and only took scored one. Knock/Kiltimaghs goalkeeper was excellent, and Cross were left hanging on at the end, it took a brilliant save from John Gallagher to keep them ahead.
