claremorris b 1-2 ballina utd. ballina had a big lad that they aimed every free kick and corner at, caused a bit of confusion. claremorris had chances to get level near the end

Difficult game but better team won, we were a bit light tonight due to Thursday evening - work etc, but Clew bay are a very good side and will take some stopping.

I have to agree, played against Clew Bay last year, they have to be favourites for the cup and league win, no disrespect to the other teams.
Anymore early scores ? Cross Celtic 3 Manulla C 2, good open game.

Clew Bay beat Ballyvary 3-1, ballyvary held out until the second half but Clew Bay were 2 strong. Heard Mulranny beat Ballyglass 15-0 had ballyglass any players at all???
Other results from 2B, Castlebar Town 1 Glenisland 2, Hollister 3 Claremorris B 4, Mulranny 15 Ballyglass 0.

Clew Bay fully deserved the win. We managed to contain them in the first half but they got two goals inside 20 mins of the 2nd half from set pieces, we managed to grab one back to make for an entertaining final 20 mins, thought we might pull something out of it but Clew Bay finished strong and grabbed the third 5 mins from the end.
They are a very solid, well organised side that will grind out the results and must be favourites to top league. Best of Luck to them.

That crossed my mind too, they also beat Swinford B. Also what happens to goal difference ?

yep agreed. the other question is if you don't field a team is it still 300 euro fine or if you give notice is this ok? it used to be if you gave notice to other team there was no action taken bar 3-0 win for team. :)

Goal difference does not matter in our league, if teams finish even on points for title or play off positions and they have different goal differences they playoff.:ball:

I know that when Lacken dropped out of league (Div. 1) a few years back all teams were awarded the 6 points - actually worked against us and we ended up relegated.

it is really not fair on team that can only field low numbers of players. all clubs find that is hard to field two team or even 3 for some. if you look at a bad injury run or even college exams and leaving cert it pulls down the number and this is only right. there should be some rule update that if a team knows that they are not going to be able to field 11 at least that 3-0 win should be applied without any fine etc. but if this happens 3 time then a fine applies. most clubs what to get more and more players into the cycle. that is why reserver football is there etc

No. Whats not fair is when a team fields 9 players against one team and then fields a strong team against an other. This causes smaller clubs to question their existence as their attempt to rise from basement football is so tough due to playing against teams that are playing higher league players in their 2nd and third teams. If clubs cannot fulfill their fixtures with an adequate number of players for each team they should not enter B and C teams. This practice of 'borrowing' A and B team players when the lower teams are stuck must cease.

Have to agree with that. A Team players should not have to be drafted in to play B or C football. If a club is tight on numbers then they should know this well in advance of season starting and if in any doubt should not enter a 2nd or 3rd team when they will have to rely on borrowing players. Its not a level pitch for others in the division cause they don't know what tem they will meet i.e. the real B or C team or a mix of As thrown in.

This case of B and C teams borrowing A team players also occurs when the B or C team reaches a cup final, suddenly lower league teams are playing teams in their division that might be half full of A team players

Ref was bad for both sides, Town probably had the better chances, but I felt we had just as much of the ball.

One of the Snugboro B players is getting married on the day of the final, not sure how many will be missing, not many i hope. 30 players have lined out for the B team this season so far, so they shouldn't be short on numbers......
Cross Celtic 2 Castlebar Town 2, very good football match. Cross went 1 down, fought back to lead 2-1 playing really good football, but Town finished really strongly, scored late on and hit the bar in the last minute so could have stolen it.

It was a good open game, we were short of a lot of players so we will take the draw, it looks like a four team challenge for the league and playoff. Does anyone know the result of Glenisland v Mulranny? :)

Surley a cup final is more important than a wedding, as long as the groom is there, its a no brainer for me.

Think Snugboro can win the cup, Ballina depend heavily on there striker, if he can be kept at bay they dont have alot besides. we were very disappointed we didnt win it. Bounced back well against S & F last night beating them 2-0. Few Ballina lads there supporting S & F:) think they fancy there chances of winning the league
