Kellys sending off was blatant, think Rico ****ed about Gibsons horror tackle on Bennet i think , it was awful Gibson is not blessed with pace and lunged into a tackle that should have been a striaght red.

Few other dodgy tackles from both sides odd only 1 player sent off.

You summed it up pretty well in the 2 posts. Good entertaining game but I was very disappointed in us tbh. We lacked shape, defense was very shaky and without Roy we're toothless upfront.

Good reuslt in the end given we'd only 9 men but we need to improve big time.

Dont blame Rico tbh, it was a horrible tackle and the rumour is the lad has a broken or fractured ankle.

Athlone 0-1 Wexford. Wexford also missed a penalty. 25 minutes or so to go.

Cobh 0-0 Harps.

Mctiernan sent off for Athlone, really poor season from Athlone. I thought they would have been challenging for promotion, considering their pre-season spending.

Harps still 0-0 with Cobh.

Clear as day penalty IMO. That's the third time that winger has roasted us this season - in the League cup game and he has won two pens in the league games.

Great pen though!! Out of the ground, it's been 20 years since Ray McGuiness did the same thing for us.

LOL. He pushed Horgan after Horgan lashed into him. It was right in front og me. If anything reffed bottled sending off Horgan

Gutted as we played well and deserved to win. Ah well we've ribbed points off Cork down there afair bit recently so they were due...

You obviously missed him kicking out at Horgan, straight red from anybody other than that yellow clown Hancock

Gibson should have been a straight red too, disgraceful tackle

No access to TV - are City playing their full first team?

City not playing Devine, Gamble, Farrelly, Woods, O'Flynn or O'Donovan. Probably half a team but also bring on some fring squad members off the bench.

Sunderland on top but abismal finishing & just like the Bohs game still look like a Championship side.

So they are taking it seriously...

1-1 FT. Good work out for City squad players. I think we only played first teamers as did not want to start U21 players.

Think we finished with 5-6 U21 players.

Squad members such as O'brien, Softic & Ryan (back from injured) all got 90 minutes & Brian O'Callaghan came off the bench (back from injured).

All first team players who played last friday with the exception of Lordan did not play 90 minutes,

I think if Dan 'baresi' Murray had stayed on City would have won.

Sunderland are rubbish even allowing for pre season rustiness. I think the Premiership could be an eye opener for Saint Niall.

Agreed, hopefully their cynical little hearts and mind expedition will do more harm than good as Irish punters realise how desperately mediocre they are. I'm probably giving them too much credit, though.

Did Keane do an interview after the Bohs game? Pretty rude not to talk to TG4 considering they're devoting several hours of programming to promoting jersey sales and short breaks in North East England.

The guys didn't seem too happy, did I hear a jibe about prawn sandwiches:confused: :)

I know its best not to read into friendlies but I don't know where the goals are going to come from for Sunderland. They created plenty of openings but Connolly failed to get in any shot of note and Stern John several times rattled the woodwork . . . . . . . of the Shed.
Roy O'Donovan could get games sooner rather than later if he went there imo.

It was said that Newcastle Airport could not cope with any more flights from Ireland. "It was like an All-Ireland Final day at Croke Park" remarked one Irish supporter. "The atmosphere was electric"

Finally, we have a website to cater for "the executive supporters for one of Cork's most famous sons, Roy Keane". :)

It's quite something when people are going to support the Manager of a football team isn't it ? Bizarre. Why don't they just go and camp outside Roys house for a couple of hours ?

They are going to get locked and fill their faces. Football just provides an acceptable excuse to their partners and a tenuous link to an Irish manager completes the self-deception.

You'll find a lot of the potential punters doing the same at the Galway races this week, where the real racing fans show equal contempt for them as we do.

I would be very interested to hear the opinion of any barstoolers after that game.

The cross looked great with a full house, pitch in good shape & nice evening sunshine. The new shed stand nicely encloses the ground.

Why aren't prawn sandwiches actually served (http://www.prawnsandwichbrigade.com/packagedetails.html)?
I was talking to a few barstoolers. They'd nothing interesting to say and only talked about how well/poorly Sunderland played.

Dunno about barstoolers, but I thought it looked really well on TV. Pity they can't have the camera facing the main stand though. I know this has been raised before, but RTE used to have the camera on that side years ago, why can't it be done now?. Anyhow, notwithstanding that ,the ground is a credit to Cork. Nice to see a four sided Irish ground, there's not too many of those (now includes Richmond though )

I've found the whole Sunderland tour to be a real sickener.Same here, what annoys me most is Steve Staunton going to all the games. Rarely(if ever?) seen at an EL game before and then shows up at all 3 of these meaningless one. Such a *****! He shouldn't have got a seat in front row of new stand tonight, should have been made stand up with the many others:mad:.

btw, will Galway get fined for the use of flares before the match tonight?:p That was also sickening actually...
