I just read on BBC that Hughton has made 60 substitutions this season and not one has contributed a goal or an assist.

The treatment of Hoolahan really saddens me. A manager that doesn't want to play him, against any kind of basic logic; club refuses to sell him - out of childish spite - to another club; Elmander, Van Wolfswinkel and Snodgrass play week in, week out despite playing ****e all season and failing to provide any assists or goals; no creativity in the team; baffling use of substitutes (always after 70 or 75 minutes; never work).
Hoolahan's only hope of game time is if Hughton gets sacked but time is running out. How typical that manager's are getting sacked left, right and center but Hughton sticks around like the proverbial turd that won't flush.

Snodgrass has consistently been Norwich's best attacking player. You're correct, however, regarding the other pair; they've been dross.

I'd have to assume he has at least one Irish grandparent.
Aidan Fitzmaurice certainly isn't giving away any clues.
Although born in England and with Italian parents, Dimaio is playing for Ireland, having been capped at U17 level and is likely to feature for the U19s in their next bout of European Championship qualification in May.

Perhaps it was resdency, born in England grew up in a chipper in the west of ireland or Dublin.

I know of those foreigners who were a fan of highlander that had no connection to ireland who also gave their children an Irish name!

Lots of American and Canadian snowboarders in the Olympics have Irish names. Patrick Deneen was one that stood out. Genetically we're really good at winter sports.

The only guy we had at the snow olympics was some lord who raced downhill on a serving tray. But if some canadian called Paddy did declare for us, you can assume he has some blood line connection.

Lord Clifton Wrottesley. He came 4th.
Seamus O'Connor did ok in the snowboarding. Cool green pants too. I think he's only 16.

I used past tense.
Not referring to this Olympics.
But I suppose I couldn't care less about an Irish American at the winter olympics, not racing downhill on a tray on his belly but standing up on one.
Maybe Stu has some grá for the winter sports, we don't have enough snow for that in Iceland.

Perhaps, but I back it up at least, wacky or not! Also Richie Rooney will testify to that and his team at the Lobster ;)
Stutts he is indeed only 16 pretty good freestyling and the slopestyle. Interesting story of his heritage and general lineage.

Father is a plastic, who was born over here. Mother is Russian. Grew up in San Diego(up to maine..) speaks Uk English, American English, Russian and Irish.
Ok I was lying about the Irish but the rest is true. There is also a subtle subtext in there too for anyone else who read what he listens to to get him going.

Are you still on about that David Williams didn't choose the Western Pub location for his interview with Granny Rooney?
That Williams chose the location for his own comfort?
Your claim was and still is total bull. The location was chosen because it was Granny Rooney's place of comfort.
And now you're dragging this cráp around different threads, you are indeed desperate :)

No Geysir I said the local pub closest to their residence on stonebridge was hte lobster. I didnt give any credence to a couple of articles you saw years ago around world cup time and walliams or is that williams? I gave a source from someone who actually grew up there and lived there - of which I pm'd the name.
But if you want some throwaway articles here you go:

The last post I was not on about that, I didnt think you would cop the other bit, it was in relation to a song and music by The Dubliners which he listens to gearing up to the slopes.

More duplicity from Norwich. Again, the coincidental fact that Wes started 2 or 3 games in the build up to the transfer saga is brought up as if to indicate that Hoolahan is somehow in their plans. The only reason he played in any of those games is because they had 4 or 5 midfielders injured. He didn't play beforehand and he won't play again, unless Hughton is sacked.
It's getting to the stage where Hughton's reluctance to use him is becoming spiteful.
It would be fully understandable if they were in a better position without him in the team but the opposite is the case in pretty much everything; goals, assists, creativity, possession, points.

I suspect it's all down to relations between Norwich and Villa / Lambert. Or maybe they didn't want to strengthen another club possibly competing with Norwich to stay up.

Let's hope Tottenham beat Norwich this afternoon to hasten his demise and we never have him interfere with another Irish footballer's career again.

I sincerely hope he doesn't.
Mick McCarthy is still relatively young in managerial terms though. He will probably be next manager after O'Neill and if not him, there are several British managers who would be better options.

The Irish commentator on BBC5 (don't know his name) said just now that Elmander & Van Wolfswinkel have one goal and only six shots on target between them this season. He was fairly open about what he thought of that going by his tone when delivering the stat too. Hard to have time for Hughton re Holahan when you hear things like that.

They're nullifying Spurs but have absolutely no threat going forward. The best that Glenn Hoddle could come up with at half time was for Redmond and Snodgrass to swap sides! It's crying out for Wessi to be honest.
Edit:- Hughton ignores Hoddle's advice and Snodgrass gives Norwich the lead, cutting in from the right hand side. 1-0.

I thought "still being linked" meant still being linked after the result today.
He's not still being linked because Norwich won. Norwich are not likely to change managers until their season is over, if their survival prospects look reasonable.

The joke doesn't work though because Lennon has made a few brief remarks about his links to the Norwich job as opposed to rhapsodizing about it after every Norwich/Celtic game or training session and Lennon would be a focal point as manager of Norwich as opposed to being a squad member competing for a squad place with several other defenders. :p

The only way Hughton should be judged on his work with Norwich. He should do what's best for the club.
The impact that his decisions on selection or tactics might have on the international prospects of any of his players is none of his concern really.
