Travel -

Train leaves Dublin Connolly at 8:05am and gets in at 11:10am. Return to Dublin leaves at 5:55pm and gets in at 9:00pm.

Bus leaves Busáras at 8:30am and gets in at 12:20pm. Return to Dublin leaves at 6:00pm and gets in at 9:55pm. The bus and train station are in the same place in Sligo.

Don't know if there are any private companies who do buses between the two?

Nothing to get you in before kick off anyway. Pain in the bottom. Going to have to drive up myself.

Sunday morning obviously. I'd get the bus or train if I was heading up on Saturday.

11:00am in the crossroads in Dundrum village.

A tolerance for five hours of 80s classics will probably be necessary. :)

Train timetable (http://www.iarnrodeireann.ie/your_journey/printed_timetable_pdfs/2006/dublinsligo.pdf). The 8:00 train is the only one that will get there in time.

Ticket prices? (Doesn't matter to me - I refuse to use Bus Eireann since they screwed me over the weekend of my grandmother's funeral)

35 euro for a return fare on the train.

Bus is €26.50 for anyone else interested.

John, can you add the bus link above to the travel page on STIGonline?

About the match anyway- a win has to be the least we should be satisfied with. Tony Mc should be back which is a plus. I think Mahon has to drop Paul Byrne. He hasn't put in a decent performance for ages. Play Finn behind Sammon where he is best and put Tony Mc alongside McFaul. The team I'd like to see is:

------------Quigley------------

Mahon---McNally---Kenna---Gallagher

Bogdan--Tony Mc--McFaul---Doyler

----------------Finn---------------

---------------Sammo-------------

John83

Can Bogdan play on the right?

Meh, he can play on the left. Tomato, tomato...sort of...

Also, it's Bogdan.:) :ball:

Schumi

I'd say it's more likely that Kenna would play at left back and McMillan in the middle. apart from that I'd hope the team above starts.

You can't stop at the crossroads! How about Centra in Ballinteer seeing as we're heading for the M50?

I'll be in one of the buildings there most of the morning; I'll be parked either at the crossroads or at the Bring Centre opposite the Dundrum Shopping Centre. I'll be leaving from there at 11-ish, so won't be stopping at any crossroads - I'll be parked there!

Any UCD fan that has ever been to Sligo will know how annoyed I am that I can't make the trip (training).

Have a good time lads.

Seeming as this game is conveniently on a Sunday and can be got to and returned from by public transport perhaps it's worth e-mailing those few details to the supporters club e-mail list?

Struggling to get domestic green card for trip to sligo but pretending to be a lot more annoyed than i actually am, thereby making other away trips easier.

Last time, I think I left at 3:30 of a Friday evening and was in Sligo shortly after 7. Traffic was heavy enough on the M50 and the N4, as I recall. Leaving on 11am of a Sunday, would hope to be in shortly after 12, I suppose.

I assume others (John83 for one) are heading up on the train with you though?

Given our recent (and even not so recent) history against you, a win in this one would probably be even more welcome than over one of the top three.

Count me in so, and I assume Schumi's a possibility there too.

I hope you can make it, or I'm out. Awkward Sligo circus freaks. Never trust a carney. They smell of cabbage. :(

one of the funnier moments in recent times in the showgrounds is when at a rovers-UCD match i was in the shed looking into the new stand. there i saw a few rovers fans with a few cans, drinkin away.....then behind him sat a UCD supporter sipping on a big carton of apple juice, funny at the time anyway. geek
