Great result for Fahy against Westport B on Saturday. We are beginning to get a bit of form and have some of our missing players back in action. Great performance from David Feehan in goal to stop Westport, who were unlucky not to score and even more unlucky not to get a penalty in the second half. They have some top players and should do well this year. Chris Ryder looks like he will be swapping B for A sooner rather than later and Ronan O Malley is a good addition on the wing. As for us, I think if we can maintain a decent squad and avoid the injury spree we have been on all year we should easily climb up the table. To be honest though, without meaning to offend anyone, I don't think any team in our division could stay in the super league with their current squads. Anyone any thoughts on this?
the results the last day for the other relegation threatened teams were bad for us really although i do feel that if we can keep a reasonably injury free squad that we can climb back up the table.the game against westpport was pretty even although we did also have the ball in the westport net on three other seperate occasions other that the two that were given-all of which were rightly ruled off as offside.davey feehan in gola for us was fantastic and easily kept us in the game.if we can build up a bit of momentum we'll be flying!swinford this weekend though will be a very tough test however-dont know if we've ever beaten them in any competition.maybe this sunday all that could change??!!what do you think swinford?whats happened to yee this season?as somebody else said yee seem to be blowing very hot and cold in some of your matches this year.
as for any of the teams being capable of sustaining a challenge to the super league sides for next year i dont think so.bangor could well be good enough in a few years time when their young team have had a chance to develop a bit b ut i think its a little too soon for them at the moment.hope i have to eat my words though.they're the team with the most promise in this division though and dont think any other team could compete on a regular basis in the super league next season.

Anyone coming up from the Premier League has to fancy themselves as good if not better than Crossmolina, Glenhest, Claremorris and Snugboro, so you should expect to stay in the top division. Teams above that in the league, especially Ballyheane and Manulla have an air of complacency about them so a result against these is usually possible. It's not as big a step up as you would assume.

Intersting fixtures ahead lads,
interesting match between robe and manulla, half of the 'robe' team are in donegal on a stag night so could be lacking numbers, rumour that delgado could tog out.
Manager walked out thursday night at training due to lack of numbers at training, you would expect a manulla win this weekend.

Another good win for Fahy this weekend puts them well out of the relegation places and should hopefully continue our surge upwards. Have to say that Swinford, despite playing nice football, totally lacked any bite at all, apart from their centre-halves and their winger, Keith Something-or-other. We had never beaten them before in three years and it was a bit worrying for them how easily our first victory came. Never thought I would say this but they look in trouble in this division now. Still think that they should pulll through though, considering the form of Ballyglass and Manulla B. As for us, Gary Goggins is scoring freely again and David Feehan has made the transition from striker to goalkeeper with ease. New signing Rob Fadden is causing hassle for defences, whilst having Joe Keane back fit is a huge addition to our team. What was your impression of the game Swinford? Were you playing?

things are shaping up in the league.balinrobe are looking good for the title and bangor are doing very well for themselves.with eight games left how do people see things panning out?swinford seem to be in freefall at the moment.i'd be very surprised if the went down but such is football!ballyglass dont look to be in great shape either.nice to see ourselves finally getting a decent run of results to push us up the table a little bit.far from safe or anything but hopefully our recent good form continues!

It looks good alright for Ballinrobe and in fairness a team who have not lost a game all season are deserving of their title.

we had a hard fought win against manulla on sunday, went a goal down again and in fairness showed great spirit to fight back even after missing a penalty in the first half, there are still 24 points to play for so anything could happen, we are just taking it game by game and giving 110%, ballyglass and achill could be in trouble, one thing is for certain though, relegation is well clear for us this year!!

I think that if Fahy win this weekend, which I think they can, they will be there or there abouts at the end of the season. I know our start was terrible but we are really beginning to gather a bit of momentum and with all the other teams taking points off each other we couls still be in with a shout at the finale. Eight points to gain on Bangor though! Interesting to see if Ballinrobe can take three points off celtic this weekend. I have a suspicion they won't if they play like they did against us. The Bangor match is the hardest to call but I fancy them to beat manulla.

This is the daftest division ive seen in a while! anyone can get promoted or relegated in a few weeks! nothing between teams according to the unpredictable results that crop up. Juan Pablo- am i right in saying ye were a game away from relegation to div 1 last year, and now headin for the super league? Just shows how strange that division is!

fair play to yee balinrobe.in all fairness its a bit rough knocking a team who are going so well in the league and a wee bit premature in saying that they haven't a hope in the super league next year already.bit negative really.i wouldnt be at all surprised if ballyglass went down but with the extreme unpredictiveness(if thats even a word??)of this division its incredibly difficult to forecast who will go down this year.i'd say at the moment though it is hard to look past the likes of ballyglass, swinford and achill.

yeah was a very good win for bangor and they probably deserve to be up there at the top.very heavy defeat for ballinrobe-what happened to yee jp?especially as it was against ballyglass.as for ourselves-if you cant put the ball in the back of the net you wont win games!!we had at least five one on ones against manulla last weekend but just couldnt convert our domination into goals.they broke away with five minutes remaining and got a penalty.in fairness twas a smash and grab raid but they got the points-such is football!that result brings us right back into the relegation mire after other results didnt really go for either.puts a dent in our title aspirations now!!;)

Cant see the top two being ousted now. Thought we had a chance to make up the deficit but last weeks defeat has all but ended that dream. I expect Ballinrobe to drop quite a lot of points, but not enough to put S+F or ourselves into contention. The B teams are ineligible for promotion. At the bottom it's anyone from the bottom six, including the two I mentioned for promotion! One thing I really believe though; whoever goes up is coming straight back down. The standard this season has been pretty abysmal and considering Glehhest hockeyed everyone last year I have no confidence whatsoever in the chances of the promoted teams, unless they seriously strengthen their squads.

So how do you see the season ending up at this stage? I reckon that Bangor or Westport will win the title, with Bangor and Ballinrobe going up. I think Ballinrobe will lose points to Fahy, Bangor and Westport B but still gain promotion. Whatever about Bangor's chances of survival in the Super league, Ballinrobe would have to recruit heavily in order to avoid embarassment at that level. I was not impressed by them at all but I suppose they are where they are for a reason! The relegation zone is much less easy to predict, with a good few teams involved, but it's hard to see past the bottom four of Achill, Swinford, Ballyglass and Manulla b. They pretty much all have to play each other so it should be interesting to see who survives. I can't call it anyway. Anybody got an opinion on these matters???
