Martin McDonald has taken charge this year and doing a good job thus far,at this early stage, as for the blades, i wouldn't have a clue when to wear them as i don't know who you play for?!!! and for the record, i don't have blades!:):D

the forum has gone very quiet, where is Fahyforever gone after his recent mention in the Mayo News i think, and swinfordfc to name but a few.

any other people on the forum representing there premier division club that has a view??

ah i'd be a fahy man through and through so you might need the blades for the game in milebush!meaning footwaer and not the sharp thing that you cut your bread with!:D looking forward to our annual tussle this year and as i've said prviously hopefully we get the win!!

Ballinrobe Town 2 - 0 Achill Rovers

Robe stay top of table!

Bangor Hibs and Swinford drew 2-2 so both teams within touching distance of Balinrobe on top - both on 7pts and Ballinrobe on 10pts.
i do believe Ballinrobe are travelling to Bangor next saturday evening?

Bangor Hibs a good side and wont be to far away at the end of the season - very strong at home so it remains to see how they do away from home! - good tough side - big game for both sides! :D

Celtic And Manulla drew 3-3
Celtic 3-1 up , sloppy defending and penalty got Manualla back.

Manualla sub player sent off for not going into the dugout, not going behind the wall and asking the ref if he had a problem and asking him to send him off!! Looder of the week away!! Stink of booze off the lad would knock an ass.

Bangor Hibs 1
Ballinrobe 1

decent result for robe against bangor, they are a good team and will take points off the other teams in the division, from our own point of view we have taken 11 points out of 15 in the first 5 matches, another point away from relegation is one way of at looking at it!!

Achill Rovers 1 v 3 Westport Utd.’B’
Bangor Hibs. 1 v 1 Ballinrobe Town
Castlebar Celtic ‘B’ 3 v 3 Manulla ‘B’
Straide & Foxford Utd. 5 v 1 Fahy Rovers
Swinford 1 v 3 Ballyglass

manulla get there first point of the season, S&F have clmbed to 7 points with a game in hand i think, they play Celtc on thursday evening i think,

any views on how the league is shaping up??

yeah its all pretty tight at the mo alright but not too impressed with the way that we've started!!bit of a hammering below in foxford on saturday night.they play some nice football but didn't think that we deserved to get beaten by such a big margin-honestly!we went in at the break two down after a decidedly dodgy offside decision-not the only one that the ref made either!how phillip redmond is reffing premier division matches i'll never know!he just hovers round the centre of the pitch for the game.i know it sounds like sour grapes but its not.as the scoreline would suggest we were beaten by the better team.should have scored a few in the first half but such is our failings.thank god we've got a week or two off to get back on track!
a win or three on the trot for any of the teams could see them pull away.manulla aren't that bad and they never give in-we almost let them back in against us when we were three up against them.s and f are probably the best side we've played so far(don't get too upset yet jp we haven't played yee or bangor yet;))

Any match reports from the games last weekend? some good games played. the league is starting to take shape but could it be to early for that. was ment to have been a good game between Manulla b and S&F? wasnt at it but heard it was. strong wins for the robe and banger. if they keep goin the way there goin they'll be in the super league next year.

Celtic B deserved the win over Ballyglass who had nothing to offer, not even a shot on target.
The heat was a big factor but the ref had the sense to allow water on at intervals in the 1st and 2nd halves.
Neil Douglas scored a cracking finish across the keepr from the edge of the 6 yard box.

Big win for Robe, not expected at all but makes for interesting times ahead.

Unfortunately S&f were missing half there team according to people that were at the game. no john jordan, no gerry gaughan and no alan mc donnell, so i wouldnt read to much into the result. but a great result for the robe. looks good for them this season.

S&F were missing players alright but in fairness Robe still needed to go and get the result.
The League could be an intersting setup this year.

Celtic V Fahy was a 3-3 result. 2 Penalties, some good chances and a few good stops by the Fahy keeper. Still would be 2 points dropped by Celtic as Fahy came from 2 down.

ah i dont know about that.in fairness fahy had all the early pressure and fell behind well against the general run of play.celtic took their chances when they fell to them early in the game where as fahy failed to do so.we deservededly drew level before half time, one of the goals coming from the spot after yet another synical challenge on our centre forward-every time he got a head of steam up he was hauled down with no yellow card being produced for any of them.no mention of the goal that never was either.thought it was a bit of a cop out by the ref awarding a corner kick when the ball was at least two yards inside the line.but in fairness i do think that overall a draw a fair result as our keeper did pull off a few good saves as did celtics though!!:Dso couldnt agree that it was two points dropped by celtic on the day going by the performance on the pitch by both sides.

Well we wont mention the issue about yer linesman having his flag up for a line ball then taking it down when the penalty was given! ;)

As for the disallowed goal whats a couple of feet in or out between friends :p

yes i agree the league is still very tight which is good, no one running away with it makes for a good second half to the season. heard from the Celtic u21 camp that they have sign gerry gaughan from S&F, any truth in this?? if this is the case S&F are under even more pressure considering they have an injury list as long as my arm, john jordan and alan mcdonnell are still out injured and you can tell with there results lately.

if ballinrobe can pull off a win saturday have have to be favourite to go up they could openin up a very good lead dependin on other results.

It's true that any side can beat another in this division this year. I felt Ballinrobe were lucky to get a point against us last weekend, although I'm sure Juan ablo et al may disagree. We have Westport B tomorrow night and it's always one we are up for. I think they must be favourites though, after hammering S+F last weekend. We have played well in the last two games after a dreadful start and I'm confident we will stay up at least, despite propping up the table at this stage. Would be nice to see more of an interest here too though!

you're very welcome to the forum allornothing!would you be leaning towards any particular team in the division?yeah its true that any team can beat anyone else on a given day which makes for a very tight division.its been like that though for the last couple of years although one team would usually stand out.wasnt at the fahy balinrobe game last weekend but i did hear that fahy owned the ball for almost the entire second half but couldnt create many chances-maybe juan pablo could confirm this to me?;)hope fahy's words arent going to be famous last words!!:Dhopefully we can pull out of trouble and tomorrow nights game against westport is going to be a massive one for us and indeed for them-could be an interseting one!

Regarding the fahy game last week, thought fahy were the better team overall, we had a good opening 30 mins but slacked off after we got the second goal, fair play to fahy for fighting back, could be a turnaround in there season, saying all that, we are still unbeaten this season, swinford AWAY tonight so 3 points would be a great result, we beat them last season 5-2 in a relegation decider so i think they will be up for it,mind you, they had a match thursday evening so tired legs may or may not be a factor.

Great results for Bangor and Fahy. S & F seem to be in real trouble whats happening there it cant be just because of injuries?? Swinford have a good young footballing side but they have had some really bad results i thought they would be pushing for promotion.

Great result for Fahy against Westport B on Saturday. We are beginning to get a bit of form and have some of our missing players back in action. Great performance from David Feehan in goal to stop Westport, who were unlucky not to score and even more unlucky not to get a penalty in the second half. They have some top players and should do well this year. Chris Ryder looks like he will be swapping B for A sooner rather than later and Ronan O Malley is a good addition on the wing. As for us, I think if we can maintain a decent squad and avoid the injury spree we have been on all year we should easily climb up the table. To be honest though, without meaning to offend anyone, I don't think any team in our division could stay in the super league with their current squads. Anyone any thoughts on this?

Have to agree 100%, no team in this years premier league could do anything in the super league, there just to big of a difference between ballina, westport and celtic compared to teams in the premier league.

is this 2 week break this going ahead at the end of july??

looks like robe are goin up with banger comin in second OR is it still to early to tell???

yes great results for banger and fahy, lookin good for banger. i also thought swinford would be there or there abouts... they just seem to go hot and cold.

speakin to someone from S&F they've lost 5 players to OZ from last year, hit very hard with injuries (john jordan & alan mcdonnell) and now gerry gaughan has signed for celtic u21.

Bangor Hibs would stay up and have some good young players coming through a good youth set up, thats if they can hold on to them (GAA very strong down there). I agree that you have the top four Celtic, Erris, Town & Utd followed by manulla and the rest are premeirship sides. Claremorris will be strong in a few years with all the good youth teams they have.
