Fenlon to Rovers according to todays Indo, on the back of a substantial investment from Umbro boss John Courteney. With Scully to take the Shels job.

Apparently Pat won't move up to Derry. Hopefully our board don't back down on this one, I'd rather have a less able manager who is living in Derry and training the team daily that someone who is trying to do it from 150 miles away.

What about Scully for Derry?

What about Scully for Derry?Unproven at this stage. Also hasn't endeared himself with his constant anti-Derry position on EL Weekly.

But then again Fenlon was public enemy no 1 for us until last week.

As someone else said, you have to be very fickle to be a football supporter these days!

Eleven-a-side (http://www.eleven-a-side.com/shelbourne/) is bursting with rumours of players leaving Shels - Colin Hawkins to Dunfermline, Ollie Cahill and Stuart Byrne to Drogheda, Richie Baker to Motherwell, Glen Crowe and Owen Heary to Bohs, Jason Byrne to Dundee United, Jim Crawford to retire and move into coaching and the out of contract players to possibly move on - Steve Williams, Dean Delaney, Dave Rogers (linked with Bohs on the Shels forum), Joey Ndo and Gary O'Neill. Dave Tyrrell and Dave Crawley are already gone. Not looking good down Tolka Park way; you'd have to say they'd be doing well to qualify for Europe with what's left, assuming obviously that the funds aren't there to bring in suitable replacements.

One would assume that players will be reluctant to sign for them in the future with the publicity of the payment issues and anecdotal accounts from ex-Shels players and staff. Who knows though? Ollie has pulled a few surprises in his time. I'd still say only 50% of that exodus will happen at a maximum.

For the league's perspective it is worrying that Shels are to offload/lose most of their squad. Will somebady think of the coefficient!.

Scully unproven? Christ, you lot have an over-inflated sense of yourselves.

As for John Courteney, he cannot invest in Rovers without the say so of the membership. End of.

Unproven! He won a league title in two attempts one more than your
beloved SK. You must be watching a different EL Weekly to me because
everytime he was on he was positive about Derry.
Just because he said Shels would win the league and was right

I would rather have Scully at the Brandy than Fenlon. I hated both of them playing football but thats football fans for you. He has done a terrific job with Rovers with them playing football the right way. He named 6 Derry players in his team of the year - I think that's credit enough. Just because he says the league table doesn't lie - that hardly constitutes giving Derry no credit.

If, by over-inflated sense of ourselves you mean that we want to appoint someone with a track record of managing at the top of a good League and experience of winning in Europe, then yes maybe we do.

Maybe John Courtney intends buying out Ray Wilson's share of Rovers... or has Wilson agreed to give the Rovers members first option ??? hope the Rovers board have that tied down.

They have, we've been buying Ray's shares back incrementally. There's is zero scope for a Courtenay to come along now and undo all the good work. Unless of course the turkeys vote for Christmas....

To be fair you do seem to have a few punters on board who don't actually grasp what a members club is or how one should function!. I'd kick off those re-education classes you have been putting off pretty soon;)

Or maybe their are a few punters on board who fully grasp what a members club is and thus worry about the fact that one member holds a large shareholding and is entitled to sell that to anyone he wants....unless as WAR says the other members of the board have a water tight agreement that excludes that.

The only ones at Rovers who don't grasp the members club concept tend not to actually be members. Which I'd imagine is the same at Bohs.

Calcio - there's no fears on that score.
