[This drive is now over. Thank you to everyone that made a donation.]

You can now make a donation to the banner fund discussed below. I'll put it in an announcement in a few days, I'd like to bring the donations in nice and gently. Please follow the instructions carefully, I will not take responsibility for payments lost because someone didn't read them. If you come across any problems, please let me know. NOTE: €100 of the above is my approximate donation; I'll be covering the transaction costs.

Right Lads,

Can anyone design a flag/banner we can get made up and bring with us to all Euro 2008 qualifing games. Please post all designs here and we can run poll to see which one we should get made up.

It would be great to have something that we could proudly show to all nations and show them how to support your country.

Just a Thought!! Would be good though. Lets know what you all think and we can see about getting it made up from some nice company!! (free) lol.

prsopect design make flags off monatque st in Dublin 2. info@flagsireland.com

they are very good and will do them with eye hooks for tieing up etc.

as regard sponsorship i hate seeing company names on flags, you may recall Davy Keogh & 747 travel say hello a no of years back. No problem with pub names as they are part of social life, anyway thats my humble opinio for what its worth.

Yeah I agree, you are better getting a load of lads pitching in rather than getting a corporate sponsor on the flag. Its bad enough its on the jersey for the fans.

Forever,

If we can get designs from fans, we can all chip in then, to pay for it. If everyone agrees that is.

Neil,

I did'nt want to ask fans to pay for it as they have alot of travelling ahead of them, but as you've said if we can come up with good design, we can all chip
in!!!

mind you what about "FOOT.IE on tour", a massive flag could be done up and im sure if a few lads left collection boxes in desiginated pubs around lansdowne for the dutch game enough regualr posters here throwing in a €5 each would buy some hell of a flag. The nextrproblem would be getting someone to lug it around.! :D :D :D

NeilMcD

That is always a problem. I share a house with one of the Dublin Tartan Army and we keep their flag. Its pretty big but he brings it to every away game and he says sometimes its a nuisance esp if its the same guy brining to the more obscure trips etc. They are pretty heavy. But its a great idea, I am just flagging potential issues rather than knocking the idea.

Junior,

We can arrange that at later date, But first we need designs from fans and to decide when we recieve them which one and what size. So post designs please!!!!:D

also you have to be sure whoever gets the money spends all the money on the design, or sets a target price that once reached the paypal aco**** is closed and funds used are sent straight to the ppl designing it etc. i spose proof of htat can be set up on this thread or whatever relevant thread.

i know that soccercentral lads are getting a flag done as well. which should be viewable in stuttgart

I have emailed irish flags and asked them to see what they could do and what price they would require for a flag with the website logo on it and the words foot.ie on tour. So will let you all know what they come back with.

I have also asked for price and for them to design it. i've told them that it would have to be big enough to crowd surf it at all Euro2008 qualifying games home and away.

before you go ahead with that you had better ask permission from the webmaster / moderators. Doubt if they would mind, probably would love the idea but still out of respect they should be asked.

Check out the Rebel Army Exiles banner here... (http://www.banners-for-all.co.uk/Textile%20Gallery%208.htm)
Cost me €155 in total after shipping.
Brilliant service.
It's light, finished with eyelets for tying it up.
Easy to wash, 30C in the washing machine will do the trick and it dries in no time.
Great correspondence from them throughout the production process.
Advice given on design, etc.

I can't recommend them highly enough!

i wasnt responding to your post, i was responding to neils, hence i saw he was responding to you, that does not infer I was responding to you, only advising he should ignore it and not let it get to him....as I did/do.

however, I did respond to the above post ( not the original ), so I see the irony just like sideshow bob when he was using TV as the medium to blow up the world because people watched too much TV :D

Right all!! just recieved email from flag crowd peader posted, and the following details were sent by email. We have 2 options.

1) 13 x 4.5m flag with the foot.ie logo in the white part of tricolour would be the most economical this would cost 540.00(about€870) sterling & 25.00 sterling delivery.

2) 13 x 4.5m flag which would be more impressive to extend the logo accross all three parts off the flag. cost 1462.00 (€about €2300.)sterling & 25.00 delivery.

He wants address and credit card details (does not commit us to anything just safe guard) and they will work on proofs for us. I can give mine but everyone would have to agree and see how they get on.

Reply as soon as possible.

How many regular posters on the fans forum? if all of them gave €20 would it cover it? also each contributor could have their name printed along the bottom / side of the flag. Additional text shouldnt make any differecne to the cost!

Nothing to do with money. I just don't think that foot.ie represents me, especially not at international football games.

I have Cork City FC projects to invest in, which mean something to me.

By the way, that picture of my banner doesn't do it justice.
The crest is in gold and it looks brilliant in real life.
Some of the eL lads here will have seen it close up.
Everyone was impressed with the print quality.

Banners For All will ask for your credit card details but have no fear, they need that to protect themselves in case you tell them to begin production but then pull out. They wont charge you until you authorise it.

Tell Ralph I was asking for him. ;)

If you check the flag/banner thread you will see that we are trying to organise to get flag/banner made for all the european qualifier games.
The flag will have the Foot.ie logo on it and will say FOOT.IE ON TOUR
And will have all the names of people who donated in small around edge of flag. The cost is €1610.00 so will need 81 - 82 donations. Add name to list if you want to offer the €20.00 fee for the flag. Would need all money offered by latest end of july so we can order and have ready for 2/09/2006 germany -v- Ireland game.
