the squad for the oscar tryanor match this weekend, just wondering why the Clonmel Town keeper isn't included since he is able to make the Irish colleges team??
Not that he'd play or anything but the Celtic keeper John Ryan is the best in Clonmel (and maybe the TSDL?) by a country mile
Lads how come there is no Two Mile Borris players on the panel of the OT?????
dunno why no borris player on it. james scott should be on it and ken ryan and darmody if there fit and playing regularly

On the subject of the Oscar Traynors can somebody please explain how Ted O'Connor ended up being suspended from Eircom League matches due to "allegedly" not contactig the oscar traynor manager when he "allegedly" could not make a game?

that is ridiculous if thats the reason he is suspended. dont think he will be in any rush back to play in tsdl in the future so

and just to add(not taking away from celtic's win) but....... michaels had 5 youths in starting 11 and 2 other players 18 years of age.... but a win is a win..not sure about the keeper... very small.. and the game against michaels he came for a corner and missed it and a goal came of it

Yes. Don't think they will get anywhere. Apparently their PRO Maurice Walsh was on Tipp FM last Monday night and he said that they would take it as far as they can. I think they should let it go if they don't get anywhere with the FAI.
I didn't hear the programme with Walsh. I don't know the man, only to see but he looks and sounds like a man who means business. According to some of the Town players, he is the main man at the club and if he puts his mind to something, he usually gets what he wants. He was the man who got McKeever in.

Listen to Tipp Fm tonight as I believe that John delaney is on. I'm sure the guy who presents it will bring up the Clonmel Town situation as he seems very sympathetic to them.

Firstly you're on the wrong thread. Its refreshing to see your genuine  concern for Town after the tripe you've been posting on the MJC thread. Are you worried that the F.A.I might order a replay????????

Munsterman, are u having a laugh or wat saying John Ryan is the best keeper in the TSDL!! Richie Ryan obviously should be on the TSDL Oscar trainer as number1 but as everybody knows,de Oscar trainer is only a joke.Richie is on the Irish colleges team so why isnt he good enough for de Oscar Trainer.??Any suggestions!!!??:ball: :ball:

 Those match reports are an absolute embarrassment to the club
It was a good win against an under strength Michaels team.
As for John Ryan, yeah I think he's better than Richie Ryan having watched both fairly often over the last few years. Don't really know the other TSDL keepers that well but i'd see him as being fairly under-rated. 'Tis only my opinion though.;)

Great game yesterday between Celtic and Town, good weather, good crowd and two great goals. I thought Celtic had the better of it in the first half and deserved to go in front at the start of the second but then sat back leaving town dominate the final period. Town were deserving of an equalizer.
I thought the ref was fairly scandalous though. How he didn't give a penalty to Danny Madigan in the last few minutes I'll never know. He was fecking hacked down by two defenders - his shinguard was snapped and he had to go off injured as well! I don't know whether Tommy Lewis and all the gang being down ready to present the trophy to Town put him under a bit of pressure or what, but it was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen.
Leaves a bitter taste in the mouth but in the end you can't argue with Town being the best team in the league. It's some achievement to win four in a row.

Fair assessment. Have to agree with you. As a Clonmel Town fan I was delighted with the result. Couldn't see us getting a goal. Tony Scully's goal was brilliant, matched by Brian Waters. A draw was probably a fair result but if Celtic had held on, nobody could have argued
In relation to the penalty that wasn't given, even I could see from the other end that it was a stone wall penalty. John Teehan bottled it. Celtic have reasons to be upset.
Well done to Town, fantastic achievement to win four in a row

I was very impressed by Celtic yesterday. They were definetley the better side over 90 mins. Town were like a side already on their summer hols. Just goes to show what a bit of dedication and resources can achieve. They must be favourites for the Tipp Cup. Hopefully another few clubs can make the step up next year and make the league an entirely more competitive affair. From a Town perspective it fantastic to win 4 in a row but it will take some new squad additions to make it 5.

I was at the Borris vs Town game ,I thaught Borris showed great spirit to come back and win the game. The big guy at the back for Borris (carlo) i think had a fine game ,very comfortable on the ball as did the striker that got the hatrick. There is a rumour that Clonmel are not that good away from home.I think Clonmel are suffering from MJC hangover.
yeah borris came from 2 down to win five 2. great result for them good end of season result . they can look forward to next season now. to beat town at any time is great result for any team. if borris could be more consistent next year they could challenge top 3.

Absolutely gutted after Sunday's game. Fair play to Michaels though - they did what they had to do. Terrible for Paul Kennedy to miss one of the penalties, he's been unreal all year, should definitely get TSDL player or the year though - scored nearly forty goals this season. Also, fair play to Kenny O'Shea. There was a lot of slagging of him early on but tipp cup finalists and two points off the league is a good start. Only hope he stays now, i heard he could be stepping down.

I would agree re: comments about Paul Kennedy and I am an avid saints fan !! he is quality and clever !! def in the mix for player of the year. hopefully CTFC won't snatch him. Plus he showed he is a dignified fella the way he was the only player to stay to listen to the St michaels captain make his speech on sunday. Thought is was disrespectful that some players didn't stay for the presentation of their medals even.. we have all lost finals and its not an easy thing but some sort of dignity should have been kept.. not having a go just making a comment and observation......... It was a massive result for saints B and no one can blame them for celebrating in the way they did !!!

Fair enough, i didn't see any of that (i was gone myself) but remember this is a team that has never reached a major final and maybe never will again, no one would blame Michael's for celebrating - of all clubs they'd be the one you'd have the greatest respect for,the A team and the B team are a great bunch of lads in both victory and defeat. For Celtic they know that they'll never have a better chance, i don't think it was intentionally disrespectful but they were absolutely gutted the way it turned out.:(

I disagree re: " maybe never reach a final again" if they keep going they way thay have been for the last 2 seasons they will challenge every year.. they just need to build on this season and who knows.. saints and CTFC need a team like celtic to challenge for everything every year.. it will avoid teams winng 16 games on the trot etc.... till next season i guess !!!
