LMFAO- We might as well not bother turning up so:D

i would not say that now.but just beware cause the villa are out to get ye at the complex!we were the last team to beat ye in the league and ye wer lucky last year to beat us.so with our new more solid team it will be a close match with villa sneaking it by the odd goal!!its our destiny to be champions this year!!!

Ur sum-up of villa looks very good i think  But I was informed that Barry Ryan looked far from sharp:eek: and was replaced near the finish, and for Villa to succeed this season O'Connor and new signing P.Kirwan would be the preferred choice up front with Ryan been the 3rd striker (it's only word of mouth I got) I haven't seen Villa play yet but hope to get up to the Complex on Sunday. O'Connor came on in the 2nd half so obviously will be a while before fully fit and as you say "will have no problems scoring"...

Your confidence is great, "when" they win on Sunday !!!! 5 pts clear after two games.....sher at the rate your going you'll have the league won for Peake by December !!

ah was just first game of the season so barry ryan sharpness wil improve with time.Barry has been top scorer for villa for the last 5 seasons,so cant see him being third choice!not sure myself bout kirwan.but id say its between ryan and o'connor( he is lookin sublime in training) for the golden boot as wel as a league championship medal!!!

Does anyone know the story with St Nicholas?? First few games have been Postponed now and rumour has it they haven't registered a squad yet?? Will these games be replayed or will Peake Villa, Town etc get the points?? Are they pulling out or whats the deal??

Old Bridge had an awful result tonight losing away to Clonmel Celtic 2-1. Paul Kennedy with the 2 goals for Celtic and a late Emmet Ryan peno for Bridge wasn't enough. Bridge didn't deserve anything from the game, too much arguing between players and too many long balls which Clonmel Celtic just cleaned up. Bridge need to get back to their pre-season form quickly or they will have a long hard season.
St.Nicholas couldn't field a team again tonight against Town this time...they should be kicked out of the league.
Why have St.Michaels got all homes games so far (3) and another one next week.....not fair on other teams special treatment for Saints as usual.

Saints 5 - 2 Borris

Travelled up to Cooke Park last nite to have a look at Borris and Saints. I should have stayed at home really I'm sure there was better things on TV. Judging by the scoreline it looked like Saints were impressive, but that was not the case. Saints don't look a threat at all. Davy Ryan was missing, O'Sullivan not in goal, they had the Youth Keeper in goals and it showed as well. The ususal scorers, Breen, Walsh and Bargary..etc..etc... Borris were poor to say the least, can't see them anywhere near the top or mid table if they keep going the way they are. They seem to have a full squad out but still of no use to them.

On the other side of things......€5 was the cost to get into the game, a mid-week game, 2nd game in the league...WHAT A JOKE  ! I know inflation has hit the country...but that was a f**king joke. Everyone I talked to was very angry with the €5 fee to see the game. Who are Saints trying to kid !! I'll be thinking twice before I head to Cooke Park again.

Hi guys,im new to this.

As far as im aware, St Michaels pitch Cooke Park is hosting a junior international game aganist England in September so they want to make sure the pitch is in pristine condition so there playing most of there home games now so the pitch will be vacant for 2-4 wk period around the time of the international! I wouldnt agree with this myself, however if you look on the bright side, michaels will have alot of away games near the end of the season and if there in the shake up for honours, it should be more difficult for them to take points away from home! Anyone agree?

As for Peake Villas Barry Ryan being sharp, thats a good one if i ever heard it, the mans about 70 mins fit and then hes out on his feet! I watched a few pre season games and saw the borris game the other night and he looked far from impressive! If OConnor is fit and Kirwan stays with the villa, Ryan will be warming the bench for along time in my opinion!

Saw foggy playing for the villa in the borris game, ran the show for long periods and took alot of the load off donal duggans shoulders, could be the signing of the season! Also impressed with the new look Villa back 4, very tight!

The Amateur International game in on the 20th of September Ire V's Eng so I understand the home game for saints at the minute. As as you said it will be harder for them to pick up away points near the end of the season.

Ryan warming the bench for Villa is the correct statement, and club captain, as someone said above, doesn't guarantee a first place !!!

Think you highlighted your limited knowledge of football in the above paragraphs..saints were 5-0 up with 5 to go playing with 4 youths from last year and one youth from this year.. they beat a team that the " beloved peake" only beat 1 nil.. and old brigge beat 2-1..borris were poor cause they were out fought out played and out witted...credit where credit is due.. if borris sorted their defense they are not bad going forward..ken Ryan james scott Danny graham will cause trouble for any team.. lots of people on the website seem to have an allegiance to peake.. look lads leopards never change their spots.... come the winter months it will be back to 3-4 players training to qoute " the usual suspects" and the temptation of the saturday night gargle..Barry ryan should join an atheletics club cause thats all he is good at...running..Im sure the clonmel crew minus the peake blinkers will agree..in all my time watching him play against michaels i can remember him scoring 2 goals..a peno in peake about 2 years ago and a goal last year in cooke park which was a back pass hit straight to him.. its great to see peake getting things sorted..but lets not try to sprint before we can jog... its only good for the league that peake celtic cahir are challenging..thats what the league needs... as for saints playing at home all the time.. their games in august will be at home and their games in september will be away so it will balance out..this is to facilitate an amateur International being held there between Ireland and England on 30th september...not ideal i know but this is how the powers that be have decided to run with this..

I appreciate your comments but I beg to differ about the “limited knowledge of football”. You seem to be putting me across as a “Peake” man, which is certainly not the case  . I'm sure you wouldn't like if I called you a TOWN man !!! If you read my previous posts over the years you might get the gist that I am not a Peake man and I’m in total agreement with your statements on Barry Ryan and also that the teams like peake, celtic and cahir are getting things sorted and can only be good for the league. It will hopefully bring the days of a “two horse race” in the TSDL to an end.

Credit where credit is due for Saints, I don’t disagree. They were obviously the better side on the night, but what I was saying is that they weren’t a shadow of their former selves, but on the flip side, it’s early in the season and they probably have a few players to get back, Davy Ryan and Kevin O’Sullivan. Tobin is a good signing for them this year again. Tobin, Walsh, Breen, Cremmins, a good back four if they could find a replacement for Cremmins, my own opinion is that he has had his day. But on the Borris side of things, they are still lacking 4/5 players to make a good team. James Scott is their best player, but is hounded with injuries year in year out, and again last night had to retire from the game with injury. Danny Graham is strong, but lacks speed and always had. Ken Ryan didn’t do much last night after he came into the game so at the moment, going forward, they don’t impress at all.

fair comments..apoligise if i offended calling you a peake man...higgins will slot in fore cremins so defense will be strong but conceding silly goals at mo will struggle against better teams like town or peake if that continues

All due respect here Tipp Man, in relation to your comment on the villa v borris game, villa were playing away for starters and derby games are always tight especially first game of the season, but your forgetting that bansha v michaels game which is also a derby, was won 5-1 by michaels, who were at home and i heard on the grape vine bansha only arrived with 9 players and took a 1-0 lead which is a joke! Any team that arrives to the villas home pitch on sunday afternoon with 9 players will get a hammering im sure regardless of who they are!! Theres no excuse when you have 2 extra players!

No problem at all...I do agree that higgins will slot in for cremins and that will make a excellant back four for saints. Silly goals are conceded, but when Sully is back things will change for the better. Their defence is hard to break down, Saints they have the height for the aerial battles and also the skill for the ground work..

At the end of the day Black Jack, be it 11 or 9 players, 3 points are the only thing that any team need at the start of the season when all teams are starting out and not fully fit etc regardless of hammering them or winning 1-0...

Anybody know if points are awarded to the teams who's games were called off against St. Nich's for not fielding at team ?

Yes im starting to believe that Villa Man is Barry Ryan, theres a lot of self praise goin on there and that would be barry ryan all over!!! Get over yourself man, barry ryan isnt the barry of old and he isnt getting any younger, what is he now 26 or 27! Hes carrying his leg which he had an op on yrs ago and its quite visible during games! I hear someone say he is captain, i wouldnt be relying on that to keep him in the team, if villa are short strikers, he could be lucky, but surely theve sum younger, fitter players who can slot in up front if needs be?? Have villa only 3 strikers??

i would not say that now.but just beware cause the villa are out to get ye at the complex!we were the last team to beat ye in the league and ye wer lucky last year to beat us.so with our new more solid team it will be a close match with villa sneaking it by the odd goal!!its our destiny to be champions this year!!!

That crashing sound in your head is reality hitting home:D . Town dominated Peake yesterday and the match was over as a contest after half an hour whenTown went 3-0 up. In fairness Villa improved in the second half and created a few chances. Villa improved this year? Maybe but they still have a lot of improving to do. If its any consolation i dont think any team will win all their games this year so one defeat will not spell disaster. On a final note- the refs performance yesterday was shocking. This applies to decisions made for both sides. Bring back Ned Spillane i say ;)

For a neutral I would agree with all the above comments and with regard to the referee, shocking is just an understatement. Both sides were very hard done by by the ref...he was disgrace. When you see two teams going out and giving their best and you have a ref who could be better off blowing his whistle at sheep dogs trials...It's a disgrace. Peake have a lot to do if they are to challange for honours this year. Good 2nd half, but it's 90 mins you need to be playing for these days.

Anybody know if Coady is due to serve a suspension from last year ?

Coady was initally handed a 3 month ban by the TSDL disciplinary committe- unjustly in my opinion when you consider the instigator only recieved a one match ban. The decision was upheld on appeal to the Munster council so starting from next week Coady will be kicking his heels for 3 months. Town will miss him not particularly for his scoring ratio but more so because he terrorises defenders into mistakes with his workrate and tenacity. Anyhow, the decision is made and we just have to get on with it now. Depending on the opposition it will probably be Tony Scully or Michael McCugh to fill in during Coadys enforced sabbatical.

by all accounts it was the referee's report that got him done..saints player sent off and rightly so for kicking but the sentence for that is 1-3 games but the player had no previous..alan coady was done for headbutting, kicking on the ground and attempted biting..so based on this and his previous he's lucky it was not longer.. i have to ask the question tho given that saints had 7 youths that night would coady even have attempted it if chalky breeno paul tobin davy ryan etc were playing.. i don't think so !!! any comments?

Whilst i would never condone violence on the pitch it has to be said that u cant expext to catch a tiger by the tail and escape unscathed. Obviously the refs x-ray specs were in good working order that night when he saw through the ruck of 14-15 players to witness this alleged headbutting, kicking and biting. As for the "Heavy Brigade" mentioned above i can only suggest that they dont try to find out. It may prove to be a painful lesson.

Was at Town and Villa game on Sunday and I never saw refereeing like it in my whole life it was a disgrace how there wasn't 4 lads sent off. Anthony Davis deliberately handled ball on line and only got booked, Paul Scully threw and elbow which the ref called him back for and only booked him, Barnes threw a dig and got away with it and a Peake player should have been sent off also for a dangerous tackle. I think ref's are too scared to sned off players from the so called "big teams" in the league. Barry Ryan missed 3 glorious chancs to get Peake back in the game also on the day. Any truth in rumours in Town that Dwayne Burns is leaving?? He played a match last Sat morn for CLonmel Celtic and then was never given game for Town on Sun..........
