You mean his real name is not Patrick Dunne??
DFX....grrrrrrrr
Oh well, I might as well steal his thunder.
Twenty years ago, GUFC had a player from Tuam called Pa Dunne. To say he was clumsy would be a gross understatement. He couldn't run, tackle or pass but by heck, could he score brilliant goals. Everytime he came on (usually from the bench..), he would be greeted with a barage of "Pa Pa Super Pa". Legend.

In Japan people use 'san' instead or Mr. or Ms.
Also, when my wife first saw my chest (by Irish standards not too hairy, but by Japanese standards.....) she said it looked like a monkey!!! ('osaru' in Japanese)
Hence "Osarusan"

The name Thunderblaster came from my friends in Donnycarney, Dublin from playing football. I would play up front and I would smash my shots with power, hence the nickname.

Thankfully the only punishment was the score line....we played really well and the scoreline doesnt reflect the truth of the game. We had some fantastic chances and kept the Dundalk team on their toes throughout the game....if only 2 more of our really good chances had gone in we would have had a fairer result.

For anyone who spends a lot of time on here id say you have also wondered where the other regular posters got there nickname out of... obviuously not talking about the likes of.. example: JohnGUFC etc...
but ones that seem to have a meaning!!
ill start...
Gilberto= spent a lot of time working in my uncle/cousins factory when was younger to which my cousin was called Gilbert because are 2nd name is Gilligan, i needed a nickname for Yahoo/Bebo shortly after when i was sitting at the P.C and taught of Gilbert to which i stuck the O on to it and since Gilberto was taken had to add the Eire!(obviously hearing of Gilberto the arsenal player contributed to this beign an O)
At the time i kept changing passwords and names but since that i keep the same password and name gilberto_eire or gilberto_galway
there are a lot of posters i wonder about on here but im not gonna name them and let them get bigheaded to say i remember them.. :-P

CC stands for Chipie Curlie ...
Watching the Champions League a few years back when Beckham scored a scorcher of a free kick, we started discussing the best free kick takers of all time and I mentioned Ronald Koeman and how he used to blast his free kicks..my mate then replied that he was fairly handy at the Chipie Curlie's too ala his free against England that put paid to their WC hopes as in my sig...
....obviously we were a bit under the weather Jamaica style that night :o
I chose Galway Harps because I'm a Harps fan that lives in Galway and for some reason I couldn't choose my usual Mr A handle.
That still annoys me to be honest.
Just wondering. If the where with all came about and you could now change your username , what would it be.
There is a pint for the most humourous.
